Dobbies Garden Centres - Shepton Mallet Arvostelua 292

Well, IF you have all day to queue for a hot drink, try it. Afraid we didn't, put our tray down & left as did others in front of us.
The set up to order for drinks only or hot food needs separating or employ more staff.
It's the last Sunday before Xmas, we went 10.30 ish about 15 customers queuing but queue just didn't move for 10/15 minutes.
Shame, 'cause with better organisation, could be a great visit.

Dreadful. Baked potatoes were so cool the cheese did not melt. Asked assistant to reheat them but was told they are not allowed to heat them to a warmer temperature because customers could burn themselves! We were expected to eat lukewarm food. If food is meant to be hot then surely it should be hot. We were offered replacements but told they would be of the same temperature as the potatoes were already cooked. Secondly a member of staff came out from the back of the kitchen declaring in a loud voice that they were happy as they had been to the toilet. Do customers need to know? Found that off putting. Disappointing.

Just had a brilliant luxury afternoon tea at Dobbies Shepton Mallet. The food was fresh and nicely presented. We took two boxes home as the amount was too much for us to eat in one sitting. We have eaten many afternoon teas at various location and this ranks as one of the best.

Bank Holiday week go for a snack and was told no pannis or toast sandwiches how bad is that on a bank Holiday week.had to find somewhere else.

First time visiting the cafe today . Noticed an “a frame “ notice board advertising a special offer with 2 meals for £16 ( with no mention of exclusions ). Asked the lady behind the food serving counter about the offer, and was meet with a very hostile reply . Answering with “ what ?” along with a very dismissive “ no “ really didn t make us feel very welcome and with no clarification of the offer . The only reason why we carried on with our purchase was because the young girl who served us with our coffees was lovely.

Been a regular for EVER. There's a fairly new young woman whom lately is always running the front by herself. How one person can manage coffee, tills and hot food is beyond me but she does it. I am disgraced that on my visit today I have overheard a different staff member speak badly about this young woman suggesting that she should also wash dishes alongside her current jobs. The company I had, were not particularly pleased to listen to the older womans attitude especially when it was only the young woman doing the jobs at hand. We left on the spot, and will not be coming back. A tad professionalism would be our advice, and a note to the woman doing three jobs- you deserve 5 stars and we were so displeased to hear how you were spoken to.

Called in to have lunch, not impressed at all the meat was tough potatoes not crispy, they didn’t know where to get the gravy (so lunch was cold) another lady was filling a drinks unit. When she asked what drinks we wanted and we told her she rang it all up on till and I paid while she got our drinks so lunch was getting colder, and another lady came to the till and asked what we were having, I told her we had paid and said to my husband I don’t think they know what their doing and the lady getting our drinks replied we’re doing our best. Sorry to say the only thing we enjoyed was our drinks and it cost me £33.50 not happy

Dogs at Dobbies Shepton Mallet. Having a cup of tea in restaurant several dogs with owners allowing their dogs to bark & yap constantly also dogs deficating . This noise was amplified by the lack of soft furnishings. Rest of the store was a good experience.

A good range of products , plants are a reasonable price , staff are always friendly and helpful

Coffee, plant purchase and food from Waitrose.
Staff all helpful.
Parking easy.
Trolleys to big though some smaller ones needed.

Lovely garden centre, plenty of shrubs, plants,flowers, all garden planting. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is another thing. It always takes too long to be served, not enough staff serving. The same person takes your drinks order, makes up your order then takes your payment, all while your hot food is cooling down. I have tried complaining but it makes no difference. We will still go there though.

The offers in store were very good and lunch was also good. Perhaps when you have other companies selling things such as payment plans for energy etc it would be less intrusive if they were not positioned at the entrance and exit. It certainly won’t put me off going to Dobbies I love visiting and the Dobbies club is a very good idea.

The staff were helpful and the store well stocked. The food was acceptable and reasonably priced. The Waitrose food area was well stocked and the goods generally reasonably priced.

Just had a lunch at the restaurant in the Shepton Mallet store. The food was satisfactory although overpriced. The service was abysmal. We were left standing at the self service counter for ages without anyone even acknowledging us. They were clearly understaffed. The tables were cluttered with used plates etc. I had to find some cleaning spray to clean my own table before I could sit down. The place was a mess. The toilets were disgusting and when we tried to find anyone to give us assistance in the store there was no one around. I have always thought the products were overpriced, so spend some of your profits Dobbies. Get some staff in to clean toilets, clear tables and help customers otherwise I may as well shop online!!!
