Chat service was actually good. The goods bought were not.
The service provided by customer chat (real person) was perfectly fine and he did his job. The problem was what I believe was misrepresentation of goods - which would have got me reimbursement - but denied by HMV. South Park DVD box sets seasons 1-5 & 6-10 are the Comedy Central broadcast versions, NOT the director preferred/UK broadcast ones which remove bleeping from Season 3 onwards. This is NOT stated on the boxes, indeed implying the makers' commentaries etc make this set the best yet. HMV state they must use the agreed manufacturer marketing, which is a cop-out. Seasons 11 onwards DVDs are fine and match the unbleeped BluRays.
I won't be recommending HMV.
EDIT: I contacted HMV as requested below. Basically been told not their problem and am to contact card provider stating misrepresentation of goods by manufacturer. Passing the buck earns downgrade to one star.

Great service at a great price
The vinyl record was really easy to order and pay for online. It arrived really quickly into the store I had requested for it to be delivered to, think from placing the order to picking it up it took two days and all at a really good price.
The staff in the Nottingham shop were very friendly and found my order really quickly. It's a great way to get an item if you might not be at home.
Would definitely recommend ordering this way

Disappointing experience with HMV
Disappointing experience with HMV
I’m extremely disappointed with how my recent pre-order has been handled. I placed my order on 6 August, with the item officially releasing on 7 August. My order confirmation stated an estimated dispatch date of 10 August, yet it is now 12 August and I still haven’t received any proper update or collection email.
I have already contacted HMV’s support team, but instead of receiving an actual response or explanation, I keep receiving automated notifications saying that my ticket has been updated, without any useful information about where my order actually is.
I understand that delays can happen, but the lack of communication is incredibly frustrating. I have been left repeatedly checking my emails and having to chase HMV myself just to find out what is happening with an order I have already paid for. Customers shouldn’t have to go through this just to get a basic update.
I really hope HMV can improve their communication and customer service because this has been a very frustrating experience.

No email communication for collect from store items
My husband didn't recieve his birthday gift in time due to communication issue. I ordered 3 separate bundles online on the same day using the click and collect service. The day or so after I received an 'items dispatched' email for all 3 orders but only one 'ready to collect' email a couple of days after that (picturing only 3 of the 10 items I had ordered in total). I didn't travel to the store to collect 1 bundle as wantes to wait for complete order. The after waiting 10 days I went to the store and all my items had been sat waiting for me all along, they just hadn't emailed me 🙄
