I had a query about my contract and after a short message I had a reply a couple of hours afterwards and lots of help. I received lots of advice and support which was invaluable and reassuring.

Contacted Edapt for support regarding UPS. My case manager Colin was very supportive throughout the process and provided guidance through clear understanding of polices and legislation. Good communication through emails and phone calls and easy to contact. All this led to a positive outcome so thank you for your service.

In reality more people would be better off with signing with Edapt instead of the big unions (I do acknowledge their place but I mean who just want representation and choose not to strike).

I've had some excellent support and legal advice with Edapt, which has been really helpful.

I left one of the largest teaching unions in the UK to join Edapt. The reason I chose Edapt is because it's non-political, unlike the unions and it will always put it's members ahead of politics.

Unfortunately, early in September I faced a challenging situation at work and having no union for advice/help I decieded to sign up to Edapt. Despite their policy on not accepting cases that pre-exist the sign up date, they did, out of sheer courtesy for me taking out an annual subscription, offer me continued advice thoroughout every stage of the procedure. I was given a go to person who became familiar with my situation and they were extremely knowledgebale of the processes and policies and everytime I had new information the Edapt advisor helped me to interpret it and even wrote emails for me to help me respond to important questions/issues. The prompt and continued support I received continually helped to considerably reduce the stress and helped me feel more empowered. I want to say a huge thankyou to Edapt.

Having been a bit disillusioned by one of the larger unions, I was suggested Edapt by a colleague. They offered advice and support with an issue I had some months after joining, but I felt like I had a good ‘sounding-board’ to talk the issue through with.

An easy, no-nonsense experience. I went to Edapt in need of help and advice, they provided it and I was able to win the dispute I was in as a result. Staff are friendly and helpful. The waiting times are negligible, especially in comparison to the other unions.

I've been a member of Edapt for 3 years having been a member (and a rep) of the NEU for the previous 10. While the traditional unions have their uses with regards to campaigning, I've lost all interest in that. Edapt is perfect for what I now want: legal help and advice should the need arise.

I joined Edapt on the advice of colleagues as things were changing a lot at work and I thought I was going to need support. I haven’t been a member of a union before because I didn’t trust any of the people that I had seen promoting other unions. I was assured by colleagues that Edapt were much more professional. Due to my age, in April I decided to retire - I am retirement age and I knew that the leadership were not interested in me staying. I think I knew I could contact Edapt which gave me confidence but in the end I chose what I believed to be the easy way.

It's something that no teacher ever thinks they'll have to endure, but good representation is essential when going through a formal process. My initial case worker Colin was excellent. Quick responses when one is dealing with the inevitable anxiety related to it. Most importantly, the caseworkers are highly experienced and knowledgeable. Many are former headteachers so understand the process. The main benefit of Edapt is the legal cover. I had an excellent employment solicitor (Alice) at the hearing. I think this is the best way rather than have a rep who works at the school. When the stakes are high, you want a legal expert. You never think it will happen to you, but the way things are, it could happen to anyone, and not for reasons that are obvious. I got the only outcome I could have hoped for and continue to enjoy working.
