What a Team ! Seriously this is the best camper rental i had use from start to finish.
To begin, our first trip was cancelled in October when the airline company deleted the flight, but lucky for us, HappyCamper policy allowed us to book later during the year, what a relief. So we finally came in April and everything was nice and smooth, we land during the Easter holidays first weekend, the team was nice, quick and professional, even if they were understaff at this moment ! Cheers to them, they were adorable.
The camper van Happy 1 ex auto was brand new, drive like a charm, and was of course so cosy ! It didn't flinch a bit during the blizzard event which hit the Iceland during the second day.
Big Thanks to Arber who picked up us with a smile and a nice welcome the first day and to Ljiljana for guiding us through the inspection and first step of the van.
I hope the team enjoyed the little Madeleine easter egg and 🍪 we bring us to you from our hometown ☺️.
Can't wait to come back in Iceland and take again a happy camper van.

Vw crafter, 1,5 weeks. Five person family. Dispite of the unfunctional extra inverter, trip was a success. Car worked as it was supposed to, heater and the fridge were great. Passenger side front door was a bit squeeky but nothing more. The interior in the back was easy to deal with when fixing beds and table. Everything was clean enough.

It was a nice experiance with Happycampers.
Specialy, i have to mention a great job and a lot of information about trip from Ljiljana and Marina.

Wanrning ! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I made an appointment with Happy Camper to service my motorhome and was given an appointment for Saturday 11th April 2026 at 8.00 am. The appointment was then passed over to a garage next door to Happy camper called Fast Lane Autocare Autocentres. I had to go from Ormskirk to Chorley to pick the motorhome up then from Chorley to St Helens to Fast Lane Autocare. I was bombarded with txts from Fast Lane Autocare as to being on time for the appointment. I turned up at 7.45am to a garage all locked up . i could see a few cars outside and a guy with a caravan. I waited for an hour and no one turned up to open up. Happy camper was closed aswell. I rang the two phone numbers as did the people outside with no answer. I left at 9.00am as i had enough of the waiting . decided to ring all morning till 12 noon and no answer from both companies. DO NOT USE THESE TWO COMPANIES AS THEY WILL COST YOU TIME AND MONEY. DISGUSTED AND FUMING..

Très bonne expérience avec Happy Campers. Le véhicule était top et bien équipé pour affronter les routes hivernales, ce qui est vraiment rassurant dans ces conditions.

L’équipe est au top, la communication est fluide et l’accueil chaleureux. Nous avons également apprécié le grand choix de matériel prêté.

Petit conseil : bien vérifier le matériel avant de partir pour éviter toute mauvaise surprise une fois en route.

Gros point positif également pour la flexibilité du retour en dehors des heures, très pratique en cas d’imprévu.

Overall, our experience traveling around Iceland with the camper van was very beautiful. The van allowed us to explore incredible landscapes and enjoy the freedom of moving around the country, which made the trip memorable.

However, the customer service was unfortunately disappointing in several moments.

When we arrived, we had difficulty finding the meeting point. We called for assistance, but instead of receiving clearer directions, we were repeatedly told to “read the email.” The problem was that we had already been waiting at the meeting point indicated in the email for more than an hour and no one showed up. In that situation, more helpful guidance would have been greatly appreciated.

Additionally, we paid extra for the inverter, but it was not working during the trip.

At the end of the rental, we informed the staff that we would arrive slightly late due to traffic. When we arrived at 16:45, the office was already closed and the employees were outside. We were ready to leave the van without a formal check-out if needed, but when we asked for instructions on how to proceed, Ljiljana simply replied that the office was closed and that her work shift had already finished, without giving us any guidance on what to do.

The trip itself was wonderful and the camper experience in Iceland is fantastic, but the lack of assistance and courtesy from the staff significantly affected the overall service experience.

Disgusted with service ,went to collect van after it being serviced and door lock was hanging off ,denied how this was done .collected it 2 weeks later ,inspected it when we got home and kitchen tap was missing they denied all resposibity and weve had to sort it ourselves ,never ever use this company

We had a great experience with Happy Campers from start to finish. The van was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The team was super friendly and helpful, and the pick-up and drop-off process was smooth and easy.
We would definitely choose them again and highly recommend Happy Campers to anyone looking for a stress-free campervan experience!

My daughter and I rented one of Happy Campers smallest vans for our week in Iceland. The van was well configured and maintained, and served our needs nicely! The staff was helpful and courteous.

We rented a camper to travel around Iceland, and our experience couldn’t have been better. From the very beginning, we felt truly well taken care of. Bartosz picked us up at the airport and explained everything clearly, with great positive energy — the perfect start to our adventure.

The camper was absolutely perfect — we didn’t have a single problem during the whole trip. It gave us total peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy Iceland to the fullest.

When we returned the camper at the end of our journey, Ola greeted us. Even after a long day of work, she was kind and patient with us, which we really appreciated after so many hours on the road.

We highly recommend this company — they were a key part of making our trip to Iceland truly unforgettable.

So helpful and friendly. Had the accessories I needed for my camper and gave me great advice.

Do not rent a van from happy campers. Their vans are not safe and you will end up paying out of pocket to fund the repairs / maintenance of these vehicles.

When we got our first van, there was multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the "check engine" light. We alerted customer service but they said not to worry about it. Fast forward several days to when our van completely stopped working:

1. They offer "24 hour road side assistance". However, this means you can call their hotline and they will send out a local mechanic that you pay for. We were charged $520 USD for a mechanic to come out for 5 minutes, and he did not fix anything.

2. No matter what, they will say it was your fault that the van broke down. First they told us that we must have left too many electronics plugged into the car and the battery died. However, jumping the vehicle did not fix the issue. Once Happy Campers realized the battery wasn't the problem, they asked us what country we were from....Since we are from the United States, they automatically decided that we put gasoline in the diesel engine (diesel handles are green in America, whereas the gas lever is green in Iceland). We were very cautious, are 100% confident we did not put gasoline in the tank, and have the receipts to prove it.

3. The company is demeaning and untrustworthy. We told them there is no way we put gasoline in the engine and offered to provide every single receipt showing we only used diesel. However, the manager said he didn't care about what the receipts showed and that it was our fault hands down.

4. Happy Campers is fraudulent and manipulative. Since we were stranded, the only solution was to have another van driven out. However, they were only willing to assist us after forcing us to sign a document "admitting fault" and charging over $4,000 USD for the second vehicle. Please note: second vehicle also had the check engine light on.

It took 24 hours to get the second vehicle and we missed many spots that we were really looking forward to on our trip to Iceland. I will say, Iceland is amazing and we loved every aspect of the trip except for Happy Campers.

I strongly recommend going with another van company for your own safety. The "24 hour road side assistant" admitted that most of their vehicles have multiple warning lights illuminated at all times.

Well-equipped camper van, but unreliable as it broke down in the wilderness due to alternator/electrical failure. It took 5 hours to get a replacement vehicle. Vans don't seem to be well-maintained.

They provide very poor service with violent demeanor and intimidation for their own benefit. At first they wanted to peovide us with an unroadworthy car and later they charged us 2200 USD for supposed damages to their vehicle? Do not go with them.

I recently rented a camper from HappyCampers and had a great experience from start to finish. The booking was easy, and the team was helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. David, in particular, was awesome he made sure I had all the info I needed before the trip and quickly answered any questions I had along the way.

The camper itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a smooth trip around Iceland. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional, which made the whole experience even better.

Highly recommend HappyCampers if you're planning a camper trip in Iceland. I'd definitely rent from them again!

Contacted Bart on a Sunday (forgetting it was a Sunday) a few months back with an enquiry via Whatsapp and to my astonishment he replied within 5 mins even tho he was in France, again made an enquiry over the fone last week and again was a great help, talking me through how to fix a blockage on my hot water system, met him today and his lovely wife and they could not be more helpful, couldn't recommend highly enough, most definitely a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating, great people to deal with..🙂

Horrible customer service

Generally, we have quite positive experience with Happy Campers even though we had some issues with our camper van during our 15 days rent. But they helped us every time, their people are also kind and helpful and they even compensated us for some of the troubles we had. We will gladly use them again.

We had a tent so not a campervan. We arrived and it looked like a garbage field.
We did not want to make food, shower, go to the toilet. Very dirty. It was very uncomfortable staying there so luckely we left.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Happy Campers that I feel compelled to warn other potential renters about. What was supposed to be an exciting adventure turned into a series of frustrations and unexpected expenses.

Delayed Pickup:
Our rental began on a bad note with a delayed pickup. Despite the booking confirmation email stating an 8:00 AM pickup from our accommodation in Keflavik, the van didn’t arrive until after 8:30 AM. The Happy Campers support team stated that we should have seen the 8:15 pickup time stated on the website, although this conflicts with the email confirmation we received. This delay caused us to miss our activity reservation.

Hygiene and Faulty Equipment:
The condition of the camper van was appalling. Upon pickup, the interior was dirty with noticeable dirt and hair. We had to extensively clean the cooking tools and utensils before use, and several advertised items were missing altogether. The provided sheets were stained, and all the zippers were broken, which compromised cleanliness and comfort. Sharp metal was protruding from the corner of a bench, which damaged multiple pairs of our outdoor pants and posed a serious safety hazard.

Shortly after starting our journey, the cooking pan broke off its handle, rendering it unusable. Despite reaching out via the chat function on the provided tablet, support was unhelpful in locating a replacement store. We were unable to cook meals for a few days until we could find an open store to purchase a replacement pan ourselves, adding unnecessary stress to our trip. We were told reimbursement would be possible with a receipt although we have not received this yet.

Tablet Malfunction and Navigation Errors:
The tablet provided as part of the rental package was more of a hindrance than a help. It frequently disconnected from WiFi, and halfway through our trip, the navigation function ceased to operate altogether. In attempts to visit Happy Campers’ suggested waterfalls, the tablet directed us onto unsafe private roads on two occasions, resulting in our camper getting stuck for hours and requiring emergency roadside assistance which cost us $821. This would not have happened if the tablet had provided reliable directions.

The Happy Campers support team responded to this concern by saying that the tablet GPS is known to be faulty. If we had known that the service was unreliable then we would have happily used Google Maps on our own devices to navigate more efficiently.

Overall, these issues severely impacted our travel experience. We spent over $1000+ USD and several hours of our vacation time due to the faulty equipment that was provided with our rental. I reached out to customer support after our trip and was disappointed and shocked to hear that they seemed to blame us for most of the issues we experienced during our rental.
Considering the magnitude of these issues, I requested reimbursement for some of the expenses incurred due to their faulty service and equipment. However, the resolution process has been slow and unresponsive.

I cannot recommend Happy Campers to anyone. Their lack of cleanliness, faulty equipment, and unhelpful support made what should have been a memorable trip into a series of headaches and financial losses. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different rental company.
