Customer service at the counter was great. I was welcomed and thanked for my business.
Extending my rental went without a hitch or even speaking with someone.
The only issue I did have is my company ordered a mid-size car, a “Nissan Altima” or similar. Well i got there and they had put me in a K4, which anyone who knows cars knows that is a compact car. No where near the size of an Altima. So I go back in and I say to the lady… That there was no way I was going to be able to fit in that car, and i know all you have left is SUVs. She says that is all I have. I know my company ordered a mid size car like an Altima, and the K4 is no where close to that class. She then goes to the drawer and pulls out a set of keys to a Jeep Compass. Now I understand that the Jeep Compass is still considered compact, but it is much larger than the K4. I said all of that to say. If the customer has ordered a mid-size and you do not have it, then generally you would upgrade the booking at no additional charge to the customer. I should not have had to go back inside to have this happen and to be looked at like did something wrong…

Easy pick up, great car, easy to use app to extend rental, easy return.

Car was dirty, smelled like cigarettes. Ash on passenger door frame. Asked for another car, just as dirty. Detail guy came out offered the other dirty car. He was not concerned at all, as to his failure to clean and deodorize the vehicle. Counter person, was helpful and polite, although no compensation or correction to the dirty vehicles. We paid for a "clean" vehicle, but this is not what we got. Buyer beware Would appreciate corporate reaching out.

Competent and professional staff. The car was ready, clean, & full of fuel.

The car we were upgraded to, a Volvo XC90, had malfunctioning air conditioning and the driver's seat would occasionally shift while driving. Whenever we tried to reach Hertz about the issue, no one picked up... or, if they did, they stated they had no inventory and we had to drive clear back to the airport in Detroit, not Flint (we were three hours away in northern MI), to get a different rental. Note: there were a minimum of three Hertz rentals within a 20 - 40 minute drive of our stay. Not sure if we'll use Hertz again when we travel.
