Hertz - Brooklyn - Northside Piers Arvostelua 

Absolute worst rental car location possible. Four of my past five experiences have included: 1) No car available for 4th of July weekend even though I booked it months in advance. Said they would call as soon as a car was available and never received a call. 2) Booked a pickup for Saturday (months in advance) and received a call the week of saying they would not be open on Saturday. My options were to pick up on Friday (and pay for it) or go 45 minutes out of my way to another location. 3) Vehicle type booked (months in advance) was not available. 4) Again, location called days before rental to advise they wouldn’t be open for my pickup and the offer was to go 45 mins out of my way to another location for pickup. The people are rude, not helpful and do not care about inconveniencing their customers.

The pick up location I had reserved closed for good the day before my scheduled pick up. I received a voice mail notifying me of the situation and saying that my reservation would be honored at another location. I tried to call back the number given on the voicemail, but no one picked up the phone. I tried to confirm the new pick up location using the app, but my reservation could not be located. I took my chances and walked into the alternative Hertz location. It took approximately one hour to sort through the confusion and leave with a rental car. Once I left the facility, a light on the control panel told me to check tire pressure and later another light indicated that the battery in the key fob was running low. It was extremely inefficient and unnerving. Not a great way to start a vacation.

Reserved a car weeks in advance. Was told the morning of that they had no inventory. I had to go to a wedding so I said I would take anything. They say I can use a minivan but get charged more. I was charged $150 extra for a car I didn’t want.
