Bunnings Warehouse Arvostelua 

Don’t expect too much. Some of the staff are woeful with their knowledge and even basic customer service. To be honest I couldn’t wait to leave. Some of the prices are good but compared to my visit to Mitre 10 yesterday this was like light and dark.
Look to Home Depot in USA for some inspiration. Maybe time to cull some of the underperforming staff.

Bunnings (Canberra Airport) scores a 'fail'. in early 2025, I went to buy a simple cloth covered cardboard folding storage box called Clever Cube 330mm x 330mm x 370mm. Shelf price $5.48. I'd bought them before for less at Bunnings and nearby IKEA. At the checkout I'm advised the price is $15.

Three staff and Store Manager try to convince me that 2 long display shelves have the wrong prices and items. Their theory: customers moved the items! Seriously? When I suggest that there's a glitch in the computer system they said, 'No'. $15 is correct. Manager offers me price of $10. I declined, advising him I could buy similar at the nearby IKEA for $4.00. Any apology from Manager or his staff? No.

Time passes and in September 2025, I'm asked to provide customer feedback. Operations Manager for the Store follows up with an email, asking for my mobile number. I email back the number. Result? it's a month later, there has been nothing, zip, nada, zilch, zero!

Postscript: 21/2/26. Still nothing from Bunnings and the shelf price is still $5.48

Took my payment and instantly cancelled the order. No explanation. I was given wrong number 2 times. I was promissed to get call back with resolution. Just ignorance.

Thought I would try a different suppler from my norm M10, bought something online for it to error out, get charged and held funds for 7-10 days, If I ran my biz like that I would have no clients. fastest account removal and reorder from m10 I have ever done lol

I am a Bunnings trade customer, was recently at the Mt Maunganui store to buy a heavy duty table saw, I was told there are non in stock, but The Rotorua branch has one. I was also told by the tool room manager, "buy this one online and they will ship it freely to the Mount store". Despite 3 phone calls and 2 emails to ONLINE sales over the last 4 days, the saw is still in Rotorua . Seemingly nobody cares OR maybe it is company policy once they received full payment. From now on I will think twice before buying anything from this company again.

Went to purchase a replacement Lockwood digital lock from Riccarton that said was in stock, was directed to 3 different locations within the store by staff who were unhelpful and had zero product knowledge. One even rudely suggested I was looking on the wrong website. Suffice to say I never found or purchased what i went there for and went and purchased from Christchurch locksmiths who was helpful and had excellent product knowledge.

I have been in 4 times trying to order a product, each time there have been no staff able to help. Made an appointment and arrived to be told to wait 30 minutes as he was on a break. Staff member was very good when available. They need more trained staff.

Staff unwilling to help, lack knowledge and are rude.

Picked up tools and soil. Everything in stock, staff were helpful. Checkout line a bit long.

After years of in-shop buying from Bunnings, and only ever having the best of customer service for both purchases and warranty issues, there appeared to be no reason not to purchase using their on-line tool for a product that was not a stocked item – wrong!
The initial on-line sign in and purchase was very simple. Order accepted, money taken and confirmation order sent – done – although, no, it wasn’t done. 5 mins later receive and email cancelling the order due to “an issue processing your order, apologies for any inconvenience” and the money taken would show as a pending transaction and “should be released within 7-10 days”! Further followup was not forthcoming from Bunnings and took 3 phone calls and 2 emails (still waiting for something more robust than “Your request (email) has been received…will be in touch within 1-2 business days”) – sounds like the start of a Tui ad! – to finally speak to someone, however, no further information was provided on what/why this had happened.
The pending transaction has finally been reversed and removed – 5 working days. Interesting how a company like Temu, handling millions of transactions, can do a reverse transaction within around 5 mins. Apart from no formal/information response from Bunnings, they also haven’t been in contact to see if another order for these goods was required! This order has now been done through a reliable retailer.
Poor show Bunnings.

I bought a Victa straight shaft line trimmer, supposedly a new product line, I used the machine twice, the machine would stop spinning the head, at full revs for no reason, ( junk ) motor was at full revs, the machine has a 2 year warranty, I took the machine back and requested a refund ( CGA Act ) states if a customer requests a refund, then a refund must be given, Bunnings refused to honor this, and then had the gall to say, I damaged the machine, they also demanded I pay for repairs, after words, they gave me back the machine after 6 weeks in repair, with no refund, the machine will now be given the flick, Bunnings staff have been obnoxious, too lazy to call back, and been ignorant of Consumer law in NZ, I will NOT buy from Bunnings if I can do so.

On the 4th August 2025 I called Bunnings Riccarton chch about buying some fence palings it took 15 minutes for someone to answer the phone she transfered me to building supplies where no one
answered my call! So it bounced back to the girl who then transferred me to the manager of the building supplies department when he answered the phone I told him I wanted a price of some fence palings size 150x12x1800 he said point blank well ( I'm on lunch right now! ) I said umm I have been waiting for someone now for 20 minutes to get a price and im not calling back because your on lunch ! he really didn't want to help me I got the feeling customers are not important at this businesses he was very very rude and he just didn't want to help me what so ever!! He sounded so put out that he had to go to the building supplies and get me a price on fence palings!! Once he found out the price and told me he just hung up the phone he didn't ask me if there's anything else I needed or anything no goodbye nothing!! He was
in such a rush I couldn't even ask any other questions!! So with this very bad service I wont be shopping at Bunnings ever again I will be doing all my shopping
with Mitre10 from now on!!
Highly disappointed to be treated in this manner your workers need to realize it's your customers who pay their wages!and great customer service matters!

I am rather over going in to Bunnings Invercargill to buy wood pellets for my fire only to get there and and find out they have none. This has happened many times and it’s a 60 km round trip for me. You would think in the middle of winter their stocks would be up and should never run out!

Bunnings did not get my online order right I was missing an item and when I confronted them about the online order at the Gisborne bunch of bunnings They were convince that had the items included but I had the order number and the email with the list of items I was invoiced for They however eventually came to the conclusion they did make a mistake I eventually got the item delivered to me I most definitely will not be ordering from bunnings again or dealing with them again

Spoke with Dan this afternoon who is on the customer support team. He was very helpful, professional and quick to solve my issue in regards to a refund as Manukau bunnings did not have my item in stock so thank you so much Dan! much appreciated.

After Bunnings asking me for a review I did so and because it was a bad review they didn't publish it and refused too.
I put an honest fair review and they refused to publish it

Bunnings Rotorua NZ used to be a good store , obviously the management of this store has fallen down big time , staff issues , stocking issues , click n collect products not showing online even though you have them in store ,lack of front line staff on checkouts , you have self serviced checkouts that are hardly ever open , what's the point in them ? , long queues at checkouts as limited staff on front line duties , I myself have had a basket of stuff , got fed up of waiting and chucked it in a trolley and walked out and gone to Mitre 10 which was a professional, courteous and much more fulfilling experience.

Don't know what has happened at Bunnings Rotorua NZ but as a business you are failing your customers big time .

A warning to prospective online purchasers!
The delivery of online purchases from Bunnings is extremely unreliable.
A parcel was addressed to a NZ Post parcel collection facility. They don’t deliver to those ( this is not disclosed at the time of purchase) so it was delivered to my home. I wasn't there so it was left outside - essentially on the footpath of a city street. Predictably, it was gone before I returned home. It is all my fault, apparently!
I will not be shopping with Bunnings again.
