Just returned from my amazing adventure of the “5 Stan’s” wow what an incredible tour my 14th with Bunnik. The tour was packed with amazing sights, history, culture and the local people and food was great. Our tour leader was very great always there to help us at all times. The local guides were very knowledgeable. The meals included on the tour was wonderfull, the accommodation was top class and in great locations. If you are looking for a different adventure you must go to the “5 Stan’s” you will not be disappointed.

This trip is one that I will never forget. Bunnik tours made sure we were taken to the best places of historic and cultural interest, to the most beautiful natural scenery and more. We had great hotels, delicious (and safe) food, good transport and all of this in a very relaxed atmosphere. A big shout out to our tour guide Alexander, who made sure that we were all looked after. Excellent holiday with a very informative guide/s. The sights seen were better than expected with variations from desert regions, vast agricultural areas, snow covered mountains and everything between. Each and every area / country visited was different. The group I was with, were a group of compatible people, and we all worked in well together. We were all from different backgrounds, and this diversity created a positive aspect during the trip. The staff at Bunniks, operated very efficiently, and kept me informed along the way, including the re-arrangement of flights due to the conflict in the Middle East area. Everything went smoothly. Overall, very happy with the whole process, and the tour was better than my initial expectations of what I was expecting to see and experience. A wonderful holiday.

This trip was one of the best I have ever done and I have done many. Every day I found myself saying “wow” at least once. The richness of culture, history, diversity, beauty of buildings and landscapes, generosity and kindness of the people, etc were all “wow”. Our guides were of the highest standard as was the accommodation, meals and transport. I only have one recommendation. As there are a number of free time opportunities I suggest that it would be very helpful if the guide could recommend with a link to one or two interesting places, museums, galleries, etc to visit near the accommodation. All in all, a wonderful experience.

The tour exceeded my expectations Khordid our tour leader was very kind and caring had an absolute wealth of knowledge and kept the whole tour running smoothly. I loved the history of the 5 Stans and thought it was amazing how far they had come since their independence. I especially found the mountains awe unspiring. The local guides were very good and I thought Eugenni in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakstan was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour as did Khordid. The only downside was I was told I had to take a backpack without wheels which turned out to be false as everyone else on the tour had suitcases or backpacks with wheels. My travel agent from Hello World confirmed that this is what she was told by Abby at Bunnik Tours. Although again Khordid did help me with the backpack which I appreciated very much, it was very awkward to use.

The overall trip was well paced with great sightseeing, very knowledgeable guides and at all times we always felt very safe. Our tour of the five stands was a great tour. We have done many Bunnik tours before and have been looked after well. Our five Stands was a place that was different, Vince wanted to do this tour because his relative Marco Polo had been on the Silk Road. The guide Timu was excellent and did everything possible to make our tour run as smoothly as possible. Our local guides were also great, All the Stans were different so there was a mix of culture and nature. The buses were good as some days we did long trips. It was almost thirty days so we were extremely lucky that the group of 16 people were great to get on with. It was a fun adventurous trip and would recommend if you want something different this is the trip to do. Thankyou to Vicki at Bunniks for organising everything without a hitch.

The Bunnik 5 Stans small group tour was exceptionally well organised. The itinerary, logistics, land transfers and hotels were all of a very high standard, making the trip both enjoyable and memorable. The booking process with Bunnik’s travel consultants was straightforward, and the pre-departure briefing pack was very helpful in preparing us for the journey, including potential challenges at border crossings. The rerouting of our original flights to avoid the 2026 Middle East conflict was also handled seamlessly. Our in-country tour leader, Timur, was especially personable and supportive throughout the trip. The local guides were also highly knowledgeable and greatly enriched our understanding of both the historic and modern Silk Road. Overall, this was a highly enjoyable trip, with a great variety of experiences and inclusions, while still allowing plenty of time to absorb the atmosphere, engage with local people, and enjoy their culture and cuisine. The "5 Stans" are vast, full of natural and man-made things to see, you need plenty of time to scratch the surface and any shorter than Bunniks four-week programme would result in a very busy holiday. Our plans were jeopardised by closure of Dubai airport late in our preparations but Bunnik went out of their way to re-ticket us so as not to miss out. All in all, a great job.

So, in the early morning I will leave Kazakhstan, fly via Istanbul and Singapore to get to Darwin mid afternoon Saturday. I’ve spent the last month on a tour, my first ever, across Central Asia. It’s been a blast. I’ve learnt more and enjoyed more than I ever would have imagined. I’ve eaten some spectacular foods and drank more vodka than I would have thought possible. Part of my enjoyment was the 12 other people I travelled with, all older Australians, who were all seasoned tour types, who I enjoyed the company of. Also our guides were all excellent, not least Sascha, who was our one constant and displayed an outstanding sense of adventure. However, I am missing my wife and family and am looking forward to getting home. I don’t think I’d do another tour, but if it could work for Wendy, that would change my mind. So, for anyone looking for some adventure, I’d commend the Five Stan’s, or at least Kyrgyzstan, and Bunnik Tours.

Great tour of the five -stans. The itinerary ensures key attractions are covered, while also offering interesting experiences and free time for pursuing personal interests. The accommodation and provided meals were very good to excellent (the latter often come in Gargantuan sizes), the local guides were very knowledgeable and relatable. The natural beauty, architecture, arts and crafts, etc. are something to behold. Understanding the history of this part of the world helps understand the societal, economic, cultural and linguistic developments not just in Central Asia but far beyond.

There was so much packed into this holiday; from hot desert landscapes, rugged mountain passes and snow covered resorts. The variety of architecture ranged from mud-brick buildings to ultra modern. I would rate our accommodation as 4 star. Our travel guide was excellent and added greatly to our understanding of the history of this region and the role of the silk road. Don’t be put off by the perceived remoteness of this area. Visit now before the 5-Stans becomes the next “must do” tourist destination.
