Our wedding is in one week but we have still not received the contact details of our event coordinator, bank details for payment and the contact details of the performer.

We have sent emails and left a message on the telephone system but have not received any reply. We have not been able to get in contact with someone directly over the phone.

Whilst we understand that there are pressures due to Covid, we would have expected that given the imminence of our wedding we would have received a prompt reply.

We think that it is absolutely unacceptable for a company which arranges vendors for weddings to not be on top of things so close to the event. Had we known that we would have had to deal with this added stress of trying to even get into contact with one of the staff in the week before our wedding we would definitely have not engaged this company.

We used Ear Candy for my wedding celebration, specifically DJ BlackHeat. The whole process was very easy from booking the DJ to being at the event. We had constant phone calls from the DJ asking what kind of music we wanted and needed and that put our minds at ease. On the night he was brilliant. Took requests and got the vibe spot on. Would highly recommend.

Booked the DJ & Sax combo for my wedding. We had to postpone once due to lockdown but Earcandy were great in offering postponement options. Communications were extremely slow, but I assume a lot of staff were furloughed.
However, everything was worth the wait. Damon (DJ) was fabulous, leading up to and on the day - he read the room perfectly and the dance floor was never empty!! Scott (Sax player) was insane - what an amazing addition to the party! Everyone has been commenting on how great they both were.

What an absolute brilliant system for booking live acts for a party / event. I have not yet had the event (so cannot comment on the quality of individuals provided) but from the point of view of the booking and payment process, plus the consultative approach which was taken in finding the right solution, this seems to be a really good company to deal with

Ben was really helpful and relaxed. He helped us find exactly what we wanted for a great price and there was no pressure at all. Would definitely recommend!

Really helpful, quick and easy

We have had to cancel my husbands 70th Birthday celebrations twice due to lockdown. He is now 71 & we want to cancel the event & have asked for our money to be refunded.
Ear candy have refused to refund our money although the government’s guidelines & rules state that businesses should refund due to the lockdown.
Their response is unacceptable. It’s not as though they missed out on booking the band for another event! Our venue have refunded us their booking fee.
Put things right Earcandy and refund the money.

Making money with the Corona-hardship of their customers and artists!
My daughter had to cancel her wedding because of Covid restrictions and with it the booking made with Earcandy. Contrary to government guidance and general decency Earcandy kept all monies which had been paid to them in advance and refused any refunds.
There are two parties who suffer most because of the Covid inflicted cancellation, the wedding couple and the artists. Either the deposit, which was more than £ 1000 should have been paid back to the wedding couple or given to the artists who need to survive somehow in these difficult times. Instead Earcandy decided to pocket the whole amount themselves stating significant upfront costs without being willing (or able) to disclose them.
This company is taking advantage of others in Corona times! Totally disgraceful and despicable!

….and here are my comments to Earcandy’s response:
- Earcandy is hiding behind their own policy, which states that the first payment is non-refundable. This clause is deemed to be unfair and therefore in breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, part 2!
- My daughter canceled at the moment that her 140 people wedding had to be restricted to just 30 people. Who then needs an 8-piece Motown Band? (which would have also counted to the 30). Alternative offers for the day were of no use as the style of the wedding had changed to sit down only to comply with Corona restriction. Other dates were also of no interest as the wedding couple lives abroad now. This is all known to Earcandy
- We were charged £ 1150 and Earcandy kept it all! What justification do they have? They did nothing apart from a few phone calls and a few e-mails! Holding all money back is against official government guidance published on the GOV.UK website under 'wedding-services-coronavirus-covid-19-cancellations-and-refunds'
I maintain my judgement that Earcandy’s is a money grabbing business with no interest in their customers or their performers. Otherwise they would have paid the money back or passed it on to the artists who suffer most in Corona times. Don’t get fooled by the nice language they use.

Faultless experience so far with Earcandy and I’m very excited that one of their excellent bands are now booked to play at our wedding in 2021. Very professional and helpful.

Ben has been so helpful and patient with us whilst we decided on whether we wanted a band or a DJ at our wedding.

It was such fun chatting with James and the whole process from the initial call to the booking was as it should be .. very professional but chilled as well. Can hardly wait for next year!
