Junkyard Golf Club Arvostelua 

Not bad for the price considering bang in Newcastle city centre yes it’s only 9 holes but any longer when under the influence you would lose track of the scores. Reasonable fee for location and hype - cocktails average price of any city centre bar so don’t know why people saying expensive clearly only frequent student bars if £5- £7.50 is expensive for a cocktail. Don’t go b4 7pm weekdays if you don’t want to be playing golf where kids are. No kids allowed after 7pm nice they can go in tho but not my idea of fun dodging kids flinging balls about. All staff including the door men were nice and cheerful not intimidating at all like I’ve seen on others reviews, over all it is was canny for a couple of drinks and a game was in there an hour but did stretch it out with plenty pit stops on way round had 3 drinks on the course on happy hour at £5 each can’t complain at all. Was a good little date night il return with my pals for a game n a few more drinks.

Brilliant experience overall but I wish the courses were a bit longer for what you pay for them. The courses are fun and creative, friendly staff, amazing drinks and music :)

The courses are more decorative than particularly complex and the whole experience is over quickly. Not enough space when it’s busy as you constantly feel stressed to finish at a hole as there’s another group right behind you.
However, my real gripe was how misleading they were about compulsory mask wearing. They have signs everywhere saying to wear a mask when not eating or drinking and their website advertises this as well. No one wore a mask when we were there including the staff members and this was really frustrating. If you’re booking a slot thinking you’ll feel safe as people are masked, think twice as our experience was that no one cared and no one enforced it.

A fun night out at Junkyard Golf Shoreditch with a group of friends quickly turned into racial discrimination & threatening behavior before we’d even started.

Yes Junkyard have a Challenge 25 policy, but (arriving only minutes apart, and all over 30y/o), only our white friends were let in without ID. The verbal and physical body language that followed (by Junkyard security) was outrageous, and indisputably racist.

It was an incredibly upsetting situation and we are still waiting for a refund on the advanced tickets that we bought.

Not only would I avoid this place, but I will also be pursuing a full refund and apology to my friends who weren’t allowed in.

So I have mixed opinions about this place….
The website is very misleading- making it seem like all the courses were in different rooms with varying music etc. This isn’t the case. They are all in the same room with no differing music just different obstacles which I personally didn’t understand the link to the ‘theme’ for some of them.

The bouncer, bar staff and person who checked us in all looked like they hated being there, moody and unfriendly, although the man on the course was alright.

The course itself is very small, we went on ‘Dirk’, there was 4 of us and we couldn’t have been more than 30 minutes. People also stood so close behind us waiting which did make us feel rushed and uncomfortable.

Overall, I would say it’s probably not worth the price, ends quickly and isn’t quite what you expect. But it was an experience none the less and the drinks were nice, but again…expensive.

Came away disappointed. They didn’t have any Fairway to Heaven drinks available or “strawberry daiquiri slushes”. I got there at 7pm. How can they run out so early…. Felt really limited on the drinks. This was the London Junkyard on Wednesday. Not even a busy weekend.

Had the best time at the Manchester junkyard golf! Cocktails were stunning and me and the girls had so much fun!!

Came here on a weekend away with the girls, had a great time and would defo recommend! Buzzing for our next time back 💃🏻

Went to the Liverpool branch. I do not drink so did not have one before golf but wish I had. Only 9 holes and paid over the odds for. Plus on top of that really short and easy easy holes first of which went in a straight line got a hole in one.
Very disappointed will not go again

Went to the Manchester branch - I am exempt from a mask during the pandemic and have had negative experiences elsewhere showed my exemption badge to the Bouncer, no fuss was made of it, they said it’s okay show the staff when you show your QR code, they too were brilliant, advised of process due to covid, short wait for golf, quick table service for the bar whilst waiting all members of staff trained well & knowledgable on the waits etc also very friendly & understanding, no anxiety or stress, very enjoyable experience, would highly recommend & hope to go again soon

I had a good experience with a group of 6.
Expect to wait a while before starting. This is the time you can buy some drinks. Was able to wait an extra 15 mins when course became available.

Booked for 7pm ended up getting in at 7:20 only to realise it was overbooked so you had people rushing to finish each hole which made the whole experience last about 10 minutes per course.

Refund expected

Using an app to order and buy your drinks is insane. Couldn’t find half of what we wanted and then when we did got a message back saying order unsuccessful due to no mix being available. What’s wrong with table service? There were several staff members just not doing anything, they could of been serving.
Waited quite a while for our session but we didn’t mind. Not overly impressed with the holes all quite short and boring. I must admit I expected more and was a bit disappointed. Also constantly told to wear bloody masks going around the course in our own group, ridiculous and not healthy. Won’t be going again in a hurry.
