Had my booking cancelled 20 minutes before I was scheduled to pick the van up. Was notified by email, not even text. No explanation for the cancellation so I’ve had to hire a more expensive vehicle last minute, awful service, stay away

I made reservations yesturday around 7pm. I needed van from today 6am, is 9am now I still not get confirmation and code. I just get email yesterday that they have to verify my document. I called to customer service and they said that reservation is declined. Veery poor quality service, I just wested my time!!

A few minor bumps in the road but over all a great experience. Finding the fuel card pin was a faff but once I'd downloaded the app everything went much smoother.
Even the help offered 2 hours later when I realised I'd left my house key in the van was brilliant. I called and they remotely opened the van so I could retrieve my keys.
Was dubious about using the 24/7 service but after a large furniture store couldn't deliver (but I could collect) I was left with little choice. 109 miles driven and 4.5 hours of rental for £90. Great service and would use again.

Took over £200 pounds off us to rent a van for less than a day. Charged us £99.15 and never gave the £110 back. When speaking to the customer service agent they said they have never seen the money and refusing to pay it back. Worse experience of my life and disgusting that they refuse to pay you back what's owed. Don't use this company!!!!

Rental of van cancelled 12 minutes before due to pick it up the message stated customer services would contact me shortly with an alternative. They didn't and after over 30minutes of listening to inane music somebody answered to tell me the van was no longer available and wouldn't be for the immediate future.
This ruined the whole day of plans.
Then received an email saying I had cancelled and would be liable for the rental cost.
Hertz your a complete joke if I don't get my money back see you in court

This company used to be good. Used their van hire a few times with no issues whatsoever. However this time I had an absolute nightmare. I've had my licence for well over 12+ years and have stayed at my current address for 6 years. Everything is clean - but they said my reservation got declined as they couldn't verify my identity! Tried 3 times, spoke to them on the phone, tried a different address, different email, different number and no resolution, just straight decline when absolutely nothing in my details has changed at all. Wont be using these clowns again

WHAT A JOKE OF A COMPANY
I wanted to simply hire a van for a couple of hours at a local B&Q, one week later I am still trying to register. Made several online attempts, tried to call customers services, sent emails.... and nothing. Obviously not interested in attracting new customers. If that is the case then please do the decent thing and say that you are not accepting new customers on your website, rather than making me waste several hours of my time.

No humans to contact. They do not respond to emails. The phoneline tells you to send them an email no matter which option you choose. I have tried for a year now to cancel membership. Trying to cancel online via their website does not work because their system repeatedly gives you an error message saying 'cannot cancel membership'. In the mean time they continue to take money from my account and send me invoices for a membership I have tried over and over again to cancel. Avoid this company they are criminal.

Hertz have today taken An unauthorized payment from my credit card. This is theft and I have reported this theft with my bank who are taking action.

Still no response whatsoever from Hertz to any of my emails.

Having read through many reviews below it is clear THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. Once they have your card details you cannot cancel the unwanted ‘membership’ and they will continue charging you for years.

I wish I'd read the reviews before booking with these clowns.

I booked a van only to receive an email the next day saying I'd cancelled the booking. Upon speaking to the most hopeless customer assistant (Jane) it transpired the vehicle was no longer available, no reason offered why. Rather than try to help me secure another vehicle or let me speak to amanager hopeless Jane showed how little she cared about customers and kro saying there's nothing she could do. I've never dealt with such a poor company and now have the struggle of getting back the £103 they've taken from my bank account for a van they've cancelled. YOUVE BEEN WARNED, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Booked a van, then got an email a couple of hours before I was due to pick it up saying my membership had been rejected, no details of why. Called customer services and spoke to a bunch of useless people who weren’t interested in helping, all on terrible lines, could barely understand any of them and I got passed around and told to call a different number each time. The last number I was given wouldn’t let you speak to a human no matter what option you pressed. Useless company and the app and process is a complete waste of your time. Would advise anyone to go elsewhere and avoid Hertz at all costs.

Incredibly bad experience with these people. We arrived in Wigan on August 15th to arrange storage of some goods bought at an auction. Booked a van in the morning of August 16th. Received a "Reservation Confirmation" at 10:14 followed by several affirmative messages with instructions to collect the van at 2pm. At 13:20 received this,
"Thank you for your recent application for membership with Hertz 24/7.

Hertz 24/7 is an unmanned and automated service and in order for an application to be accepted, an Identity check is processed on the details provided by the applicant, by using the name and the address provided on the application. As the check fails we cannot rent a Hertz 24/7 vehicle to you. Any booking you may have placed has been cancelled free of charge.

The £3.00 membership fee has been refunded and any preauthorisation held has been released. Please allow 3-10 working days for this to settle in your bank.

We ended up using taxis. Their customer services was not helpful either.

Shocked at these bad reviews, we thought it was a fantastic and easy system.

Picked up the van from Cardiff Costco at 9am, drove it back and forth to move house, used the fuel card with no trouble, and dropped it back off at 5pm. All for only £50, which was much much cheaper than other van rental services. We will definitely be using HERTZ 24/7 again.

A frustrating experience so far with no sign of a resolution in sight.

Booking a van from B&Q Crewe was a straight forward experience for me and in fact, it turned out to be a newish vehicle which was nice to drive. However, there was no fuel card. I phoned their helpline and a nice lady informed me that I should fill the van myself and claim the money back. Guess what...two weeks later and no-one from the company is acknowledging my emails. Despite them charging me the full amount - getting my fuel money back looks like a hopeless case at the moment.

For now I would say avoid using hertz 24/7 in Crewe; overall the experience has left a bitter taste.

Disusting. A negative star rating is required. Booked Thursday for Monday pickup, paid all fees and deposits. 11am Sunday they cancel it all, leaving me to try find a replacement van on a monday morning.

Worse, 2 weeks later I am still waiting for my refunds. Phone number has been very well hidden or even removed from their website. Emails go unanswered, not even an auto-response.

If I could give 0 stars I would have. First of all, their system was down so I had to pay for 4 hours when I'm only getting the van for 3. 5 minutes before I was due to get the code through I got a text to say the photos of proof of drivers licence were no good. Then the time got pushed back by 20 minutes. Eventually got in the van to discover no fuel card in it. Called customer services who told me they couldn't speak to me because the account wasn't in my name, then told me to put fuel in the car with my own card and claim the money back which I have absolutely no intention of doing. Then the rude "Karen" put the phone down. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Absolute disgrace of a company. Disgusting customer service.

If I could give zero stars I would. I arranged a van rental for a Saturday morning, had a confirmation email 50 mins before pick up. I called when the confirmation pin to open the van didn’t come through and was told my hire was cancelled. My driving license needed to be renewed last month (when I moved house) so I put my new address in. I had to give additional information on my license as the card was new, no problem. I was told that because I was new to the address I wasn’t able to hire, do people not use vans when they move? Do not rent from Hertz, I was left completely stuck at beyond the last minute, and wasn’t even told!

One of the worst companies I have used. Hired a van and was waiting outside the van for the passcode and got a text to say cancelled!!! Rang and they couldn't explain why, put a block on my card for £52 and even though never used the van is still pending on my account. Sent 4 e mails and no reply absolutely disgusting service hope they go out of business with customer service like this!!!!!

Half an hour into the'rental' still waiting for a code to unlock the van.
What I need the van for is time sensitive and looks like I'm going to miss it.
No customer service availability!

Terrible. They better not try to take any money from me.

Absolutely appalling service, it amazes me that they still have a business, on three occasions I’ve booked a van which was confirmed and 24 hours prior to collecting they emailed me to say that due to a technical issue with the van they had to cancel my booking, this was the same reason for the other two occasions, I emailed them as well as the CEO who have completely ignored my complaint, I will never use this cowboy outfit again .
