Jim's Mowing (Australia) Arvostelua 

We are building in Teralba, Lake Macquarie, and engaged Wati Lotawa from Jim's Mowing to mow and edge our corner block verge, and weed the easement garden on the corner. The verge was overgrown and the garden was full of weeds. Wati did an incredible job! He was able to do the job promptly, has excellent communication skills, sending us images of the completed work, and his charges are very reasonable. We have booked him monthly going forward. Highly recommended.

HOANG Vietnemese. was insolent, arrogant, misogynist. Ignored me every time when I tried to speak to him, kept walking away each time.
He cost me on all 4 times he was here.
First visit - power cleaned concrete c $400 he strode into house, plugging in to a lounge room power board without asking me & blew my Wifi. I thought the whole house power was blown, new TV etc Replacement WIFI Modem cost to me $120.

Nearly broke Side Gate, would have cost me $600. ●Despite my Viet friend speaking to him over ph in Vietnamese.

●BASHIR (Afghanastan) has been here once. Doesn't seem to understand that mowing job required leaving a cleaned up yard by using a leaf Blower. The lawn grass was very low, easy to mow but as they were leaving I had to request to return & clean up Yard of leaves. The original quote $90 became $95 when he arrived with QUASIM & wanted payment before job was started. No change from $100. I told him when he came to quote that I had travelled in Afghanistan & found people there good. When he returned to mow he clearly thought I was a female pushover to be taken advantage of.

Both HOANG & BASHI were told I needed reliability as I am 78 & dealing with Cancer Care Clinic & was reliant on workers to do a normal predictable mow. My yard is not large. No front pavement area was ever done by them. Both these mowers saw this as just easy money with a FU attitude to me.

I was charged $500 for a basic mowing service. I have used the same Jim’s Mowing franchisee for years and have historically paid around $70 for mowing my average-sized lawn.

My lawn is average-sized, has no hills and no significant obstacles. On previous occasions, when I have requested multiple services, I have paid considerably more. However, this particular job was not discussed with me as a $500 job before the work was carried out.

When I questioned the $500 charge and asked for a breakdown, I received a text stating that the amount included mowing, a $100 dumping fee and a $50 weed-spraying fee. However, this was not an itemised invoice showing the hours worked, hourly rate, disposal costs, or how the remaining amount of the $500 was calculated.

The franchisee confirmed that my green bin was not used and that the lawn waste was instead taken away, resulting in the $100 dumping fee. I had never previously been charged this fee despite using the same franchisee for years, and I have a green bin available at my property.

I was also charged $50 for weed spraying, despite no weed spraying being carried out on my property.

As of posting, I still have not received an actual itemised invoice showing the number of hours worked or a proper calculation of the $500 total.

I then contacted Jim’s Mowing directly to ask for assistance. Unfortunately, I was told that because I had not obtained a specific quote for this particular job, they could not assist me — despite the fact that I had been using the same franchisee for years and had consistently received the same mowing service at around $70.

Now I'm left trying to get someone to follow up with me and explain how this basic lawn job somehow cost more than it would have cost me to buy my own lawn mower.

Be using Jim's for 4 years now. Wally is always on time and does a great job

Tauranga, New Zealand - The most unprofessional lawn company I have ever had the misfortune to contact. I had previously been having my lawn mowed for years without any issue by a very friendly and pleasant gentleman but he retired so hence the need to get a new lawn mowing company. I rang Jim's Mowing 0800 number and asked for a quote to mow my lawns on a fortnightly basis. The local franchise owner rang me back a few hours later, I gave him my full name and address and he said he thought he knew where the house was as he may have given a quote to mow the lawns at this address some years before. He then described where he thought it was, he was not correct. I gave him directions as to where the house is. He promised me a quote the following week. I asked him to leave the quote in the letterbox. One week later I received a text from him asking if the quote was to give to WINZ, a government agency. (for an old age pension) I replied no it was not and gave him my full name again for the quote. He then sent another text asking the same question again if it was for WINZ but more forcibly this time. I said no again and gave my name yet again and asked him why he had asked this question twice? He replied and said he didn't believe me, he said he had done a quote at this house some years before and this was a pattern for people and Winz. He said said he did not want to do anymore mowing of lawns for people on pensions and he would not give me a quote as he was not taking anymore Winz clients and I would have to get my free quote elsewhere. Those were his words in writing. I was dumfounded. How unprofessional is this franchisee and outright rude.

Jim’s Mowing Banora Point/Tweed shire. Asked the gardener if he could just wait one second until my child and I go inside the house and he declined and put a noisy mower on despite that.
We are in a duplex. It literally would’ve taken a few seconds for us to get in.

Quoted an absurd amount to which they thought the arborists would have to come. I was quoted about $3,000 for work that my 65 year old father did in an afternoon. Very disappointing and would not recommend or use ever.

After the service, cut grass was left sitting on top of the lawn, and grass clippings and leaves were left in the garden bed and soil areas. No clean-up or blow-down was done around the edges, leaving the area looking unfinished.

The lawn was left very short and patchy following the service and looked significantly worse than before it was mowed.

Given the price paid, I expected the lawn to be left tidy and professionally finished. Unfortunately, the overall standard of work did not meet that expectation.

Really disappointing experience, expected professionalism, didn’t get it.

I booked a mowing service through a big name franchise because I thought going with a well known brand would mean reliability and proper customer care. Unfortunately, the experience was the opposite.

The person assigned to my job kept changing the appointment time, and communication was very poor. When they finally arrived, the job felt rushed, the edging was uneven, clippings were left everywhere, and parts of the lawn still looked untouched. For the price they charge, I expected a much more thorough service.

Trying to get support afterwards was frustrating as well. I was bounced between the local operator and the central office, and no one took real ownership of the issue.

Overall, the brand name didn’t translate into quality or consistency for me. I won’t be using them again.

Very disapointed, I called them they didn't answer, then they called back telling me that their franchisor will contact me. the franchisor contacted me a week laters, that's two weeks after my enquiry to give me a random quote of $150 for 80 square meter of lawn mowing.

We are unhappy with some of the work done in our garden. We purchased expensive edging to be installed by Jim's Mowing. This was supposed to be the highlight and round off the overall look of our garden but was not installed in a straight line. One side leaning back and the front side all crooked. We will have to remove and re-do all of it. It is under strain and can't just be 'pushed' or forced straight. We are disappointed as good money was paid for a job now to be redone by ourselves.
