Would be nice if when people paid for a one off pass that they are informed that half the machines have “ do not use “ on them. What a joke. Paid $40 to literally have to wait for other people because about half of the Frasercove branch had machines not in use.

The design of the new location in Lyall bay is madness. There are so many cardio machines that people don't use, and a tiny functional fitness area slapped as an after thought downstairs. It would be great if the gym accommodated people who wanted to use kettlebells, sleds, trx, skipping etc. not just teens on machines.

**Very disappointing customer service at CityFitness Lower Hutt**

I had a very disappointing experience at CityFitness Lower Hutt.

On 31 August, my son and I visited the club to enquire about membership for my 15-year-old son, as his friend is already a member. Unfortunately, the reception staff were very cold and unwelcoming. After that experience, I honestly did not want to join CityFitness.

Because my son's friends train there, we decided to give it another chance and returned the next day. The club manager, Martina, assisted us, but again, I found the customer service very disappointing. She started filling out the membership form without properly explaining the membership, pricing or conditions. I noticed the price on the form was $9.90 per week and asked why it was not $7.99, as I had understood from the promotion. I was then told that the special offer had ended the previous day.

I completely understand that promotions have expiry dates and that businesses have their own policies. My issue is **the way the information was communicated and the overall attitude towards us as potential customers**. I had to keep asking questions to understand why the price was different, rather than receiving a clear explanation from the beginning. No one informed us the day before that the special offer was ending, and when I asked about the price difference the following day, the club manager asked me, **“Do you still want to join?”** in a very blunt and dismissive manner. The way this was communicated made me feel as though our business was not valued and that it did not matter to them whether we joined or not.

As a parent signing up a 15-year-old, I expected the staff to be welcoming, helpful and willing to explain the membership options clearly. Instead, the experience made me feel like CityFitness did not really care whether we joined or not.

The only reason we eventually went ahead was because my son's friends are members there and he wanted to train with them. If we had another suitable option for a 15-year-old, I would have walked away.

Great place to thrive with your personal fitness journey. No egos, just you versus you. Friendly helpful staff, and never had any problems or issues. Recommend to all.

planned on canceling my membership for 3months whilst I was going overseas, to later rejoin once I got back. But when I went to cancel they said they take 4 weeks more of payments before canceling. This is such a scummy tactic to get a little more money out of people canceling memberships and because of this I will be joining a different gym when I return that doesn't use scummy tactics to drain people of money

I have been going to CityFitness since I went to high school so over 10 years on and off (my mum was paying) but I’ve recently made my own membership account so I can pay it myself but I’ve never had such a disgusting experience within those 10 years or even had any problems. I had a poorly experience with one of the staff members in Westgate CityFitness, Auckland. Her name is Ashley. She was incredibly rude and ignored me and had attitude when I tried to ask her a question. She only acknowledged me and talked to me when I went to one of her colleagues to ask the question. She holds grudges against customers. I’m disappointed to see the lack of professionalism. And when I asked for cancellation forms, she was so eager for us to cancel our membership.

No tag no gym,

I forgot my tag and they allowed me to enter ONCE, i have since tagged myself in but ended up forgetting it a second time, this time I was denied entry.

I get that you need to try and hold it with you at all times but even a bank will identify you and still help you.

Maybe if you had like a 3 strike policy of consecutive times but you only get to enter one time if you don't have your tag with you seems unreasonable.

Went to city fitness in Rotorua with my friend , my sons kindy was closed so had to bring him along. Get there & got told he wasn’t allowed, no kids under 14. Yet theres a kid looks the same age as my son sitting on the side playing on the iPad with head phones, another mother with her son in a capsule. Thought it was abit discriminating in all honesty

First time using my premium tag at Ruakura & did not even work....very disappointing as that was the main reason for signing up - quieter space, access to recovery. Was not just my tag either & very much made sure I was paying a pro-rata first week!!

Did know that City Fittness instructors are podiatrist’s certified and know everything about feet and foot wear suitable for the client. In Christchurch. Found out they don’t even come close in been taught about feet or foot wear in there courses so why are they telling us what to wear with or without arches and the biomechanics of feet when they don’t even test the foot first like a podiatrist

I recently cancelled my membership at CityFitness Willis Street after an experience that left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed. One day, a trans woman was using the open‑plan female changing room. Because the facilities aren’t private, I checked the membership terms and asked staff about their policy. At the time, there was no mention of trans‑inclusive changing rooms, and nothing had been communicated to members.

The manager told me they had asked this person to attend only during off‑peak hours, but that wasn’t followed on this occasion. When I suggested updating the policy or at least informing female members so we could make our own decisions about using the space, I never received a response. I also couldn’t find email address to escalate the issue to head office- so I am left writing this review.

I tried to continue for several months, but I no longer felt comfortable or confident in how the situation was handled. When I eventually cancelled, there wasn’t even an option to provide feedback.

It’s a shame, because the gym itself was great and very convenient for me. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency and communication around this issue meant I no longer felt the space was right for me.

Amazing experience at Burnside CityFitness! I’m very satisfied with the service. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this gym to my friends — it’s definitely worth joining!

The Palms Branch was supposed to be staffed until 4pm today. Went to sign up, no staff at the desk from 3.40, sign up as well desk not manned.

Terrible reception staff at Albany Westfield she is horrible i was paid uptodate my card didn’t work to let me in and she wouldn’t let me in and ignored me instead of trying to see what the issue was and if it could be fixed

Fair pricing for gym equipment and service. Been here for one year now. Good locations, but not enough parking spaces.

Very cheap, not dirty, it is always packed but thankfully its 24/7 so I cna figur it out. Churr

I’ve never felt less supported or safe in a gym. CityFitness completely lacks professionalism and accountability

I went to the class on Friday Oct 3rd 12pm at New Mkt Westfield City Fitness attended the Hot Palite class by Sohnal Naran. It was not as engaging as I hoped. Couple of reasons:
1) Sohnal Naran is not able to get the class engaged in the first 15 min. She went straight into the hard core exercise which are quiet challenging for most of the participants
2) when she found out that half of the class cannot keep up. She does not reduce the intensity
3) the music she put on also not fit with the exercise she led
4) she is not able to build the rhythm for her exercise.

Poor customer service when just trying to sort out gym membership, person needs to learn how to use the phone. Ive noticed this staff members name mentioned in multiple other reviews as not great.

Should bring back the proper toilet paper holder. Te rapa gym when theres no staff and paper has gone inside theres no way to pull em out and no one to ask to fix it
