DDR Guard Dogs Arvostelua 

My first experience with Ben at DDR guard dogs was 14 years ago when I purchased my central Asian Ovcharka from him .. I still have this dog now and she is a model canine ..

More recently a new addition has bought me to DDR . Luna a 6 month old GSD nicknamed tick .. ( Lunatic ) .. I have been around and handling dogs since I was 15 and I am now 31 and I have never been with a dog that is so head strong , strong willed and so damn recalcitrant !

On the first assessment , Ben was able to pin point Lunas problems .. nervous , anxious , unwillingness to play .. so after the first assessment .. we go away and leave Ben to work on his plan .. we had discussed leaving her with him but Ben was very honest and said I can’t do that at this time I need to build a relationship ( as do all the team at DDR ) with this dog if not she will come to me “ shut down “ and I will not be able to help you the way I want to ..
this shows what a passion Ben has for what he does and all the people he has around him .
We have started a weekly training session with him and are working is plan .. and it’s remarkable seeing the change in Luna , she has gone from a dog who when I would correct her , she would lash out and redirect onto my hand , she is now Off lead waiting and wanting my instructions ..

I can honestly say having known Ben for as long as I have he is the person I call
Before I call a vet .. what Ben doesn’t know about dogs can be written on a postage stamp .

Also like to say a big thank you to the girls for seeing Luna through to wear she is now been testing at times but they have all Persevered with her .

I have never been to a training place for any of our dogs before, however having our first gsd I thought it would be a good idea. We were recommended by a friend to take him to see Ben at DDR they had done a marvellous job with her dog Barclay so we gave it a go. From the moment we arrived we was impressed, the whole set up there for the dogs is outstanding and second to none and the staff are all first class and really work their butts off. Kaiser was a bit of a live wire and very protective of us but having seen Ben and his team for just a short time kaiser learnt so much, his now a well behaved balance lad. They also stock and sell great foods for the dogs and supplements etc so I get all my stuff from their online shop and it arrives within a few days by delivery. Thank you so much for all your help and guidance with kaiser this past 2 years, If you are thinking off taking your dog anywhere and want proper results don’t even hesitate as this is definitely the place to go. After much research we came across DDR Guard Dogs, I spoke to Ben who has been professional and helpful from the start and booked in an assessment for my Puppy German Shepherd.
4 Weeks later I’m still returning back to them and I will be for the foreseeable.

He is on their zero to hero program and whilst being a lovely family dog protects our home and garden and us during walks he is always by our side and well tempered. We have had German Shepherd dogs for over 40 years and bought the best dog we have ever had from DDR.
The dog training services that Ben and his team run are so helpful. The food we get from Ben is liked by all of our dogs and we wouldn't feed them anything else now.

We have a rescue puppy who was having issues with play biting and was scared of adults. DDR Guard Dogs were amazing, within a few lessons she had calmed down and was able to settle into family life. I would highly recommend them!

In October 2018, my family and I purchased a working line GSD that was born and bred at the DDR academy. We bought the puppy as a family pet/protection companion.

For personal reasons, we opted to take the longer road in training the puppy alongside the DDR team as a family opposed to purchasing a finished K9.

As a family, we attended many 1-2-1 training sessions early on. First came obedience, with very small hints of protection training, not too much and not too little, then gradually Ben and the team started to ‘open’ him up to learning and mastering his skill set.

Taking such a high calibre puppy that has an innate desire to protect and work and get him to maintain that whilst being a family pet, is not always easy. That said, owning any puppy let alone a GSD is never easy!

We had our own reasons for wanting to travel the ‘zero to hero’ path and we are now at the stage where looking back, it was more than worth the commitment.

We can take credit for our efforts as a family but if it had not of been for Ben and his team, we would have never arrived at where we are now.

I spent over two years researching where to buy the best of the best when the time was right for us as a family, and I nearly committed to one of DDR’s well-known competitors. I believe if I had of, and from first-hand experience with someone I know who did buy from the competition, I am confident it would not have been anywhere near as effective.

I have personally witnessed, others who have bought from different companies and later visited DDR for correctional help.

This is not to say that ALL other companies are bad, but I can say from personal experience, others do not seem to do it how DDR GD’s do it.

The puppy we bought is of an elite level. The litters I have witnessed since then are also of incredible quality and the finished products, are genuinely the best I have seen. We have been visiting DDR for training purposes on and off for 2 years. We have seen first-hand many success stories and have seen the progress of puppies that have been turned into incredibly skilled K9’s.

We have two Children who Ben and the team have taught to handle the dog in many different situations. Our training regime consisted of personal 1-2-1 and residential boot camp at different times of the year.
The dog was fully compliant and carrying out significantly advanced commands from a very young age (Sub 1 year for obedience and protection).

The dog is exceptional, the advice, information, whilst at first glance was puzzling in some parts, is superior and a major cut above the rest.

The service we have received from DDR, even to this day has been incredible. Nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble for this extremely advanced and knowledgeable team. The owner and driver of the business is by far the best, hands down! Training a dog is not like getting something out of a box and building it. It is so much more and unfortunately not one method fits all. This is where the owner Ben, is different to the rest, his approach and skill set is incredibly varied. This makes a huge difference when buying such a high-quality dog. They tweak and change the dog as it grows mentally and physically to ensure you and the dog are getting the maximum.

If you are buying the finished product opposed to the ‘zero to hero path’, then congratulations, all of the work has been done for you.

We now have a fully trained, highly intelligent and level-headed dog that will sooner sit with a new-born baby or play football with a 9-year-old child, as it would jump into extreme danger to serve and protect. Not only that, but it will do it autonomously without hesitation.

Most dogs will protect, but knowing how to and most importantly, when too…. is critical.

He is now 2 years old. He was fully compliant and protecting long before now but we chose to carry on his training and realise even more from him.

Genetics and getting the right bloodline is incredibly important. Knowing how to nurture, train and mould, is game changing.

So had my first session with ben at ddr guard dogs last week with my nearly 6 year old Doberman Montgomery who has serious dog on dog aggression since he was about 10 months old having already seen ALOT of other so called expert dog trainers and spent a small fortune with no improvement at all with monty I had pretty much give up! After the first 5min ben had monty sat with dogs walking around him no aggression no anxiousness at all it was unbelievable seeing as monty has never been within 20ft of another dog without flipping out! Since the first session I've taken monty on walks with my friends dog walks in parks with dogs everywhere doesn't take any notice no aggression! After my 2nd session today monty was running around off leash close to a dog! Something I never thought I'd see! There's still work to do but staggering the change in just two sessions I can't recommend ben and his team enough!

We know Ben and his team in about 4 month now. We have had very bad experience with other trainer in the past, therefore we had high expectations and beforehand have decided we will leave the first session in the moment if we don't feel right, that moment have never come and since then we attend every week once for training. They helped us within 10 minutes on our first session with our dog's reactivity towards other dogs. They clearly explained how and when we need to correct our dog for unwanted behaviour. Every single member of the team are friendly, polite and full of knowledge. There isn't any question what they wouldn't be able to give clear answer to.
On our journey, we carried on with some obedience training and started protection training also. Every week, we look forward to see the team and being excited to learn new skills not alone our dog, we learn a lot through great adventures too. It is very good to see how much our dog is improved and that she is always happy to be there and so are we.

I have a 9month old malinois who was extremely boisterous and due to his high drive sometimes uncontrollable.We sent him to ddr guard dogs for 4 weeks and returned a completely different dog.Affection,Drive and energy was all still the same but much much more controllable, The owner of the site Including the trainers were amazing and very experienced thanks to them we no longer worry about walking ghost off leash where there are distractions or worry about the possibility of him not listening and harming himself or someone else. They’ve made a great dog out of our boy and Are looking forward to sending him back in January

After having an awful experience at home it become apparent that we needed some added security at. The worry was that I was 5 months pregnant and had other dogs at home to consider also. We spoke to Ben at DDR and went down to meet with him, and to meet out Morris who we had already completely fallen in love with already. Whilst there we met another couple of dogs but our heart was already set on Morris, we felt instantaly he was our dog and he would fit with our family. All of the dogs were so warm and happy to see us and would make wonderful pets, it’s just morris kinda chose us. Over the next period of time we worked closely with Morris, mainly myself as I was pregnant and it was all about building a bond and loyalty with him. Ben never once pushed the bite button too much knowing we was going to have an addition joining the family soon he aired on the side of caution and I really felt comfortable with that. It was always important to take it slow with him knowing we was having a baby and it’s been the best experience for us all, even when we arrived he always made sure I was comfortable with the training and wasn’t overdoing it. He has grown such a bond with us and our child that he hasn’t had to be taught to be protective its come naturally and by working with the team at ddr whilst he’s lived with us they have really worked on his natural progression and built him up to be an amaxing animal. The training for day to day life he has received has been life changing for us. I haven’t had to teach him how to walk on a lead next to the buggy, ddr covered that, or how to get into the car, they covered that! Even every day behaviour like asking him to wait on his bed while I mop the floor or to walk with me a certian way if I’m trying to get out the door with the dog and the baby it’s just been so easy and seamless. He has left the team and come and fitted into our home like he’s always been there. He’s happily to live with other dogs and we have never had an issue with socialising him or with any guests in our home. But on occasions he’s always shown us that he’s there to protect and he makes me finally feel safe in my home. The team take pride in their work and they really give it 110% and that shows. I’ve had morris for 10 months and every day I think what a great dog he is, clever, smart, cheeky, full of love and always wants a cuddle but can switch it up in a second should they be required of him! I didn’t know a dog could really have it all but ddr managed it.

We feel honoured and we feel privileged to be able to had taken such a wonderful dog off their hands. He’s a credit to ddr and the team and we just love the close relationship we still have with the team. Would we get another? I wouldn’t even think twice. Thank you for

DDR helped train my dog that was causing issues in my relationship because it was so badly behaved, not aggressive just massively hyper and destructive. Now my doby is such a wonderful dog to be around for everyone, all thanks to Ben and DDR, would recommend! :D

I took storm my 4 year old import male Doberman with a highly aggressive nature to DDR , Firstly , I had a assessment with Ben , to understand storms issues and my concerns . Then one to one seasons in his centre, after the first lesson , Ben had given me homework to continue the training ,at home and out in the real world . But now had it clear what We were doing wrong as well as setting boundaries and moderate his behaviour with storm .After each season I started to feel more confident with what we had been taught, it didn’t happen over night but after a few weeks massive improvement was noticeable by myself and overs . Each week Ben would focus on different of storms issues until he and I was clear on how to approach and handle each situation with ease . Storm now fully under stands when a threat is , and when to be aggressive on command, as having a dog deemed out of control in this day can have serious problems, I now have a dog that is a pleasure to walk and enjoy, but knows his boundaries , Ben also gave me some great independent nutrition advice. Totally recommend Ben and the DDR centre , but be prepared to put he’s training in to practice .,

I had my mastiff trained at DDR for obedience, and because of the great results and everything I saw in my time there I decided to have my boy trained for protection. My dog gets along with everyone so much better since both my dog and I have learned so much from Ben and his team. Thanks alot DDR!

I bought my dog hunter in for training 3 weeks ago hunter had few issues where he would not listen or take basic orders from me he barked at other dogs and would just not listen. I got recomeded to Ddr through someone who bought somthing of me on eBay. When I turned up all staff was Realy friendly and very welcoming to myself and hunter.ben assest hunter and that’s where he stayed for 2 weeks boot camp.i recieved videos of hunters updates over the 2 weeks and to watch how he had changed it was amazing.i went to pick up hunter 2 weeks later and had a hand over.all staff were amazing,friendly and showed me what they have been doing with hunter over the 2 weeks.all I can say is a massive thank you to Ben and all members of staff they do an amazing job for these dog to train and to look after with there best care.i will deffently be goin back for more training with hunter wen he’s abit older I recommend Ddr 110% for there work care and for the facility’s they have onec again thank you.

3 years ago I had my first puppy, a ridgeback that was showing some real issues with basic obedience. I found DDR and went to Ben to have him trained to do some basic obedience and protection. It became apparant my dog was very sensitive but also difficult to train, he also had very bad food aggression. Ben and his team really helped nurse him through by adapting his training around our dogs confidence and issues. He is now 3 years old, a pleasure to have around everyone, his food discipline is one of his strong points now and can be told to leave his meal and sit halfway through eating it, and he guards very well, he runs marathons with me around other people and other dogs (all of which are jealous of how well behaved my dog is). Couldnt be happier with how much they have helped my boy, I was with him the whole way through, his team always make a fuss whenever they see him, they all know his name, and he gets more excited when he is there than when I take him to the beach. I learned so much about dog psychology and training to the extent where I have helped friends dogs who were out of control with basic obedience.

Since then, seeing the protection dog world, I bought my first protection dog from Ben himself 2 years ago and enjoyed it so much I have bought a 2nd dog from him about 10 months ago, with a combined value of around 20k. A Boerboel and a Presa Canario, I can verify both these purchases, aswell as thier pedigrees of which both come from some of the best known breeders of each in the world which we to this day, have constant contact with. I was taken through the whole process of introduction, upkeep, integration with my original dog and other pets.

Not only do I now have a home with 3 intact male unique guard breeds all with very different personalities that are able to protect on command, I also look after my friends 2kg pomeranian (my biggest is the boerboel at 70kg), they are often around my nan who is old and recovering from a recent stroke. They are gentle around her and will lay next to her and lick her hand. They are gentle around my 3 rescue cats, I put alot of effort in to introducing new people to them properly as I was trained to, as long as those instructions are followed, I have all the people over I like.

Whenever my doorbell goes, they spring into action and will try to break the gate down with great ferocity which is exactly what I want, as I live on and own alot of storage and yard facilities with alot of equipment which they free roam and protect. All 3 dogs love the training so much, that I still take all 3 of them every week. The 2 pedigrees show extreme ferocity and skill when doing bite work, with both hidden sleaves, distractions, aswell as sessions at home where all 3 will bite intruders with hidden sleeves every time, keep hold of the bite, and are fearless.

Ben sells lots of products, and all 3 of our dogs have had different allergies, one of them is fed on food from Ben, the other 2 are fed different foods each that Ben does not sell but helped us find, so I dont believe anything about him being a pure food salesman either, he has helped with some of his products, but when needed has reffered us elsewhere.

Even though there are some negative reviews (clearly all in the same time frame despite ben going for years) they share surnames, and are clearly from the same person which is not allowed on this site, and its clear from reading them they sound like bad dog owners in general. Ben has plenty of videos with many different clients and dogs, dogs he has bred, imported, and dogs taken to him for training. Its all there. So like any normal person, watch some videos, then ask to go along to watch a session if you are unsure. We have had plenty of people unsure of the industry watch our sessions, ranging from obedience to high level bite work and scenarios.

My whole life is totally different to how it would have been had I not met Ben, and I now have my 3 boys who are my children, that I connect at such a deep level that has only come from them growing through the training. Everyone loves my dogs, and I would recommend DDR to anyone.

We took our rottweiler there as a pup for obedience and protection training. He stayed there for a few weeks and they did an excellent job with him. Having tried obedience training elsewhere first and told he was a difficult pup, we were relieved that Ben could work with him. They've always been available for advice and I've been back several times with my boy for follow up training sessions to keep on top of it. Almost 4 years on, we still have a good relationship with Ben and the team and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Owner is not a professional dog trainer. On top of that he thinks he knows better than any of us. Me and my husband have had corsos for years. My husband was interested in one of mastiffs he had for sale ( not mentioned for 20k which is insane) . Owner said the dog will need a shock collar 😳 how the hell 20k trained dog needs a shock collar? That already made me looking deeper into the business , and from our knowledge those dogs are trained too early in age and too hard. When they will come out to New owner most likely most of that training is down the drain and just to be honest Cane corso is super smart dog , they don't need hours of training, unless you train them to to do magic tricks! We found a 2 years old corso for sale fo £700 and this boy without trainjng is so obey and so protective! Because that's their nature ! They love their owners and listen to them and do what's they told! Owner has no clue about dogs nature!

Just adding: when we've said we won't purchase a dog from him because of electric collar and so on he was very rude. So do your research and get your pup from elsewhere, if you looking for guard dog from guard breeds, trust me : they have their own instincts and they don't need 2years of daily trainings to protect you, they will do that straight from loving you 😉
