Great experience with the Energy Ombudsman. My case handler, Rebecca Llewellyn, was very professional and handled my complaint thoroughly. My issue was upheld, and I’m really happy with the outcome. After a stressful situation, they made the process clear and fair. Highly recommend.
No real explanation of decision. No disclosure of evidence supplied by EDF and bizarre decision
The Ombudsman people are very helpful , however there "recommendations" for the energy companies are just that. Non binding . My issue with EDF started in October , I followed the process through but even after finding in my favor EDF did not resolve the issue . They do not seem bothered what the outcome was , and with hindsight I should have changed supplier 6 months ago when I first en counted the problem . Do not make my mistake.

As always they deliver an efficient service. With 3 cases in the past , the organisation never let me know. Though and accurately analyses evidence and makes the energy companies to adhere to their decisions.
The organisation expedited a new case because of the gravity of the mishandling by EDF Energy.
What a great result for me ,but I know everyone doesn’t get the results they want. But absolutely brilliant result for me.

After my experience filing complaints, I have come to the conclusion that the Energy Ombudsman is simply supporting energy brokers who should be blacklisted.

After two months trying my best to get my energy supplier to come and finish the job they started changing my smart meters for the latest type ones and providing a new IHD so I could monitor my energy bills I was getting nowhere and at my wits end and feeling helpless. I got in touch with the Ombudsman and had a word with them, it was such a relief to hear they were going to help me. It wasn't too long after the Ombudsman got in touch with energy company that they were making arrangements with me to come and finish the job. It was an amazing turnaround, I now have the two new meters and IHD working and happy. I cant thank the Ombudsman that helped me enough. I feel I would still have been waiting without his help.
So glad I finally done something & got my case being investigated at the moment but a huge weight lifted is the feeling I got at the moment

In terms of the not so unbias investigation , in utility warehouse energy - regarding the level of accountability ;energy providers have a lawful duty toward vulnerable customers and this was not particularly held accountable to utility warehouse including those on the neuro spectrum.
I believe there should be more robust support systems in place, such as mandatory assistance with meter readings and comprehensive checks for energy leakage or faults prior to the start of a contract. Such measures would ensure that users are not overcharged or placed in financial hardship due to circumstances beyond their control.
My own situation serves as a clear example of how poor housing conditions, temporary accommodations, and a lack of oversight can lead to significant debt and damaged credit scores. I would like my case to be studied as an example of these systemic failings.
Furthermore, I believe we should reconsider the current ease of access to monthly or quarterly billing. In the past, credit checks were required for these options, and those who did not meet the criteria were placed on pay-as-you-go meters to prevent debt accumulation. Returning to a more rigorous vetting process could protect both the provider and the consumer.
I believe energy providers must take greater responsibility for the situations where customers fall into debt and recognize the role that a lack of early intervention plays in these outcomes.
Very poor service, waiting for months eventually they make decision that favour company.

I could not have asked for anything more to be done for me...I was listened to... all the true facts were collated and then a decision made. Very happy that I contacted the Energy Ombudsman. Anyone ever needing any help, no matter what it is, with an Energy Company please do not hesitate to contact the Energy Ombudsman..they are fair, honest and reliable.
Captured by the businesses no. You have a 2 in 10 change of joy with them. This is what the industry will accept in terms of complaint agreement. Check out the all party parliamentary group report on financial fraud released on Monday. Ombudsman are merely screening companies. Join me and sue instead. Thanks very much. So can you confirm that you investigated the erroneous transfer that according to you "member of the public" made when all the evidence points to British Gas. You know the company you protect. Will keep editing this so it's at the top of the reviews. People need to see how stacked it is against them. Cheers.

Ombudsman resolved an issue with B. Gas that had been ongoing for over a year. It was dealt with swiftly and with empathy to the frustration the situation had caused me.
I would recommend this service if you have tried to no avail to resolve any issue with energy companies.

I have recently been compelled to contact the Energy Ombudsman. I was, after a prolonged and protracted inability to resolve an issue with British Gas, delighted to finally have help. The process was seamless, the staff very helpful and the contact they maintained with me was excellent. Happily, they resolved my dispute, thank you!

Contacted Energy Ombudsman as I was at my wits end trying to get Bgas to rectify my accounts,it was the best thing as from day one I was in contact with the person dealing with my case and kept upto date on everything, I would highly recommend others having similar issues to do the same.
