Well organised advance information from Inselhopfen ( Boat Bike Tours), then detailed boarding info. Our MTB guide August was great, informative and patient. The Admiral boat crew provided excellent service at every step, nothing was too much. We suffered a stuck anchor, the crew were in cold water for hours to remedy the problem and have us on to the next destination. Good e-MTB and varied island styles to make for a great trip. And most importantly, wonderful meals and plenty of it ! Late April - early May was a little cold this year, but it made for comfortable riding. On this tour, the biking distances are less, sailing distances longer, due to the spacing of islands.

Tuvimos al inicio una avería en el barco que nos hizo perder un día de ruta ciclista, pero los guías organizaron una actividad diferente para ira una cala muy bonita y nadar allí. Isabel excelente y magnífica guía, Aris también muy pendiente y amable. La tripulación muy buena. En general un viaje inolvidable!

Very organized guides. Croatia is beautiful and a tour by boat and bike is an ideal way to enjoy the scenery and hills. Food was abundant and provided many traditional dishes of the region, which we always love when travelling! It is part of the joys of travel. The hybrid bikes were very disappointing and are not suitable for a Croatia or any biking tour. These are old bikes suitable for riding a km to the store on flat roads. Gravel bikes or e-bikes should only be used but e-bikes were the only other option for this tour. Suggest the company include gravel bikes as an option for cyclists. San Sanova was a lovely boat with top notch crew!

Islandhopping didn't get 5 stars because of (what should be) small things that are quite important IMHO.

This was our first boat/bike tour, so we don't have competitor past experiences to compare.)

Our boat was the Magellan. What we LOVED about Magellan is our cabin had a DOOR to the outside world in addition to an opening window where the bed is and an opening porthole in the bathroom. Being somewhat claustrophobic, this is HUGE. The boat as a whole earns TOP MARKS!

Service: I'll start with a NEGATIVE because this wasn't advertised but COFFEE was NOT available until 7:30AM! When multiple guests brought this to the crew's attention, the matter was shrugged off leaving some of us to feel like we were the bad guys. C'mon Islandhopping, this is such an easy thing to fix and aren't you there to please your guests?

The meals were wonderful and the food was very good. Portions larger than we needed and many courses; sometimes everyone was confused because these course would sometimes overlap with the available salad bar -- so at times, we'd have two salads sitting in front of us.

For all meals, the breakfast/salad bar/buffet was set up backward, so the flow of guests was like a crowded subway in NY. Example: napkins were put behind the bar in a corner -- I tried to put them out where guests could easily grab one but staff put them back in the corner. LOL!!! Small stuff, but these are fundamentals in hospitality that shouldn't be a problem. :-)

The bed was great, and the bathroom was wonderful; the shower was A+, and there was a closet and space to put luggage under the bed, "A" grade. However, the Wi-Fi was spotty. My advice is that if you advertise Wi-Fi, get a router that can handle EVERY GUEST using their device at the same time!!! Because that's the world we live in, folks, and we are 70—not millennials. WI-FI gets a "D" grade.

The bike rides were "A". Crew works hard loading/unloading each stop. They work hard with safety and give concise briefings. The tour guides (for the most part) start off with "C" grades at the start and end with an "A". I am sure, as guest, we did too. Everybody needs to sniff each other to get acquainted. Different styles, different languages, different people! :-)

From a tipping standpoint, we were uncomfortable in the process, but after being on one of these things, we will know how to go about it from now on.

There is a 60 euro per person WATER charge which was the talk of the boat even though it is advertised in fine print up front. They tacked this 120 euros on to our bar tab which must be paid in CASH -- and BE FORWARNED -- it takes a lot of research to find CASH on without big fees --- up to 20%. We settled for a 7% commission on currency exchange (our bank had no fees). If I was the CEO, I would take that "local" surcharge and bundle it into published tour rates.

Now for the post-trip summary now that I have had time to think things through and compare to other companies with similar services:

I find Islandhopping's offerings to offer the GREATEST BANG FOR THE BUCK -- the greatest value. Can you get better service? Maybe. A larger cabin? Sure. Better bike riding experience? I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT unless you are with a FIRST-CLASS snobby tour company making money off their brand name ("free?" jersey and water bottle) Better tour guides? Again, I doubt it. Food? For some people, of course. But for the ENTIRE EXPERIENCE, we had a GREAT time, and I doubt we will ever find the beauty we experienced on boating/biking the Dalmatian Islands of Croatia.

Had it not been for the small negatives, I'd have given a 5 --- which I rarely do. If Islandhopping corrects the coffee issues alone, the last star is filled in with green and Islandhopping receives 5 stars ---- BRAVO --- looking for a great boat/bike your priced well below the "snobs"? You have found your company! :-)

Guides were great- loved seeing the countryside & small towns on a bike.

Sirdjn and Lucy (guides) were awesome….the rides were well organized and the staff on the boat took very good care of us. Food was excellent and portions were ample! I enjoyed having the days well laid out for us….I especially enjoyed how relaxing this trip was……highly recommend!

The guides started us out with a positive structure, very welcoming, very informative! Travel was a bit sea rough, but by the time dinner was served, we were already bonding with other folks. With such a manageable group, introductions and location of origin may be a nice addition. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully served but very large quantities served. I hope not too much was wasted??
Staff was superb! Absolutely no criticism of the trip at all.
Our guides were so knowledgeable about the area, our rides, so very engaging, just the best.
I would recommend and also do this all again. It was a fabulous adventure.

What a lovely experience

The experience you provided for our trip to Vietnam was exceptional. Everything from the staff that was so helpful in responding to our inquiries throughout to the adventure itself, it was all first class. We cannot express how much we enjoyed our guides Nam and Huong. They are so knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and thoughtful, they are truly the best guides we have had.
This was our second trip with Island Hopping and it will not be our last. You put together such an activity filled agenda that gave us everything we had hoped to do and experience in Vietnam. Five stars for sure!

The two fabulous Vietnamese guides are what made our experience in Vietnam worth 5 stars. Their caring and listening hearts, knowledge, attitude and extra elements they added were over and above anything we've experienced before. They listened to our group and adapted the tour for our passion in their country. We did so much more than was on the Island Hopping itinerary and they adapted the itinerary to manage the group and heat. They bought us unique foods and drinks for Vietnam to try, gave us so much insight into their lives and their country and shared their wonderful senses of humour. We had so much fun with them and the whole group. We loved every minute.
