Hertz - Novi Road HLE Arvostelua 

Easy check out and check in. Staff was courteous and efficient.

I booked an intermediate SUV through Expedia for a week, but upon arrival at Hertz’s Novi rd michigan Road location, I was told none were available and had to pay an additional $15 per day for a standard SUV. Interestingly, when I renewed for another week, I received the same vehicle at the original rate, with no extra charge.

This inconsistency, coupled with Expedia customer service’s inability to coordinate with Hertz or assist when I considered canceling, made the experience confusing and disappointing. I expected better coordination, transparency, and customer support.

When we returned the car after 1 day (this was a rental needed since our car had emergency repairs required and we needed a car, so up to 4 days turned into 1 but shop did not know). A very small chip on the windshield, not even visible on photos was discovered with an incident filed. I have amex premium rental protection so nothing will come out of my pocket but this was ridiculous and seems to me very suspicious. Even more suspicious that i have an “incident” report but no damage report for glass repair that can be done almost instantly especially without being visible. That is inaddition to every location but airport being closed at 5pm. Our car had the repair issue at 6:30pm. Had to drive 30 miles one way past 6 locations. At least have one open a bit longer.

The local team’s responsiveness to replace my initial vehicle when the engine light came on. It was a new car and the ECU (engine control unit) failed within in 20 minutes from the time I picked up the car. The local team gave me an upgrade at the same cost.
