Danbro Experience Disappointing
My experience with Danbro has been very disappointing. I've used several Umbrella Companies.
Standard fees but keen to push Umbrella+ for an extra £10 per week.
Taxes mis-calculated. Realities bears no relation to their sales pitch. Feels adversarial and they're not on my side. I'd expect more from regular payroll as a permanent member of staff.

I only stayed with Danbro for one week…
I only stayed with Danbro for one week and honestly, I wish I had known about all the deductions before joining. I came through an agency and was told to register with Danbro, but I wasn’t made aware that around £294 would be taken from my pay as company deductions, on top of income tax and National Insurance. It left me with much less than I expected for the hours I worked. My advice: before joining, ask them to explain every single deduction and exactly how much you’ll actually take home. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Sorry to hear how you feel about your experience.
We understand your frustration that your take-home pay is less than you were expecting, however we must stress that all umbrella companies must make the statutory deductions required by law.
For clarity, 'Company Deductions' includes Employer's National Insurance and the Apprenticeship Levy. These employment costs must, legally, be paid to HMRC, as is the case with all compliant and accredited umbrella companies in the UK.
In order to account for this without you being left out of pocket, your contracted rate (the money sent to us by your agency) is uplifted when compared to an equivalent PAYE/permanent role.
The only money we retain from the contracted rate is our nominal margin, which we use to cover the costs of providing our service to you.
We make every effort to ensure all contractors fully understand and are comfortable with the deductions made. Our website prominently features a detailed take-home pay calculator as well as a guide to how umbrella companies operate (you can find both of which, here: umbrellacompany.co.uk/calculator,) and our registration teams always run through illustrations, in full, over the phone.
We have discussed this with you over the phone and explained why you must pay these deductions.

Smooth sailing

Danbro really looked after me after my…
Danbro really looked after me after my stroke last year.
I was paid statutory sick pay. (Which l didn't know l was entitled to)
Holiday pay as well, which no other umbrella ever paid me.
Staff always in contact, very professional, especially Billie.
All in all, a great company. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
