Constantly spams peoples LinkedIn accounts with "But you're not qualified in CV writing."
Rude. Obnoxious and really don't understand how LinkedIn still host him on their platform.
He's clearly insecure and a misogynist.

Ian commented on my LinkedIn post saying I don’t have the qualifications to write CVs. I have been in recruitment for over 10 years and with a CIPD in Human Resources Practice so I’ve seen my fair share of CVs. I deleted the comment and messaged him directly saying I had deleted it because it was unnecessary, unkind and unwanted. He continued to message me being rude, nasty and in the end, he blocked me.
He’s someone I would never recommend or use his services.

Ian contacted me in LinkedIn. When I declined following reviews on trustpilot he claimed they were all false and was abusive. I don’t appreciate being called stupid when I declined his services. I didn’t ask for them and might have explored them if I hadn’t got that response. He may or may not be good but won’t be exploring his services having been called stupid for saying no (and have got the screenshot) I blocked him and he has since blocked me. Don’t go anywhere near him!

I was introduced to Ian a few years ago when I was searching for a job. I was getting interviews so knew my CV was doing its job, but felt it worthwhile speaking to someone who claimed to be an expert in CV writing.
Ian literally pulled my CV apart. I just sat there and nodded in the right places and left with no intention of making any of the changes that he suggested.
I can’t remember how he became aware of my decision but when he did, he became very abusive verbally and obviously took it personally that I wasn’t prepared to take on his suggestions. I ended up blocking him on all forms of communication and social media to silence his abuse. Unfortunately, I have read numerous other reviews in the same vein. 

It’s hard to put into words the insanity of this guy, if indeed he is a real CV writer and not someone sitting in a padded cell rocking backwards & forwards. LinkedIn lets him get away with vile abuse all the time. Some of his messages are totally bizarre. He’s just a thoroughly unpleasant person and one to avoid.

Look, I'll say this. I'm an executive coach.
I've been writing CVs for clients for 6 years, and consistently received 5-star reviews on all platforms I collect them.

I'm all for competition - in fact I actively connect with other coaches and CV writers as I see the value in community and, frankly, we refer work each other's way.

But for Ian Viner to turn up on one of my Linkedin posts (it was about supporting with Outplacement services) with the comment "Except you are not an expert in writing a CV" (itself a poorly written sentence), well, he just showed himself to be the man the other reviews here describe him as.

He then blocked me (I can't say I'm sorry about that), so his comment remained - but I could neither see it nor deal with it.

It would seem he uses bully tactics backed with cowardice. Give him a wide berth and do not succumb to his attempts to belittle you.

So, the one star given is purely because Ian managed to make me look good and only further damage his own reputation. Thumbs up!

I wouldn't even give this horrible specimen 1 star. Became abusive about my CV after I said I wouldn't use his services. How this man is still in business is beyond me. STAY CLEAR

BEWARE OF THIS GUY!! Everything said here is 100%the absolute truth. He will contact you on either LinkedIn or Whatsapp, advised my CV was terrible and i couldnt spell. if you don't agree to accepting his cv 1 to 1 offer he will then belittle you and criticise, then will block you on LinkedIn, This guy seriously as issues and needs investigating.He will target certain individuals i.e jobseekers just to abuse them if you don't agree.."the awards" he claims to have achieved should be stripped and he shouldn't be allowed to run a CV writing business at all.

Absolutely awful, he was very rude when I turned down his cv services. There is no need for rudeness!

Only given one star as no option to give zero!! This man is extremely rude!! Wanted £500 to rewrite my CV which he said was absolutely awful!! AVOID!!

Given 1 star only as you can't give no stars - a rude, unpleasant, narcissistic, awful man. Messaged me twice on LinkedIn, unsolicited, with the second message asking me to "respond to him now". Following my message back saying I didn't need his services and that perhaps his responses to other people's posts on LinkedIn could be a bit more polite, I received a message back saying I don't know how to write a CV - have reported him to LinkedIn.

Absolutely vile man. Offered a free CV review (I'm a Senior Recruitment professional with 28 years experience) which I thought may be good to have another pair of eyes look over my CV. He literally pulled it to pieces and then chased me wanting follow up services he offered. When I politely declined he became rude. Only now have I seen the extent of his continued insults when I turned to LinkedIn. He's infamous for his disgusting behaviour. He's a serious narcissist

I politely turned down Ian Viner’s services.

He set up an email account in my name and sent a message to everyone at the company I was working for:

“Your all a bunch of c__ts”

But he didn’t hide the C-word.

He needs to see a doctor.

What started as a simple LinkedIn comment turned into one of the worst professional interactions I’ve encountered.

After publicly criticising my CV without offering any useful feedback, Ian messaged me privately. Instead of offering help, he aggressively pushed his services while insulting my experience, belittling my background, and even telling me to "swallow my pride" if I wanted proper advice.

When I stood my ground and challenged his tone, he doubled down with more personal attacks, dismissed experienced industry recruiters as “idiots,” and finally blocked me after I refused to engage further.

This wasn’t feedback. It was manipulation. It felt like an attempt to tear me down just to make a sale - completely unprofessional, completely inappropriate, and honestly, quite disgusting.

Avoid at all costs. There are plenty of people offering genuine help. This was not one of them.

I had the same experience as a number of other reviewers. Ian was very nice and polite until I had to cancel (for reasons out of my control). He was immediately aggresive and even more so when I suggested I should get at least some of my money back.

Awful service! Disgusting person with no manners 🤮🤮🤮

Dated advice, rude and unprofessional. There are much better options out there.

Ian cold contacted me on LinkedIn offering a free CV review. To echo what 28/93% of the reviewers have stated, when I declined he became rude and abusive.

I cannot believe that people behave like this, particularly when trying to source clients!!

I cannot state highly enough: avoid at all costs!!

Sent me an unsolicited message to review my CV "from the goodness of his heart". I didn't reply immediately (I'm busy running GLOBAL TALENT ACQUISITION teams - hint hint, I don't need this idiot's "service"). Sent me loads of abuse because I didnt reply quickly enough and couldnt grasp that 20 years in Talent means I dont need a CV review from someone like him, and if I did I certainly didnt to pay for it. Avoid like the plague.

I politely declined and he decided to tell me I had no idea how to write a CV and stooped even further by signing off with 'no wonder you have been out of work so long'.

Solely because I said no ...

I would have liked to have tagged him on LinkedIn to share with my network, but he immediately blocked me.

Looking at the reviews, this is his typical MO. Nice guy ...
