No refund for a 50 euros mak lost in the sea
Just to let you know, DAN has not agreed to refund me for the lost mask because the amount was less than 500 euros... Next time, let's issue me an invoice for that amount, maybe easier and more interesting for the victim cover;)

Thank you for taking the time to write this review.
For the sake of truth, it is worth mentioning that you lost the diving mask you had rented, then the centre asked you to reimburse it. The short-term, one-day insurance cover you purchased from the centre has limits, both minimum and maximum - which are clearly stated in the insurance conditions you accepted. We tried to explain this, also inviting you to a dedicated virtual call with our local consultants.
It may sound disappointing, but the conditions of contract should be respected, as a guarantee for the whole community.
Apnea a Lanzarote
Durante un corso di apnea a Lanzarote, ho subito la perforazione del timpano. In quel momento ho capito perché il DAN è essenziale per i subacquei: è facile da contattare, offre consigli e supporto medico e amministrativo e copre anche le spese. Il DAN si prende cura dei suoi subacquei con professionalità ed empatia.

Sono stata malata i primi giorni che sono arrivata a lavorare alle Maldive e ho avuto un ottima assistenza con grande aiuto perché potete capire cosa vuol dire stare male lontani da casa, da soli, non capendo esattamente cosa fare e come .

I wrongly assumed that my dive insurance DAN Silver covered accidental loss of equipment as well as medical benefits.
Got nothing when the live aboard boat that I was on sank and I lost everything. Don't assume that DAN cover equipment, luggage or personal items

It's crucial for our members to fully understand both the extent and limits of their coverage. Our policies are designed to provide comprehensive medical benefits for diving incidents, but unfortunately they don't cover personal equipment or possessions should the dive boat sink. While DAN is always here to offer medical assistance to every diver, coverage for non-insured cases is not possible. This is to ensure fairness to all our insured members, and the sustainability of the services themselves.
We recognise how unfair it feels to be involved in a boat accident, and we trust that the responsible parties are held accountable. However, it's important to note that negative feedback based on misunderstandings can unfairly impact service providers who have fulfilled their contracts.

Tauchunfall Malediven Kuredu
Ich hatte im Februar auf der Insel Kuredu einen Tauchunfall und hatte für dies bei DAN eine Versicherung abgeschlossen. Beim Versuch es der Organisation zu melden bekam ich keine Rückmeldung also garnichts. Sie haben mich alleine gelassen. Ich habe es selbst geschafft, es gab selbst im nachhinein keine Reaktion von DAN. DEN VERSICHERUNGSBEITRAG HATTEN SIE JA KASSIERT. Ich mache nie wieder etwas mit DAN.

wir bedauern, diese Kritik zu lesen. Unseren internen Berichten zufolge war unser medizinisches Team von Anfang an in den Fall involviert und Sie erhielten eine angemessene Unterstützung. Unser Team sprach in dieser Phase mit einem nahen Familienmitglied und bestätigte die Notwendigkeit einer medizinischen Behandlung und die Gültigkeit des Versicherungsschutzes. Bemerkenswert ist vielleicht noch der Unterschied zwischen Primär- und Sekundärversicherungsschutz. Die Sekundärversicherung greift ein, wenn die Primärversicherung nicht reagiert oder sich weigert, die Behandlung und die Kosten zu übernehmen.
Wir hoffen, dass Sie diese Bewertung im Hinblick auf die angebotene Versorgung und die tatsächlich erbrachte Leistung neu bewerten werden.

Keine Hilfe
Haben aufgrund eines Unfalls in Nicaragua die deutsche Nummer angerufen. Wir sind keine Mitglieder und wollten nur um Rat fragen, weil es hier keinerlei Ärzte gibt. Anstatt zu helfen wurden wir belehrt, dass es keine Auskunft für nicht Mitglieder gibt und wir die Hotline bitte nicht blockieren sollen. Statt der 5 minütigen Belehrung hätten sie auch einfach vielleicht kurz ein paar Tipps zum Vorgehen geben können und dafür sorgen, dass wir in Zukunft Mitglied sind.
Wirklich sehr schlechter Service und meiner Meinung nach moralisch fragwürdig Personen in Not so die Hilfe zu verweigern.
Um auf die Antwort einzugehen:
Es wurde uns nicht angeboten über eine andere hotline Informationen zu erhalten.
Selbstverständlich ist uns klar, dass das System DAN wirtschaftlich arbeiten muss, weshalb ich in meiner Bewertung ja geschrieben habe, dass wir hätten Mitglieder werden können.
Die bewertung bezieht sich natürlich nicht auf die Leistung, da diese uns mit vollumfänglicher nicht hilfreicher Belehrung demonstrativ verweigert wurde.

Uns liegt die Qualität der Betreuung von Tauchern am Herzen und wir haben den Fall untersucht. Obwohl wir diese Daten vertraulich behandeln, sind wir der Meinung, dass eine klare Erläuterung der Zusammenhänge zu einem besseren Verständnis der Art der von uns angebotenen Dienstleistung beiträgt.

Unser Team des medizinischen Dienstes bestätigt, dass es am Samstagabend um 20:26 Uhr MEZ einen Anruf aus Nicaragua erhielt, der weniger als 2 Minuten dauerte. Der Anruf wurde als nicht akute Notfallsituation eingestuft. Da der Anruf direkt auf einer Leitung einging, die nur für akute lokale Notfälle aus Deutschland und Österreich handlungsfähig ist, schlug unser medizinisches Team vor, die hierfür zuständige DAN Europe Alarmzentrale zu kontaktieren.

Es ist wichtig zu verstehen, dass DAN sich bereit erklärt, jedem Taucher, der sich in einem medizinischen Notfall befindet, medizinische Hilfe und nützliche Informationen anzubieten, unabhängig davon, ob er/sie aktives Mitglied ist oder nicht. Natürlich haben nur DAN-Mitglieder Anspruch auf medizinische Beratung in nicht-notfallbedingten Fällen und auf Versicherungsschutz, der für die Deckung der Kosten im Zusammenhang mit medizinischen Notfällen unerlässlich ist.
In Anbetracht des Falles ist es eigentlich nicht korrekt, eine Leistung zu bewerten und zu überprüfen, auf die man formal keinen Anspruch hat.
Wir hoffen, dass diese Informationen dazu beitragen, die Art und die Bedeutung des medizinischen Hilfsdienstes, den das DAN-Team auf lokaler und internationaler Ebene leistet, besser zu verstehen.

Solo quando ti ritrovi in qualche parte del mondo a fare immersioni e accusi dei seri problemi, poter contare sul supporto logistico e medico del DAN, ti aiuta a superarli con la loro collaborazione e la loro professionalità.
A volte uno è tentato a non fare l'assicurazione sub (a volte l'ho pensato anche io), ma poi quando ti capita qualcosa di imprevisto, allora capisci che sono stati soldi ben spesi (un investimento sulla propria salute)

Dopo un brutto incidente in immersione (una risalita di emergenza da 50 m) l'equipe medica del DAN mi ha aiutato molto interagendo con il centro iperbarico per la correzione della terapia. Ringrazio in particolare la Ds. Ferri.

I had a diving incident in Thailand…
I had a diving incident in Thailand (Koh Chang) and DAN has been at my side from beginning to end. They called me every two hours during the two days I spent in hospital, disregarding the different times. I received the best treatment I could have, including the hyperbaric chamber and I did not need to take out a cent.
I knew they were good, but definitely they surpassed my expectative.

Dan Has Your Back
When I had potential DCI-related symptoms after a dive trip, one of the senior DAN Medical Directors was there on the phone to talk the issue through. He was tremendously knowledgeable and reassuring and helped me work out the next steps - I would never set foot in the water without DAN at my back
