Howdens - Keswick Arvostelua 

I am reposting this review for the THIRD TIME because my previous review’s were removed after Howdens reported it to Trustpilot for containing personal information. The information in question was the full name of the fitter whom Howdens recommended, who I will now refer to simply as P. Howdens have since told me that they do not ‘recommend fitters’. However, the branch manager has told me on 2 seperate occasions now “P, is my best fitter”.
The also used the words when ordering the kitchen “Try and get P because he is our best”.
Yet, they don’t recommend, eh???

I find it disappointing that I have had to write the review in this way. Rather than addressing the substance of my experience, it appears to me that considerable effort has been made to challenge negative reviews and prevent them from remaining visible to the public. I therefore want to make it absolutely clear that P is the fitter Howdens recommended to me. I have removed his name solely to comply with Trustpilot’s rules.

My kitchen, supplied by Howdens Keswick, cost in excess of £14,000. Within a relatively short period, the worktop joints began bubbling and lifting, with filler visible and the joints no longer sitting flush, and there is a hole where the filler had been used.

When the problem was raised, I was told by the Howdens branch manager that the worktops themselves were not faulty and that the problem was with the fitting. This was particularly frustrating because P was the fitter recommended to me by Howdens.
P then told me blatant lies saying he had ‘evidence from Howdens that he was not at fault’ yet when I asked Howdens, no such evidence existed. P also told me that ‘Howdens had confirmed it was the worktop that was at fault’ this was again later confirmed by the branch manager to be untrue.

What followed has been months of trying to get what I consider a reasonable resolution. Instead of taking ownership of the situation, I have experienced responsibility being passed between Howdens and the fitter they recommended. On my last conversation with the branch manager he used the words ‘it’s nothing to do with me’ and ‘I have been told by head office to ignore your email’

I have also been extremely disappointed by Howdens’ handling of my previous Trustpilot review. Howdens publicly responded to that review stating that the matter had been investigated and closed. This did not accurately reflect the situation. The problem remained unresolved and I am still actively pursuing the matter.

I contacted Howdens and specifically asked them to amend their Trustpilot response so that it accurately reflected the position. That request was ignored. I have since sent a further email regarding the matter and, at the time of writing this review, that email has also gone unanswered.

This is particularly concerning to me because a public response saying that a complaint has been investigated and closed can give prospective customers the impression that the matter has been properly resolved, when in my case it has not been.

Consumers should be able to read both positive and negative experiences and make their own judgement. This review represents my genuine experience and opinions. I have deliberately removed the fitter’s identity following Trustpilot’s decision, while retaining the substance of what happened.

After spending more than £14,000 on a kitchen, I expected considerably better both from the installation and from the way my complaint was subsequently handled.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Howdens Keswick.

We are still no further forward and still have a worktop that has a hole in it and is bubbling.

A very easy way to buy a good quality kitchen. This was a good experience from design to installation. Vicki the kitchen designer was easy to work with and guided us through a lot of alternatives. We are very happy with the end result. The units and equipment are good quality and the design works very well for our cottage.

We wanted to give our kitchen an uplift by getting a new worktop for the kitchen, the staff through were extremely knowledgable and helpful, from the selection and quoting process all the way through to installation and aftercare.

We purchased the Bespoke Apollo Marmo Bianco Acrylic Slab Tech Worktop and it looked fantastic, the installation and (pre-installation) process was seamless and very professional, the finish second-to-none.

As part of the purchase we ordered a Proboil 3-in-1 tap, due to where it was to be installed there wasn't enough piping provided. After a really helpful call with the team at keswick we were sent out an additional length via the manfacturer/supplier.

Avoid at all costs, the kitchen they designed was not fit for purpose, they sent all wrong doors, draws etc. Took over 6 months to fit the kitchen due to their errors, charged for things they didn’t deliver. Had 3 workmen say they refuse any jobs that involve their kitchen because they are always a problem. The company are impossible to deal with no one calls back and took months of calls and emails just to get proof of delivery and invoices even though they were threatening us with court !!!!! Never known anything like it

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Vicky in the keswick branch is a real asset to the company. Planned the kitchen and made the process so smooth. Great kitchen fitter James benson who worked so hard to complete the job on a tight schedule. Just brilliant!

Fantastic experience from start to finish from the Keswick branch. Kitchen design was flawless and very true to the finished product. Delivery on time and packaged perfectly. Additional items ordered and dispatched quickly and returns of surplus stock received and refunded promptly. Cabinets are sturdy and well designed. Truly a kitchen to last a lifetime! Thank you

We’ve been delighted with our kitchen, supplied by Howdens in Keswick. We have been very pleased with the quality of the finish and the design was spot on. We found the designers helpful and responsive, able to provide suggestions and willing to listen to our ideas. They also worked with us when a worktop was unavailable to find an alternative at a similar price which we were equally pleased with. Overall a good quality product and an excellent service.

Big thank you to Jamie for all his help in planning and sorting out any issues with missing bits and bobs. The units are always good quality and we wouldn't use anywhere else.
