Excellent stress free experience

Do not buy from them
Do not buy from them, incompetent installing engineer, untidy installation, poor after-sales service, and an air source heating system which provided minimal heat. Let me summarise:
Very professional initial presentation from a knowledgeable salesman, competitive price which included removal of the redundant oil tank.
Only one engineer and a helper arrived to do the complete job in only a few days. This resulted in the job being rushed and having to work late into the evening. An untidy installation with no time left for proper set up and fine tuning. Radiators were producing minimal heat but we were advised that this was normal for a heat pump. The system flow meter read zero but a replacement was promised. They also denied agreeing to remove the oil tank, we had to sort that out.
We then had to chase EEC for the replacement flow meter and when the fitter eventually arrived, he said it wasn’t required. I complained again about the low radiator temperature and asked him to feed it back to the service department. He advised me that the system was working correctly.
EEC booked in to carry out the first annual service and we again complained about the low radiator temperature. They again advised me that the system was working correctly. We then reluctantly assumed that we has made a big mistake in converting to an air source system and that the lack of performance we were experiencing was the norm.
Over the next couple of years, we endured a cold house with energy costs at least twice what they should have been. With the onset of the horrific increase in energy costs, and a denial, twice, by EEC service engineers that there was a system fault, we commissioned an independent review of the installation. To our horror, we were advised that the system had been piped up in reverse causing major issues with the coolant flow, hence lack of heating performance and huge energy usage. This was also why the flow meter read zero.
This issue was corrected in a matter of minutes with an immediate substantial increase in radiator heat almost comparable with the original oil boiler system. We were also advised that the insulation of the new piping was below standard and was losing a substantial amount heat.
We were now substantially out of pocket to the tune of thousands of pounds due to the huge cost of energy needlessly used over the last couple of years plus the recent review and rework to the system. As the installation is warranted for seven years, we submitted a claim for costs but were advised that because we hadn’t submitted a written complaint or given EEC the opportunity to put the system right, it was completely rejected.
We referred the matter to the Ombudsman but although they were extremely sympathetic, they could not force EEC to pay out due to our not having submitted a written complaint prior to completing the updates. ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT IN THE CONTRACT. As we had not complied with the small print terms and conditions and we could not afford the risk of going to court, we reluctantly agreed to accept a small goodwill payment that the Ombudsman managed to secure from EEC on our behalf.
In conclusion, EEC are a company who carry out their installations on the cheap and despite making a fundamental installation error, will do whatever they can to get out of their responsibilities.

We would like to emphasise that the statement claiming we provide installations at low cost in order to evade our responsibilities is incorrect and unsubstantiated. With a reputable presence in the industry for over 30 years and having successfully completed over 25,000 Renewable installations, we have numerous satisfied customers. The products we employ are considered some of the best in the market, offering reliable guarantees and warranties.

Thanks for a great service
Thanks for a great service. The installation went ahead on the agreed date (a late start but still completed on the day). Polite and efficient crew doing the installation. They changed the installation plans for the panels for sound logistical reasons (by agreement) and I ended up with the panels in exactly the location and format I had originally desired. The electrician (Andy) was very cooperative and efficient also, supporting my requests for cable routing and installed all the controls in as compact and as neatly as was possible (important for me as they were inside the house). I do recommend others install the bird deterrent netting as I did. The pigeons were inspecting the panels immediately after installation! Everything has worked perfectly from the moment of installation (only one week ago so I know it is early days as yet).

Installation was done on the specific date and to plan. Andy managed the whole process smoothly. Guy who was the engineer, who did the install was very good with his workmanship. He ran through the details once the installation was complete.
Happy with the Inverter and Battery installation. More renewable power and hopefully lower bills as well.

EEC Solar were extremely helpful and knowledgeable from my first interaction to completion of the installation. We had a solar, battery and hot water heater installed, which was tailored to our house's requirements. There was no 'hard or up sell' by EEC Solar. Communication problems but light at the end of the tunnel
I have updated and edited my previous one star review based on recent events.
The background: EEC solar installed PV panels on my house in about 2012 and I have no complaints about the panels at all. In April 2022 I approached them to install a solar battery. I paid a deposit and waited (the quoted lead time was 4-6 weeks). I continued to wait and after numerous calls and emails finally was told that there was a supply problem. Installation (by an excellent engineer) finally took place in late October. Then there were two problems. First, my kitchen FM radio was plagued by interference (loud pops and bangs) at dawn and dusk and secondly, while completing online registration, I realised I had been sold a system less than half the capacity I had paid for!
The company replaced the batteries fairly soon after I had alerted them to it but initially failed to deal with the EMF interference problem. Following a negative review I was contacted by senior management to explain that there had been a communication failure within the company in relation to a particular member of staff.
We are now working on trying to establish the cause of the RF interference and will hopefully find a workable solution.

We have attempted to reach you since yesterday before you posted the review, but unfortunately, we have not been able to make contact. We understand that you mentioned being away but still able to receive calls, and we apologise if poor signal reception prevented us from reaching you.
As we have discussed in our previous conversations, we have never encountered any issues with our Battery installation affecting DAB radio frequencies. We have also spoken with our suppliers, who confirmed that they have not heard of any such problem. Additionally, our engineer has inspected the installation and assured you that the battery and inverter are safe from hackers.
Regarding the initial installation of the battery, we acknowledge that you were not present on the day of the installation, and you requested that your neighbors oversee the process. We discovered in the office that the wrong battery was installed andwithin seven days we made arrangements to return to your property to correct the mistake and explain the system to you. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We will continue to try to reach you and provide any further assistance that we can.

solar panels and battery
We contracted eec for solar panels and battery on our house in Oxfordshire.Their quote was by far the cheapest and also the only one which suggested an appropriate battery size. All other companies suggested a slightly or substantially oversized battery. Arranging an installation date took a while, but then the system was mounted and installed within a few hours, the team was very polite, efficient and helpful. When we had a switch coming down afterwards it was fixed immediately. All together an OK experience and very good value for the price!

Excellent service
Excellent service, well informed and accommodated my request to postpone installation for a week. Peter the roofer and Guy the electrician arrived on site early and completed the work in a professional manner. All the work carried out was neat and tidy. Guy explained the system and set up thoroughly.
Once installation was completed Tim rang to make sure we were happy with the work that had been carried out and assure us that if we had any concerns they were always at the end of the phone. We’d highly recommend EEC.

Still Good after 12 years
It is now some 12 years since EE Solar installed the system now complete with panel monitoring. Looking back then all went well with the installation and the installers were quick neat and professional. The odd problems have arisen over the years as you might expect with now a 12-year-old system but all fixed to my satisfaction and even upgraded the inverter when there was no need. I get a call from time to time to check all is well and my end thoughts are that they are still in business after many years so all of us that purchased cannot be all wrong !

A very pleased customer.
Today l had a conversation with Lewis from EEC about the possibilities of having a battery storage system fitted to my solar panel system, after a discussion with Lewis about my electric usage and how I utilise the electric I generate, he was very honest with me explaining I would not benefit from having batteries fitted. Lewis could have tried sell me this product like a lot of other sales people would have done. This gives me great confidence in this company to do the right thing and not like many others that are out to rip the general public off. EEC solar fitted my panels 10 years ago they were very professional and very competitive with their prices.

DON'T BUY!
i wouldn't give them any stars. I have waited 6 months for a repairs and I am now 6 weeks without any solar generation and still don't have any date to resolve. I bought a sytem 5 years ago and eec solar have consistently disappointed . SO DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Shoddy, fail to help and a waist of money
Now 11th April. Amazing what a Trustpilot review can do! It got an immediate response and a resolution to my 6 month fault Shame it had I resort to this.
My best advise to any EEC Solar fault is give them one chance then a poor review. You may get a better response!

The Solar installation is neat tidy and…
The Solar installation is neat tidy and professional. There was an issue to resolve but EEC picked this up and contacted me quickly, sent the engineer back to rectify the situation and resolved it. EEC also contacted the manufacturer who checked our system was performing as it should.
