Horrible. Bunch of crooks. New build home with mold coming out the walls and skirting board destroying our belongings and furniture.

Misaligned doors, flooring needed to be replaced on the first day we moved in! Drainage issues from day one. We bought at Hammerly Farm, our neighbors also having a terrible experience - reported to the LABC and starting legal action against them. Look forward to seeing you in court. Avoid these lot.

Foreman homes have been absolutely fab from start to finish. I would like to give a big huge shout out to Dawn Ashfield in the sales team. She has been fantastic and was there every step of the way to purchasing our new first home. Dawn was always there on hand for any help or advice. Big massive thank you. The foreman home builders have also been very helpful and shout out to Kevin. Highly recommend.

put a deposit of £1000 for Hammerley farm Plot 17. Pulled out on Good Friday.
I had numerous issues with the parking layby ( my allocated space) no where to safely exit or enter my vehicle only road. Lamposts appeared in the garden. Told they would move it to the opposite pavement only to find it less than a foot away from my front windows. Not prepared to move it. Friend who is a bricky highlighted poor workmanship on the build.
Shoddy pointing at the rear. 3 rows of bricks ,(kitchen window )above the soldier bricks have been removed and stuffed back in. All uneven and rubbish pointing ( clearly something was wrong with the build or didn't meet building standards.
Told the brickwork had been dealt with only to find a different coloured pointing mortar had been smaredover the original poor pointing. This can be seen clearly from a far.
When I said I would get a survey done I was advised that it had the building warranty which can cover any defaults.
Overall I was told it's only cosmetic issues.
Something I wouldn't expect on a new build. Asked as a gesture of good will to refund my deposit but this has been refused.
The companies Ethos isn't worth the website it's written on. They don't give a fig about their reputation or their customers.

Quick summary - we love our new home because of where we live and the community is lovely, however we will never buy a new build from Foreman homes again. Here’s why…

We reserved our new home with Foreman homes in June and were very excited to buy our first home, however by the time we completed we were already exhausted and blissfully unaware of all the frustrations yet to come. We were told we should be in around the end of July as they wanted to exchange within 30 days. With this in mind we gave our notice on our flat we were renting to move out mid August and quit our jobs as we were moving from London to Hampshire. Foreman Homes and their solicitors are painful, taking forever to answer some queries and just not answering others at all. The day before we were due to exchange, Foreman’s solicitors changed our contract, however did not actually send us the revised contract for another 4 days (initially sending the wrong one). This delayed completion even further as they insist on a minimum of 3 weeks between exchange and completion (other new build developments allow this on the same day!). When we tried to keep to our original completion date as they had delayed exchange and we were staying on a friends couch, they were rude and unhelpful. We ended up moving in mid-September, not July!

Prior to completion, we had a ‘home demonstration’ where we were allowed to look around our new home and were ‘showed how it worked’. A complete waste of time as Joe, the man doing the demonstration, didn’t have a clue about the things we wanted to know like how the solar panels work, how to turn off the gas, where the water meter was, but was able to show us how to turn on the shower and hob. We started to pick up things then like the absolutely terrible paintwork throughout the house (gloss work covered in emulsion, runs of paint down the doors, areas not even painted at all), however were told that we had to stand in the middle of the room and if we couldn’t see a defect from there then it wasn’t an issue. We were told we were not allowed to snag until we had moved in (however now moved in have been told we’ve been living in it so won’t be able to tell the difference between general use from us and poor work from them). There was lots of glaringly obvious issues, for example a 5cm chunk off of the work surface in the utility however were told this was just wear and tear as it was a show home.

The week we moved in our garage/utility flooded. There was a good inch of water covering the entire garage, soaking everything inside including furniture we had just bought. The site manager was great and came straight away to clear out the garage and resolve the issue of a blocked mains drain running the length of the street. However, we later found out from neighbours it had flooded prior to us moving in as well so this was already a known issue that they had not resolved. Nearly 2 months on and our garage is still smelly, mouldy and waiting to be sorted. Other neighbours have had issues with leaks in their garages and were told they aren’t supposed to be watertight as they are only meant to be used for storing a car in (another comment from Joe). A floored argument seeing as it doubles as a utility room at the back.

Part of our negotiation of buying the house was that Foreman Homes would properly prepare and turf the rear garden (a point we were very clear on). If you are considering having them do this, just don’t. It is incredibly uneven, neighbours have told us it was laid on top of rotavated rubble, brambles and tree roots. Now its been raining lots its very boggy and doesn’t drain properly, it is stoney… the list is endless!

Since moving in, they have managed to sort some things.. a new bathroom floor as the first was laid wonky, new tiles as some had been cracked and just left, new outside tap as it was constantly leaking, however the list remains long. Going by what we’ve been told by neighbours, the wait to get it all sorted will certainly be even longer (if it even gets sorted at all).
