The long wait, 80 minutes, to get to the rental desk was frustrating and disappointing.

Have used Holiday Autos for several years . Never had any problems. Booking procedure is easy and every car we have had has met or exceeded expectations.

Easy to book and a good choice of cars and prices

When we booked we weren't made aware that the office closed at 8pm. We had scheduled to collect at 7pm, but were delayed by 30 minutes. The promised shuttle was nowhere to be seen. Since my phone hadn't picked up roaming, we got a Jet2 rep to phone the office three times, but it just went to an automated system and no-one answered. Given we had provided our flight number, why didn't they know we would be late and why didn't they answer the phone? In the end we didn't get the car and we had to find our own way to our hotel. On inspection, even though the car was booked for Madeira, the actual booking was made with Enterprise in Dublin. I have no idea what happened but it left us distressed and out of pocket as they are now saying it was our fault that we didn't collect the car.

After booking for several years without issues with Holiday Auto’s this time was totally unacceptable.

First of all I specifically requested a company which operated directly from the airport terminal, and wasn’t aware they didn’t until arriving to discover it was a 10 minute shuttle bus service ( which I wanted to avoid after being previously unimpressed with this type of arrangement)

No shuttle bus service arrived.

I then contacted Holiday Auto’s who in turn contacted the company Wirber rent a car, and eventually a shuttle bus arrived.

I also had to contact them to ask where the shuttle bus was, so not the best start, eventually after around 45 minutes a shuttle bus arrived.

Went to pick up the rental car and was then almost “bullied” into adding their insurance, which I rejected.

I was then advised to video the vehicle’s bumps, knocks and scratches, which was virtually impossible as it was nighttime and the vehicle was a black car so simply not possible to provide any suitable video,

The whole experience was completely unacceptable and my advice would be to anyone considering either of these companies to carefully consider all other available options.

Beware if using these people in Spain in conjunction with their supplier DelPaso.
In addition to paying for the car hire I also paid holiday autos for their damage refund insurance : an extra £30.52 for a weeks car hire from Malaga.
On arrival I found that I had taken a credit card which did not have my FULL FIRST name on it - just my initials and surname. My passport, driving licence and several debit cards all had my FULL FIRST name, but Del Paso refused to accept my credit card as it did not have my full first name on it.
Held hostage by DelPaso until I paid them Euro 140 LOCALLY for their insurance and was told that they had to do this under instruction from holiday autos.
Advice - Read the holiday autos info very carefully and get a credit card that has your full first name on it or you too will be charged locally to get the car that you thought you had booked and paid for. Or better still use a car hire company directly rather that a broker like this lot.

The response received from holiday autos amounts to so what and it’s my fault. Recommend using a proper hire company who care. This company doesn’t.

Easy to book, prices very keen compared to other companies / websites

I rang for a shuttle from the airport but there was no answer so I had to follow directions and walk to the hire company. It wasn’t too far but it wasn’t ideal with heavy bags.

So far, all I can review is my booking experience with Holiday Autos - which was good, easy, straightforward and offered the opportunity to pay in a currency of one's choosing. Being able to cancel up to 48 hours before pick-up could be helpful. The only negative was the cost.

Very easy a little cheaper compared to your company. I’m very satisfied.

Do any of us really need to be asked ' how did our car booking experience go' It is just purile and the companies that do this are becoming ever more oppresive in their marketing
