I signed a contract with Flogas in October 2022 for my B&B at agreed rates of 38.65c day rate and 27.17c night rate.
A week later, I asked about putting the bills into my company name. I was told I could move to a commercial arrangement, but after an inspection I was advised I would need a larger fuse costing about €1,500, and the ESB Networks representative indicated I likely didn’t need it. I then informed Flogas I was not proceeding with any switch and wanted my original contract left as it was.
After that, I expected normal billing — but no bills arrived.
I repeatedly contacted Flogas for months and was told my account was “being processed.” Then, 10 months later, I received 5 bills of around €4,500 each, and money was automatically taken from my bank account.
When I checked the bills, I found I was being charged about 58c per unit instead of my contracted rates. I was then told I was “out of contract,” which I strongly dispute. My position is that I never agreed to leave my original contract, and I explicitly told them to leave it in place.
Based on my calculations, I was overcharged by €13,775.
I switched supplier, cancelled the direct debit, and disputed a further bill of €4,450 because I believe Flogas owes me money, not the other way around.
I then received a solicitor’s demand for payment. I responded explaining the overcharging and dispute, and I also contacted Flogas directly. Neither has responded.
In my view, this raises serious questions about billing practices, contract handling, and consumer protection. I am sharing this publicly because I believe this needs scrutiny, and because no customer should face legal threats while disputing what they believe is substantial overcharging.
Thank you for the response, but this matter has already been under review for a long time.
My complaint is not complicated: I was billed at approximately 58c per unit despite having a contract at 38.65c day / 27.17c night, I was left without bills for 10 months despite repeated calls, I was then hit with multiple large back-bills, and I calculate I was overcharged by €13,775.
I have already provided this information, including my dispute of the solicitor’s demand. What I need now is not another acknowledgment that my complaint has been logged, but a substantive response addressing the overcharging, the contract issue, and when this matter will be resolved.
I would appreciate a clear timeline for a full response.

Flogas what a joke customer service terrible after agreeing with them on a final figure and a payment plan it has taken 2 years they are changing their mind again I have paid 209.59 of a 809 59 as part of my payment plan and Now they are saying it is 956 euro what is going on with that company terrible terrible terrible company I am at a loss of what to do about them my stress levels are tru the roof.

My contract finished with Flogas on November 25 2026. Since then I have been in contact with this company many times in an effort to retrieve credit of over € 500 due to me. The last notification was from Flogas on February 25 stating that it owed me this amount but four months after finishing the contract, there has been no payment. On multiple occasions I have been informed payment may take 8 weeks. A completely unacceptable situation.

I signed up for Flogas on 13-April and got a call from my service provider that I am still in contract and switching would mean I will have to pay an exit fee and welcome bonus, amounting to €350.
Ever since I have been calling Flogas everyday to cancel the switch (includes emailing them, prioritising the case to P1, getting the case escalated to senior agents), each time the wait is for more than 30 mins on average and the customer service has no clue when the cancellation will be done. Today after pressing for an escalation I was told the matter is with Senior Agents but a few hours later I received an email that cancellation will take another few days.
This is too frustrating that a simple request takes days and still there is no concrete ETA.

Despite numerous requests for a refund that is due to me since 19 09 2025 they still have not refunded me. I've been kept waiting on the phone on average 1hour and even though they've agree that this delay in processing the refund is unacceptable they still haven't refunded me. They show a total disregard for their customers which leaves me wondering if all the money I've paid them whilst a customer was valid! I will never, ever be a customer of Flogas again and I would strongly urge everyone to not engage with them!

Was told in one of the phoncalls my direct debit will be put on hold for a month just for them to charge me the full amount 2 weeks later. I'm absolutelly furious.

Iv been trying to get a bill issued since 18/11/2025 and can't count all the call and email promising me a bill and to this date nothing.

If I could give no stars - I would. Flogas is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Joined in Jan. Have not got a bill yet. Emailed a few weeks ago. No one got back to me. Rang last week to be told that my mprn number is live but not in my name. He told he could not discuss it with me ‘due to GDPR’. I sent a formal complaint- still no reply. I have now just 1 hour on the phone- 50 mins of that was waiting. Was fobbed off again and transferred to sales- she was able to tell me there was an error and wanted to transfer me back again to customer service-.

We made a complaint about the level of service last August. Our issue has still not been fully resolved.We are still awaiting transcripts of all phone calls. Flogas disputed our previous review on Trustpilot and we challenged and our review was approved. We still await reaching an acceptable outcome.

Joined Flow Gas in December signed up no issues, a few weeks later no details about Gas account, ring the customer support a hour waiting to speak to someone. A few weeks later contacted them in relation to setting up a payment plan, on phone for 1 hour again got talking to support, then told no you’ll have to talk to credit department so put back on hold for another 40 mins then called hung up as it was 17:30. Ring again a following week on hold for 1 hour 20mins, eventually get talking to someone and got both accounts set up for a payment plan. was promised a call back on the Friday to confirm all in order to.. nothing. 2 weeks later issued a bill for €154.03 despite a payment plan being set up for Gas and Electricity account, lodge a complaint with complaints on Friday last week get a email saying they’ll need 21 days to get back to me. I have had enough, if I could get out of the contract I would, stay away if you have any sense. Shocking support.

Thanks to Flo Gas for reaching out and we came to an understanding, hopefully that’ll be honoured. I do however find it very strange that they unable to offer a payment plan if you have a digital smart meter.

UPDATE on below: Had to ring Flogas again this morning. Emailed the address that was given in the reply to my first review and heard nothing back from them. When I called this morning was told the order will be 100% scheduled for next week, which I was told last week. Looks like a great deal on paper but not worth it when they don’t get in touch with you about the systems you pay for not being installed and not being able to fill your tank. Waiting since the beginning of March for a fill of gas. Would avoid if looking for a gas provider!!
Moved into my home and went with Flogas as a gas customer as I liked what they were offering for new customers. I was supposed to have an automatic filling system which apparently was never set up but I was never informed. Only found out when I got in touch with Flogas to find out at what level does the automatic order go in as I started to run low. When asked why something like this would happen I was told the “installation can fall through the cracks”. It’s been over a month since I was in touch with this Flogas employee who told me a meeting was going to be set up about it but I have received no update and have since not been getting a reply about it. So since my device had not been activated, I had to put in the order online which is an easy process. Unfortunately, it must be a hard process to actually stick to your word and get the gas delivered as that has now also been over a month. It says to allow 5 to 15 working days for delivery which is fine, I rang to enquire after the 15 days and got through to an agent fairly quick who promised it would be here by the end of the week. No surprise that I am still waiting on my order.

I’ve had a very frustrating experience with Flogas. I was left waiting over three months for a payment issue to be followed up on, with no meaningful progress or resolution during that time.
Their website also doesn’t work properly on certain devices, which makes managing your account unnecessarily difficult.
Customer support has been equally disappointing — long waiting times when calling, only to be given the same unhelpful response each time with no real progress.
In the end, I decided to switch providers, and I’m honestly happy to pay the €50 early cancellation fee just to leave. That says a lot about how poor the overall experience has been.
I wouldn’t recommend Flogas based on my experience.

I have recently requested to requested a switch to Flogas. I too regret this decision. Weeks on and I’m none the wiser as to whether my supply is with them or my previous provider, but still being billed by previous provider. I have lost so much confidence in Flogas that I want to cancel the transfer. Flogas, if you are offering a service please do better.

I was overcharged by Flogas due to an error on their side, which they acknowledged themselves. I was informed on 5 February that my account would be corrected back to the agreed rates and that I would receive a credit for the difference, along with a €30 compensation payment for the delay.
Despite this confirmation, more than five months have passed and the refund has still not been processed.
I have repeatedly followed up, yet the issue remains unresolved. It is extremely frustrating to have an overcharge admitted but then be left waiting months to receive money that is clearly owed.
Just search for "refund" in these reviews and look at the consistent amount of people "waiting" for their refunds for months on end. Please don't use this company, ever, vote with your wallet.
Update: They reached out and proceeded to ghost me for even longer. Do not engage with this business.

Granted I am not with flogas very long, had a few bumps in the road starting off, a couple of glitches had to be sorted but Susan was absolutely brilliant, she went beyond the call of duty to rectify the problem, she is a brilliant assist to flogas, she was a pleasure to deal with .

I would give even lower, if possible. We were customers for electricity. They failed to process the direct debit properly and then failed to inform us there was a problem. Over a short period they issued multiple successive bills with each bill then followed up by multiple charges and penalties because of their own failure to process the direct debit properly. They had it as Barclay's rather than Bank of Ireland for a house in the Republic of Ireland. This cost us about 300 Euro. Once we could, we switched. The accound was in credit and had enough to cover electricity usage. The switch was processed a few days before the end of contract and Flogas sent an immediate notice that there would be a clawback of the cashback and an exit fee. We canceled the switch within the period, requested a new bill reflecting this, and waited until we were several weeks out of contract before reinitiating a switch. We received a bill subsequent to the first switch with penalties and have received two notices that they will send the bailiffs and that they will cut of the electricity, which they cannot do as we are now with another supplier who have confirmed that Flogas have no right or mechanism for so doing. They have not issued a revised or a final bill reflecting the actual end of contract and completed switch, even though more than a month has passed. We have initiated three complaints procedures two of which we were informed within two days had been 'resolved' but without any information as to what the resolution was. There has been no acknowledgement of the third complaint after two weeks. It is practically impossible to get anyone on the phone, but after waiting hours we managed to do so 6 times. Each time we were sent from pillar to post with no service responsible for our problem. Twice the calls dropped in the middle of discussions and there was no call back. On the four occasions we did succeed in explaining the situation, the operator agreed that we were in the right, that they could see in the system that we were not subject to the charges, and that a new bill should be issued. Yet we still received a threat of being cut off yesterday.
