Pretty comprehensive selections of books, though I was disappointed by how few hardbacks they stock. Of course they put preference to the new and hackneyed bestsellers. I like the paper cards below books bearing comments of the staff. The Charing Cross store is a modern marvel, though part of me misses the rats maze of earlier incarnations.

Jade provided the most excellent and efficient customer service by not only answering my email within the same working day but by also identifying the root cause of the problem and bringing the matter to a successful conclusion within a matter of couple of days. Brilliant!

A very swift reply from Jade who advised although she did not have the items I wanted was able to provide me with contact details for another supplier. Excellent customer service. It was such a delight and so good to know for future that although I am not able to visit the store I can still order books via the website. Thank you. With ladies like Jade in the team its not hard to see why Foyles remains such a great bookselling institution.

I placed an order in December 2022 which has not yet been delivered. I sent an email to support and was contacted by Lisa. She replaced the order without delay and was apologetic for the delay in getting my parcel to me.

She confirmed that the replacement order has already been picked and that I would be able to track it once dispatched.

She was friendly and courteous and resolved the issue the first time.

Placed an order and heard absolutely nothing more for weeks whilst my payment was stuck in 'pending' in PayPal. Nearly five weeks after ordering, I finally had a reply from them to say my order had been cancelled but I hadn't been told.

They did deal with my stuck payment quickly once they eventually picked up my emails, but it was overall a very poor experience.

I was surprised to have such a poor experience with Foyles. Foyles missed multiple delivery dates and took 10 days to respond when I first reached out to them. My items were delivered more than a month after I placed them, with part of the order cancelled.

Foyles did not offer a goodwill gesture. They told me I should have known that they upgraded their systems - even though I'm not a Foyles employee.

I will be supporting independent businesses going forward. I strongly recommend anyone looking to purchase books from this company does the same.

On 3rd November 2022 I ordered and paid for a book on Landlord Law that I urgently needed. I paid the extra postage to ensure it would be delivered within 2 - 3 business days. I emailed Foyles on 11th November to say I hadn't received it. I received an automated email, saying someone would get in touch soon. It's now the 19th November and I've received no book or had any further contact from Foyles. Instead of emailing I thought I would ring them, however it states you can longer contact them via phone. What a disgrace, they take your money and leave you waiting...Fortunately, I paid through PayPal so have applied for a full refund. I gave Foyles one star only because there was no option to give 'no stars'. Foyles you should be ashamed of yourselves, taking people's money and not delivering their goods or responding adequately to their enquiries.

I lost my Foyalty card, which had a large number of points on it. Customer services - email and phone - were friendly and helpful and I have promptly received a new card in the post with my points transferred to it - despite the fact that I do not have an account, so finding the card details required a bit of work. Thank you.

ERRONEOUS ADVERTISING AND NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I ordered a number of books on the 7th of November with an estimated 3-5 business days delivery advertised on their website. In my confirmation email it says most of the books will arrive between the 21st of Nov to 2nd of December so more like 28 days delivery. I emailed customer support twice to cancel my order but no reply. I have sent a chaser but no reply. Best to avoid this company for online deliveries.

I regularly buy books as raffle prizes for our Arts Society. Of course I try to relate the prizes as closely as possible to the Lecture or other activity in hand. This is sometimes a challenging task when a very specialised subject is on the agenda. Usually all goes very smoothly but in this instance there were genuine problems in sourcing the specialist books in time and I had, with regret, to cancel. I sent off the message late yesterday evening, and by around 08:00 this morning I had a most helpful and courteous reply from the team (Lisa, in fact) cancelling the order and reassuring me that no funds had been taken. I genuinely could not have asked for a quicker or better service.

I ordered a book through Waterstones, but it never arrived. However, rang their customer care (which must be this company - Foyles) and received brilliant customer care and were also kind enough to call the store, reserve my copy and give me £3.01 credit, so I could buy the signed edition at the original price of my order.

Although there was some delay in my order, the customer support were incredibly helpful with keeping me up to date with everything happening and made sure I was on top of all the details.

I always get wonderful service from Waterstones. Very responsive and timely considering I am in Canada.
