AVOID!!!!

Extremely disappointed with DTE Systems and their after-sales support

I have been a long-time supporter of DTE products and had previously had no issues with my PedalBox. The unit was fitted to my Golf R and worked perfectly for years.

The problem started immediately after my car battery went flat. After this, the PedalBox stopped functioning correctly and I also lost its normal Bluetooth/app functionality. I tested the unit and established that the fault was with the PedalBox itself rather than the vehicle.

I contacted DTE Systems and sent the unit back to Germany at my own expense. I also had to pay £24.19 in additional shipping/customs/admin costs to get the unit to them.

DTE inspected the unit and attempted to flash/update the firmware. They told me that the update was unsuccessful and that they could no longer properly access, read or reprogram the unit.

What I found particularly disappointing was the response afterwards.

DTE acknowledged that I had a long-standing history with their products, but because the PedalBox originally came already fitted to the used car when I purchased it, rather than being purchased directly from DTE or one of their dealers by me, they refused to offer a replacement, upgrade, discount or even a goodwill solution.

I understand that the unit is from around 2017 and is therefore approximately nine years old. I'm not claiming that a nine-year-old electronic product should automatically be replaced free of charge. What disappointed me was the complete lack of goodwill towards a long-standing customer, particularly when:

The unit had worked perfectly until the vehicle battery went flat.

DTE were unable to determine exactly what had failed.

DTE were unable to restore or reprogram the unit.

I paid to send the unit back to Germany for investigation.

I was also charged additional costs getting it there.

I was offered no replacement, upgrade, discount or goodwill assistance.

I was ultimately just sent the faulty unit back.

The most frustrating part is that I wasn't expecting DTE to simply give me a brand-new product for free. I would have been happy to discuss a reasonable paid repair, upgrade or discounted replacement.

Instead, after years of using and recommending DTE products, I was essentially told that nothing could be done.

For me, this has completely changed my opinion of the company. The product may have worked well while it was functioning, but after-sales support is just as important as the product itself.

I won't be purchasing another DTE PedalBox, and unfortunately I can't recommend DTE based on my experience with their customer support.

Es läuft alles als wäre es Original nur mit spürbarer mehr Leistung! Hut ab vor den Programmierer. Die Kundenbetreuung ist ein Traum! Ganz Herzlichen Dank an das komplette Team!

Der Service und das Beantworten von Fragen ist das Problem dieses Unternehmens.
Bei mir zuletzt, zugegeben ein besonderes Anliegen weil die Powerbox umgeschrieben und danach nicht genehmigt wurde, nach einigen Wochen mein Problem freundlich geschildert und gefragt ob wir die Box zurück auf den Ursprung abwickeln können. Keine Antwort!
Der Bestellprozess war auch von Missverständnissen geprägt. In Summe recht merkwürdig und ich würde nicht nochmal bestellen.

I bought tuning box for My C3 2.5 bluehdi.
Throttle response was significant without problems.
after 1 year box probably a had a malfunction. After reporting the problem, DTE guys send me a new one free of charge even I was not covered by guarantee.
A real company with awesome service and after sale support. Recommended 100%

Unaffordable Customer Care Service of unreliable Company.
They sent me a wrong device for my car and I had to open a Paypal claim to get a refund for the shipping costs for returning that item as promised.
Be very careful before shopping here! 👎🏼

Ho avuto un problema con una delle loro Power control ,ho inviato una mail e dopo pochi istanti mi hanno risposto che mi invieranno una nuova Power control .grazie DTE system Reputazione eccezionale direi unica.

Habe mir am 30.12 die PedalBox Pro bestellt. Kam heute an, hab sie direkt eingebaut. Da Plug&Play unglaublich easy.
Fahre einen VW Passat GTE aus Baujahr 2021
Die 208 PS die ich habe fühlen sich gleich doppelt damit an.
Doppelter Fahrspass garantiert!

Einfach eine klare Empfehlung!

Die Telefonische Vorabinformationen waren sehr informativ, sehr freundlich und all meine Fragen wurden beantwortet. Sogar meine Sorgen um eventuelle Schäden nach dem Einbau der PedalBox Pro in mein Auto (Opel Mokka 1.4 Turbo, Bj 2016, 181 Tkm) wurden beantwortet. Kundenfreundlichkeit ist sehr ausgeprägt bei dem Kundenberater, den ich am Telefon hatte. Sogar als ich nach dem Einbau noch Probleme mit der Kopplung mit meinem Iphone 13 pro max hatte, sagte mir der Kundenberater mir genau, was ich tun soll .. Voilá .. alles funktioniert einwandfrei!

Diese Firma ist nicht zu empfehlen.
Beratung und Service sind einfach unprofessionell

Ich habe die PedalBox bestellt und ausprobiert, dann aber nach weniger als 1 Woche zurückgeschickt, weil das Produkt mit meinem Auto nicht harmonierte. Die Erstattung des Kaufpreises erfolgte prompt, ganz ohne Probleme, und das ist zu loben! Zurück zum nicht harmonieren: mein Auto hat den 1.5 TSI Motor mit DSG aus dem VW-Konzern, da kann ich schnell aufs "Sport"-Programm oder in die manuelle Gasse umschalten, und das funktioniert insgesamt besser als das Fahren mit PedalBox. Bei anderen Modellen, speziell ohne Automatik, kann die PedalBox sicher sehr viel besser funktionieren.
