Hope this article reach out to audience to share my experience. I'm not here to judge but rather create awareness to Guest. I'm was a Guest to rent a car in this platform Drivelah in Feb2026. Booking to Receiving , Returning the car was pleasant in Feb26. Unfortunately had an accident and filed claim against 3rd party who hit my Host car from back, filed the accident report as required. overall transaction with Host ended well on return. However in end Apr2026 i discovered from my credit card account of an transaction $459 from Drivelah, Claims and Security Team sent me email citing I have 'Breach of Contract' , reason - Drivelah is unable to reach out to 3rd party via contact number to find out the Insurance Company and i was charge the initiate 'excess' in order to 'move-on' the case, subject to further charges. Quick check on ChatGPT taught me this information is available in LTA portal as long you get the number plate. I immediately reached out 3rd party and got the Insurance company to Claims and Security Team. The Host and 3rd party closed the private settlement. Host has closed the case the next day. The entire episode raised many concerns - 1. I did not get calls from Drivelah prior to charge my credit card - no consent from me on $459.11. The credit card detail authorization to Drivelah for car rental fee purpose, information is PDPA. not suppose to use on other purpose isnt it? 2. Amount $459.11 from Drivelah is from independent surveyor deem fair? Claims and Security team said repair assessment >$3k ?? for rear bumper could be further chargeable to me. 3. was further told if 3rd party refused to accept the damaged claim, I be liable for the repair claim? Long story short, now the accident claim case in Drivelah is closed, I'm waiting for Drivelah to refund the full amount. no timeline confirmation except the response as " we put up request to relevant departments for processing" lets see how long Drivelah refund the unauthorized transaction. I'm more than happy to support to get refund back asap. To speed up the process, pls reach out my mobile.
