Hertz - Boston - Park Plaza Arvostelua 

Terrible wait times and no solutions provided. My account was charged for two separate transactions despite the receipt from hertz showing something different and when I asked via chat for an updated receipt to reflect the total charge I was told that the amounts were correct and they would not be able to update the receipt and also would not issue a refund for the additional charges. I definitely would not recommend renting a car from this place.

The office was very busy when I arrived but the counter agent was nice, professional, and was moving quickly.

The Genesis we hoped to rent was not available. The Volvo we were assigned instead performed very well. The rental process was instantaneous since we had input all of the variables online in advance. The return was also instantaneous. We were directed where to park and walked away with no issues. A very good experience.

I left several important personal items in my rental car after returning it. I submitted a Lost & Found request, but the online form did not allow me to select the correct drop-off location, so I went to the Hertz front desk in person for help.

Unfortunately, the staff member seemed completely uninterested in helping. She repeatedly told me that lost items were not her responsibility and refused to provide any useful information—not even who else I could contact or how long the Lost & Found process typically takes.

I understand that the front desk may not directly handle lost items, but I expected at least some basic guidance or concern. Instead, I walked out feeling helpless and genuinely sad. These items are very important to me, and I still have no idea whether I will ever get them back.

This was a very disappointing experience with Hertz customer service.

I have a Hertz persidents club membership. With my most recent reservation I made through a 3rd party website, when I went there and asked for an upgrade I was not provided with one even though there were cars available. I was given a reason that because the reservation was made through a 3rd party wesite. I mean that website had a cheaper rate than the Hertz website why wouldn't I not make a reservation from there, but this doesn't change the fact I have a permium membership

They over charge me and I tried calling the office and they never picked up the phone

Perfect car. Loved that it was a hybrid. Easy pick up. I just wish your hours on the weekend were longer.

Staff is always friendly, and eager to help, car selection is great!

The 30 Park Sq Boston MA office does not answer their phone. My rental record number was 815964660. I accidentally left my EZPass transponder on the dashboard of my rental when I turned it in 9/1/26. I didn’t realize it until I got home to South Carolina that night (9/1/2026). I finally reached a live agent at Hertz (headquarters) customer service. He took all of my info, filed a report with the Boston office and told me they would email me later in the day and mail the transponder back to me. I never heard from them, nor do they answer their phone in Boston. After two days I contacted EZPassMA and cancelled that transponder and they are sending me a new one. Other than this incident my one month rental was excellent. B G, Aiken, SC

Both pick up and drop off were made as easy as possible

Overall we had a good experience. We rented a vehicle that was to be determined by the rental company and ended up with a roomy minivan. We did have some difficulties finding the location and attempted to call the office only to get voicemail. When we arrived we discovered that the office was staffed by one person who was quite busy with people renting and returning vehicles. That person was professional and helped us get our minivan. The return went smoothly. We returned the vehicle just shy of full and were charged nearly $12 a gallon for gas which was communicated when the rental was initiated. Overall, a professional experience and a great vehicle.

I was charged for gas even though I returned the car with more gas than it had when I picked it up. I have been renting from Hertz Park Plaza about 40 times per year since 2012 and have NEVER returned a car without refueling yet several times a year I am charged for gas and it is a hassle to get it corrected.

My last 2 rentals from Hertz has been so bad that I am actively looking for a new rental car company even after being a loyal renter for over 40 years. This latest rental was a drop off disaster. The Park Plaza location in Boston closes at 6pm and with an early flight in the morning, we needed to drop off over night. The customer service number was confused on whether they had after hours drop off or not. One agent said no another said yes. I only called customer service because no one at the local office would answer the phone. Even at drop off there was a sign that said no early/late drop off, but there was a box to put contract and keys. I would expect better from Hertz.
