Fit2travel Arvostelua 

Took out insurance with fit2travel in December 2019 - they refuse any refund as apparently its my fault that I'd not seen the current pandemic in my crystal ball. Just another rip off insurance company.

Renewed our annual travel insurance policy in good faith in Feb and even upgraded the policy from Gold to Platinum! Booked a villa in Feb and paid a 2k deposit. Had to cancel in Aug due to the FCO guidance of only essential travel is made to Ibiza. Contacted Fit2travel about obtaining a refund and were advised we were not covered even though their website did state any travel booked prior to March should not be affected by Covid related claims. We were advised on the phone not to travel and not to pay the balance. So, if we had travelled, we would not be insured and it also turns out we are not insured when we don’t travel, so we were screwed either way, what is the point in paying for travel insurance. We submitted a complaint and were advised it could take 8 weeks to investigate, however we received a reply the very same day, not much investigation gone into our complaint! We have now escalated this to the FSA. This company is absolutely disgraceful to deal with, the 97% of 1 star reviews say it all. They don’t even deserve 1 star, the policies are not fit for purpose and they are not fit to call themselves a travel insurance company!

Fit2travel don't recommend to anyone. All they care is to get your money.
I needed to cancel my holiday because of death in the family, my sister suddenly died, sent them dead certificate and they still don't want to do refund.
They don't care if someone died or not all they care is money to get from you.
Disgusting insurance company. Even in case of death they don't do refunds what to expect for some other reasons?

I had booked Platinum cover for a holiday to the US but due to the ongoing CoVid pandemic I have had to cancel. When attempting to make a claim, I have been informed that the policy will not cover cancellation due to Foreign Office advice not to travel. Fit2Travel then additionally state that if you travel against Foreign Office Advice then you will also not be covered! Can I ask what is the point of a travel insurance policy if they will not cover cancellation under these circumstances! What a complete waste of money. Their policies are not worth the paper theyre written on.

Booked my travel insurance in Jan this year for our holiday to North Cyprus which was cancelled by your operator on Tuesday 18 Aug 2020. Contacted Fit2travel on 19 Aug for refund of insurance premium. 50% refund processed into my account on 21 Aug. I believe 50% is fair, my insurance in use since Jan. Well done Fit2travel.

I booked to travel to Turkey in June but due to covid jet 2 cancelled my holiday. I booked my travel insurance with fit 2 travel at a cost of £45 for 2 weeks. I tried many times to phone them and eventually got thru and tried to cancel the policy and requested a refund. They said I would get 50% back less another £15admin charge that meant I would only get back £7.50
didn't have any choice about cancelling the holiday. I would except the £15 admin charge but to take 50% aswell is in my opinion not fair. Apart from this I have heard nothing about any refund since. Jet2 paid back the full amount of my holiday without charge. So why can't the insurance do the same its a disgrace, I will never use this company again and would advise others not to either.

Having written this revue my issue has been resolved to a satisfactory result so full credit to them for doing this promptly .

I have a travel insurance policy gold premium scheme with them but because of the pandemic, it’s been advised by the government that no travel possible to the Florida. I contacted this company and viola! My family and I are not covered for those reasons. So waste of time and money. Next time I should get a policy that covers all! Or does such policy even exists with these travel insurers???

Absolute ripoffs I set up my policy for my holiday costing £51, holiday has now been cancelled by tui, called fit2travel to cancel my policy as it is no longer needed and got told they will only refund 50% of the policy minus another 15% admin fee giving me back £11! So they get to rob me of £40 for a policy I won't be using, money for nothing! I will never use them again, I will take this to the insurance ombudsman and the financial services commission as this is unfair charges!

They have now replied saying they're glad to have resolved this, their idea of resolving it was to wave the £15 admin fee, they offered me a refund of £26, I received £14 and some odd pence can't even figure out how they came up with that figure! And a discount on any future travel, I definitely will NOT be taking them up on that offer!

Just don't bother wasting your money, the premium insurance really isn't. I personally feel ripped off and would recommend reading the small print very carefully before you purchase, as you will find that your not really covered for anything.

Absolutley no attempts on their part to help customers. They simply take your money and wash their hands of you, even when you have a legitimate claim!!
If you like throwing money into a pile of sick, Fit2Travel is a very big bucket to throw it into.
Do not trust these trolls. They did nothing to help me make a claim and did even less when I demanded a refund.
Their policies previously weren't anywhere to be seen when applying are now suddenly in plain sight, and its no suprise that I wouldn't of given them money if I knew they'd offer no refunds, period.

(Update) - Dear Fit2Travel, you can't suddenly try to look as though you're willing to help after you've had 5 months to fix this. Pathetic. This is what happens when you ditch your customers.
I even told the comparison site I found you on not to do business with you, and you're being reviewed given you have 100% 1-star reviews.

Avoid Fit2travel at all costs. Avoid any company that is a branded face for tifgroup (which Fit2travel are). They are the worst type of travel insurer who put all their efforts into not paying out. I took out backpacking insurance for my daughter who needed to return to UK early due to COVID. They are refusing to cover any part of this curtailment cost despite my daughter having no option but to follow FCO guidance, otherwise the insurance policy would have been void.
JUST AVOID THEM !! ( If in doubt, google tifgroup and FCO and see what heartbreaking situations they have contributed to)

50% less £15 you are a joke fit2travel !!!! How can you sleep at night knowing you have ripped myself and others off ??? Give people there money back and save face here . No one wanted this but you are profiteering from peoples misery !!!

Another really bad review for this company. Took out travel insurance with them and both my wife and I became ill probably due to flying viao Hongkong just before the lock down.. any we needed to see a GP and get antibiotics. Back home I tried claiming for the expense but I got no help at all. Several times they send forms that could not be edited or the wrong claim forms and in between actually sending the wrong claim forms they had to be chased reminded, called, emailed and in the end -this is after several weeks of struggle- I gave up even thought the balance was several hundred pounds it was not worth the stress.
We will never use them again in fact Fit2Travel made the experience so bad I wonder if I will even take out travel insurance next time with anyone.

Bought holiday insurance with this company, holiday cancelled by travel agent due to covid19, ( so cancellation not down to us ); but Fit2Travel will only refund 50%of our money and it will cost us £15 to get that back !
And they are not willing to transfer it to a holiday next year.

This company's insurance policies are largely worthless. Their detailed terms and conditions exclude many unfortunate incidents that a traveller is likely to experience, including most forms of cancellation. To refuse all insurance payouts due to Covid-19 is terrible and just highlights what a dodgy operation this company is running.

This company had the audacity to tell me that "Please be assured that we understand the exceptional circumstances related to the cancellation of your trip, but they MUST adhere to their terms and conditions". I haven't even reached my travel date yet (holiday due to start on 22nd May), but they tell me that if I cancel I loose 50% of the policy amount and less a £15 admin charge. I paid almost £95, due to medical conditions, this means a refund less that £33, plus they had the nerve to offer me a 10% discount on a future policy. I am not cancelling because I want to, I am cancelling because of a worldwide pandemic which is stopping everyone travelling. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Google "Fit2Travel reviews", out of 46 reviews all 46 gave 1 Star and note the standard company response to most of them!! I note the reputable Travel Insurance companies are giving full refunds and I shall definitely be using one of those in future!!

Disgusted by this company’s policy re Covid19 cancellation. I was told they would contact in holiday date order, but my date passed 6/5/20 & no contact. I contacted my hotel and flight provider Myself (not a package holiday) and both were incredibly helpful in rearranging my trip to May 2021.
Eventually 8 days after my holiday was supposed to start I’ve been contacted by the broker, after several emails. I wanted to know if I could do the same with my insurance policy as hotel/flight and move to next year. I expected to be told that there would be an additional cost, however I was told that I had to buy a new policy for the holiday next year and only then would I be refunded this years cost. By this point I think I’m being scammed, and could only imagine what tactics they would use if you ever made a claim! So I’ve cancelled - will only get 20% of cost back but but would rather that than trust this company. Just for the record in 46 years of travelling abroad I have never made a claim.

I spent around £80 to insure me and my girlfriend for a trip to Mexico, I was conscious not to by the cheapest insurance I could find and so went for the platinum cover which had a great defaqto rating and good amounts of cover. A few days into the holiday, my girlfriend had a blocked ear (we think from spending so much time in the water), it wasn't unblocking itself after a couple of days and we were worried about it becoming infected. This is when I pulled out the insurance documents and read a few finer details. Turns out that you're not covered for seeing a private doctor without ringing and getting permission from the insurance company. I rang them and it was quite obvious for the start there was no way they would authourise us to go to a private doctor. But what is a private doctor in Mexico? It's not the same as the UK. Every doctor within 2 hours was a 'private' doctor, including the one on our holiday complex - which if I remember correct was around £120 for a consultation. I spoke to our rep and she said that the only non private doctor she had known was for the very poorest people, she told me how one of her fellow reps had been there and that it was basically a room where people are sat all over the place and are quite literally dying. So there we are, in Mexico, with basically no medical cover, and no means of getting any other insurance as we were already on holiday. If one of us had of broken our leg, we would have had a huge bill on our hands and we spent the latter part of our holiday being a little more cautious with that in mind. Anyway, ear unblocked and we got away scot free. But NEVER again would I used Fit2travel, and I will always read the fine print.
