Poor post purchase experince
I visited Foray Taunton to buy a Ford Focus costing £25,500. From the start, the experience was not as I expected. Not even the offer of a cup of coffee whilst dealing with the paperwork. No ability to negoriate the price because I was not using their expensive finance.
Two weeks after collecting the vehicle, the front driver's tyre pressure sensor lit up. I took it to my local garage, who said possibly leaking around the valve. Pointed out that I had budget tyres on the vehicle. I ordered a set of new tyres which arrived two days later. My garage rang me to say that when taking off the front driver tyre, the alloy was cracked and had been taped on the inside. When I rang Foray Taunton, they said that they had carried out all the pre sale checks and the vehicle was fine when I collected it. The implication was that I had done the damage and taped the wheel myself and was trying to put it on them. As a goodwill gesture they suggested that they would pay 50% of the cost of a new wheel and pay to have it painted. They had to get the wheels painted before I took collection because they were badly kerbed, so they had the opportunity to see the cracked alloy. All in all, this completely spoiled what should have been a great experience. Bearing in mind the price of the vehicle, I didn't expect this treatment.
Extremely disappointing experience following engine replacement
I entrusted Edwards Ford Salisbury (Foray Motor Group) with my Ford Fiesta ST200 for warranty investigation following the installation of a brand new Ford service engine.
The vehicle ultimately remained with Ford from 10 November 2025 until 24 December 2025 after the first replacement engine developed an oil leak and was deemed faulty. A second engine was installed under warranty.
Unfortunately the condition in which the vehicle was returned to me was extremely disappointing. Shortly after collection a number of serious issues became apparent.
The front knock sensor had not been connected at all and was found hanging beneath the inlet manifold. This caused the ECU to operate in a persistent timing retard strategy and significantly affected the way the engine ran.
The Teflon direct injection injector seals had also not been replaced despite being single use components. This resulted in compression loss which caused heavy misfiring and eventually a breakdown.
More concerning was the discovery that three of the four steering rack to subframe bolts were loose and effectively finger tight. These are safety critical fasteners and their condition directly explained the vague steering feel present when the vehicle was returned.
These issues raise serious questions about the quality control and final inspection procedures carried out before the vehicle was released.
Concerns regarding the vehicle were first raised with the dealership in January 2026. A formal complaint was then submitted to Edwards Ford on 18 February 2026. I followed this up again on 24 February 2026 requesting confirmation that the complaint had been logged and asking for a written response.
As of 5 March 2026 I have received no acknowledgement or response.
Given the length of time the vehicle spent with the dealership and the nature of the faults discovered afterwards, the overall experience has been extremely disappointing.

STEVE KERLOW the mobility rep at the priory rd salesroom nothing was to much trouble for him and RYAN the service rep was polite kind and 100% professional, I was supplied with a video feed of the vehicle inspection whilst my day was not inconvenience being supplied with a courtesy car in fact I also have to commend the lad who carried out the service in a prompt and thorough manner.

Lack of communication left me out of pocket
I took my vehicle in to have paintwork carried out and the whole process felt poorly managed.
The biggest issue was that the vehicle was MOT’d without my permission or prior approval. This should never happen without clear consent and it left me feeling frustrated and disregarded as a customer.
Having a failed MOT on the vehicles history, seriously impacted the resale value on my car and could have been avoided if communication was clear.
Overall, the experience fell well below expectations and has completely put me off returning. I would not use Foray Motor Group again.

Lied to by staff and then blamed it on the member of staff being an apprentice and that he shouldn’t have given that information out and that’s despite him checking with a “manager” before doing so.
Trying to actually get to speak to anyone is a nightmare as the phones just ring and ring for ages.
Trying to book your car in for a service is a nightmare with 2 month lead times.
There seems to be a lot of chiefs and a lack of Indians at this company.

Accident Repair Voucher
Let me start by saying that I have no issue with FMG’s Hine accident repair workshop in Shaftesbury who were great and made a good job of the repair to my vehicle.
However, when I tried to use a 25% discount voucher (from Tony Smith of Foray Motor Group repair centres) with T&Cs which definitely covered the work being carried out, I was told that it didn’t apply because “it only applies to full retail quotes”! As a retail customer, I found this to be somewhat surprising but was told that Hine somehow don’t work on the full retail rate….?! Not sure how I was expected to know this but beware - if you have one of these vouchers do NOT expect it to be honoured.

went in with a electronic issue the car was in limphome mode. all lights were on. street ford said take it to a master mechanic. :-) that was in yeovil.
they said we do the alternator and £1500 later that will be fixed. bit much but figured it was ford professionals. they rang back said that didnt fix it but they wont put the old alternator back and charge me for the £1500 then they said they need to check the wiring again which they already did. now £400 or more later they said its a contact. now £500 more
but no that didnt fix it so lets check wiring loom again ahh found it £900 or more now at about £2900ish. I can show people the bills. they said come collect it I did went 100yards and a light came on. I said hey there is a light.
he said ahh that was already there I said I know all lights came on you were meant to fix it he said no that will be investigation and fix investigation is about £132/hour. i thought screw that I'll just take it cant afford to get more ripped off.
went home next morning car wouldnt start. rang ford they said yeah it will cost to pickup and investigate.

I called RAC to change battery £240 later all fixed
my point is the master mechanic so called didnt even change the battery
fords require a battery change roughly 5 years
so got rippid off
if you dont take this onboard that is fine but you will be ripped off here buying a car is always a happy experience try fixing one here never again

Love the car but let down by the warrenty
Staff in the Bridgwater branch were lovely, despite now moving away. The car is great and we were given a 12-month warranty that we were assured covered everything except brake pads and tyres. There was a leak in the car, which was soaking the rear seats and causing condensation and mould, despite constant efforts to keep it dry. Rang up, and was told leaks were not included. Very disappointed as they were unwilling to help and blatantly lied about the warranty cover.

My Ford Mondeo had a recall on it for Air bags and front brake hoses so i took it to the Brigwater Foray Ford garage for the repair on 28/3/25. Luckily for me my Mondeo had done only a few miles when it went into my local garage for it's annual service on11/4/25 while there i received a phone call to say the off side brake pipe was leaking brake fluid so i asked them to repair it while they had the car which was done. It dose not bare thinking about what could of happened if the car had not gone in for the service and the leak had not been found. The Brakes could of failed due to the lack of fluid and if the wife and grandchildren had been in the car?. 12/4/25 I contacted Ford and a manager called me back i explained what had been found and he apologized and said Our technician's are trained to a high standard what do you want me to do I asked him if the car could be returned for inspection of that hose he said i will receive a call to book it in. Guess what as of 18/4/25 i am still waiting for the call. The car went in for a recall and came out with what could of potentially have been a dangerous fault. Honestly i am sorry but i do not think i will use these cowboys again.
