Hertz - Hicksville - West John Street Arvostelua 

The Hertz location at Hicksville NY was frustrating from a customer experience perspective. The staff are working hard, but they were outback prepping cars while customers were lining up and waiting in the waiting room. This was true for both pickup and return. If you are running a lean office that is fine, but there should at least be an alarm or something to alert the staff outback that customers are waiting. Also, while there is an after hours drop off box for keys, we feel like we have to wait for a staff person to turn in the keys. I waited an hour to pick up my car and 10-15 minutes to drop it off. The staff have good intentions, but management needs to evaluate workflow and customer experience.

Your customer service is one of the worst.
Also your Cars are not the best vehicles out there in the rental car industry.

Office doesn't open early enough. The office was supposed to open at 8AM and I didn't get my car and leave until 8:45AM. Car wasn't ready and needed to be vacuumed. The staff did their best under the circumstances. The 8 o'clock opening and slow service makes it impossible to rent when I have meetings in the morning and don't want to pay for an extra day.

The staff was kind and I got my rental car very quickly.

The customer representatives were customer-friendly.
The young lady and Caesar were professional. I have forgotten the young lady's name. I am sorry. She got me the best car and explained everything I needed to know about it. The lady's and Caesar's professional attitude encouraged me to recommend Hertz to my friends and neighbors.

The first car I got after I stopped at a store had a mal function light on. Took it back and they exchanged it without issue. 2nd car was nice. At drop off there wasn’t a shuttle so we were shuttled in car, they happened to use mine to shuttle us and the guy was gunning it like crazy. Then I get a bill for gas and I know he probably used half of the gas they filled my car with.

Picking up the car only one person helping someone and 4 people waiting

The car I received and the price that I paid for it were competitive, but the facility seems to be chronically understaffed, slowing the pickup process. There has been personnel turnover at this location, but I don't know the cause of the turnover. The new people are trying their best, so I give them an A for effort.

Service for picking up the vehicle was very slow. Long lines and no communications, waiting in line, then waiting at the desk because the agent needs to do something in the back area, then waiting for the car to be cleaned and sanitized, then waiting again since 2 tires were low on air. The name of the game is waiting.

Returning the car is the same. I need to speak with the agen upon returning. Long line again, waiting just to return. No communication at all. After all the waiting, then the agent decided to just collect the key and told me everything will be done thru e-mail.

Very unprofessional at this location. I would never ever rent from this location. It took me 90 minutes plus to rent and another 40 minutes just yo return. I never had this experience from other rental company even at a busy airport locations.

Understaffed and agents needs to communicate better with the customers.

Single staffer left at location to handle 6+ customers waiting. He was lovely, but shouldn't be left to handle on his own. Also having a $200+ fee to extend rental by 1 day is outrageous.

Car was dirty, they didn’t wash it at all before picking it up. The car was close to 3 years old and had 52000 miles. Not a big deal if the interior didn’t stink and the car had a very loud rattle and clunk coming from underneath the car every time it went over the slightest bump. For this kind of car and experience I could have rented with Turo.
