Extremely disappointing experience at Orlando Airport. We had a reservation and still had to wait an unacceptably long time to get our car. The most frustrating part was watching customers without reservations being helped before those of us who had booked in advance. What’s the point of making a reservation if it doesn’t save you any time or guarantee better service?

The entire process was disorganized and inefficient. A reservation should mean something, but clearly it doesn’t here. I would seriously reconsider renting from this location unless you have hours to waste waiting in line.

Avoid Budget Truck Rental at ALL Costs

Never rent a truck from Budget Truck Rental. This company should be held accountable for what feels like outright fraud.

We reserved a 26-foot truck for our out-of-state move two months in advance and received confirmation. A week before the move, we even went in person, and they verified the reservation and assured us the truck was secured. Then, just four days before our move date, they suddenly canceled the reservation, claiming there were no 26-foot trucks available within a 100-mile radius.

They had two full months to fulfill the booking and did nothing. They offered us zero alternatives, compensation, or even an apology just a casual “oh well.” We were forced to scramble and luckily found a last-minute moving company, but we’re now paying significantly more than the original truck rental would have cost. Budget should be required to cover the difference for completely failing to honor their commitment.

We strongly urge everyone to avoid Budget Truck Rental and Budget Car Rental. They cannot be trusted to honor reservations and repeatedly screw over customers. This needs to be addressed with a class action lawsuit. Horrible, unreliable company, don’t waste your time or money with them.

I would rate as zero if it was possible. We used the 16 ft truck for moving interstate. The cabin and cargo has a lot holes and on the way we got soaked. The USB place was fake and inside of it was nothing so you cannot listen or use your map as your phone cannot be charged. Nowadays there is no gate on the toll ways so cameras capture it and then budget truck will send you many times higher bill than expected which in our case they charge us $100 for just tolls. Be aware thar you cannot return the truck after hours in 90% of their places. If you reserve the car cargo they do not even know how to connect the trailer to the truck.

If you want to deal with a company that is so incompetent that they'd make a good skit for Faulty Towers, these guys are fit the bill.
I had to transport garage door panels 3080mm long, and asked for their van with a 3400mm long tray. They take me to a small truck with an enclosed rear. I take one look at it and say :
"That looks like it's 3000mm at best." The staff member assures me it's 3400mm long. I stepped it out, and again said that i doubt it's longer than 3000mm. He again assured me that the tray was 3400mm long. I siad it better be, because i didn't want t owate my time driing to Dandenong South and back if the panels didn't fit.
I get to Dandenong Sth, and sure enough i have an 80mm over hang, and am unable to shut the rear doors.
I take the truck back and the staff member appologies and organises a suitable vehicle for the following day.
I make it clear that i will not be paying a cent for the truck that wasn't long enough, pointing out that it was even written in their notes that i had items 3080mm long to transport.
I get there the next day, and then i meet the manager who i will refer to as Captain Calamity who informs me that i will have to pay for the truck from the previous day becaue i did 70km in it. This is for the trip i made for nothing because they don't know the length of their own vehicles.
I point out that the 70km was a waste of my time because the vehicle wasn't long enough for the job, despite the assurances of the staff member standing mute right next to him.
I hold them they could stick the second rental and that if they billed my account it would end up in VCATT.
I then end up with a situation where the doors aren't delivered to site, and my client is demanding a refund of the $12,000 of doors. I now have 4 single garage doors sitting in storage the client won't take, so this case will now go to VCATT for what these clowns have billed, plus the price of the doors, plus my wasted time driving a truck not fit for purpose half way across Melbourne.
Good luck talking your way out of this one in front of a magistrage idiots!

I made my reservation with Budget online for a pickup date of May 25th at the Horn Lake, Mississippi location. Upon arriving, the location was completely closed. I immediately contacted customer service and was informed that all Budget locations were closed. This was extremely frustrating, especially since I had already called the location beforehand to verify they would be open due to the holiday on the 25th, and I was specifically told they would be operating.

I then contacted customer service again seeking assistance and asked to have my concern escalated to a supervisor. I was told the supervisor was unavailable at the time, but that I would receive a callback after 12 p.m. Unfortunately, no one ever returned my call. When I called back myself, the only information I was repeatedly given was that all locations were closed, with no real solution or assistance offered.

This situation caused a major inconvenience during my move and created unnecessary stress and delays. The lack of communication, inaccurate information, and poor customer service experience were very disappointing. Based on this experience, I would never use Budget again and would not recommend them to others.

Budget truck rental in Salisbury absolut waste of time. I’m hired a moving truck online days prior to pick up and was told on arrival I needed a physical debit card and without it was unable to hire the truck. My entire day was situated around the truck hire and there was absolutely no help or resolution what so ever. Thankfully I contacted a competitor truck hire company which were able to help straight away (SIXT) save yourself the time and do not book with budget.

I parked my car in Nambour and when I returned a witness said they saw a truck side swipe my car causing damage . The witness followed the driver for a distance till he stopped to check the truck for damage. I phoned Budget and they said they would get back to myself but never did over and over. I would have thought they would try to help myself out but the arrogance of the manager is unbelevable . Put in a claim through the police but still nothing and judging by all the complaints I have read that the way they are, just $ ,no service

I rented a budget truck to move from New York to Florida. . Picked it up on the 6th of March at 1525 grand central avenue in Elmira. Rude woman that told us not to come back to the last desk. Just stay in the front. The guy that did the paperwork was alright. However, I had my friend with me who was going to drive the truck. We asked if he needed my drivers license. He said NO. We go out to look at the truck and my friend says that's a soft tire. The guy says, no, it's just the way it's sitting. Never looked in the cab either. A can of soda must have been left in it and it exploded all over the windshield, seats and door. My driver's wife cleaned it. They don't clean those trucks when returned. Loaded the truck on the 7th and got on the road on the 8th in the morning. On our way to Florida we never made it to the highway(Thank God) Front outside tire blew. Three hours waiting for repair. Finally get to Florida and turn the truck in at North Avenue in Iverness and make known our complaints. The person said if we had been in a serious accident, I would have been liable for everything because Elmira never took my drivers information. They don't inspect or clean those trucks when they are returned to the office in Elmira on 1525 Grand Central Avenue. That's the only office this review applies to. They don't do anymore than they want to with a lot of disgraceful attitude on top of it.

Worst in every aspect:
1) Vehicles are not inspected/maintained/serviced - you are risking your life on the road with flat tires, broken suspension, and so on
2) Roadside service after 10 hours, even during the daytime, even on a major highway in a city area
3) Even if the vehicle breaks down because it was not serviced on time, the company will not take any responsibility; it will lawyer up, and you will be left high and dry
4) Reserve the trucks at your own risk and rely on luck is their motto
5) Not sure if the Budget Car rental does the same because I have not had any roadside issues so far. The Budget Truck Rental is a fraud, irresponsible company for your Moving needs

Go for U-Haul, or Penske, or any other local company instead

Booked a van in advance for a move from Salt Lake City to Portland. They called me the day before to say no vans would be available. Too late to book from somewhere else causing a last minute scramble to change plans, hotel, and all other parts of the move. Why even bother offering reservations if they're not going to actually reserve you something? Won't be using or recommending Budget in the future.

Given a discount code through workplace program, invalid. Tried to contact customer service as the website states they’re manning the phone until 11pm. Total lie

I called Budget Truck Hire - The person I dealt with over the phone was utterly incompetent. He could also not comprehend basic English, even when speaking as slow and clearly as possible.

It would also appear that Budgets services are very limited, especially when compared to other truck rental agencies.

Get it right Budget truck hire, employ people with English comprehension skill and/or basic analytical skills. So frustrating. NOT RECOMMENDED

The guy in calgary airport for budget truck insurance was so rude. We did nkt buy his insurance, he probably did nit get his commission, was being extremely rude. Unfortunately we did it take his name. But he was asian , bearded with glasses. Just want to aware people to be prepared as we were not. We had a bitter start to the day . Thank you

I rented a truck from Budget Trucks located in Campbellfield, Victoria. After completing the payment, I returned the truck without any problems. However, I noticed that they charged two of my accounts, which they are denying. They have only agreed to refund the amount of $400 and not the extra payment of $191.72. I have submitted the necessary documentation to demonstrate the two charges. Based on my experience, I would not recommend using their services for truck rentals, as they tend to deflect responsibility when it comes to refunding money owed to customers, often claiming a lack of recollection regarding the issue.

No Cargo Van (or any other budget rental truck) at location that I took an Uber too over an hour away out of state.

Then I call and there are none available in the state of North Carolina or South Carolina within 100 miles after they called each location for me. (So did I while I waited).

My travel plans were ruined which was moving my bedridden mom out of state.

I would never ever consider them for anything.

Rented a van from them a few months ago. The van was in terrible condition as far as the exterior was concerned but the price was unbeatable. Paperwork was a bit lengthy but returning the van was easy.

I rented a Suburban during July 2023. First of all the truck was dirty and smelled of smoke. The insides had not been cleaned. Beads in the back(chocking hazard for kids) and dirt and smudges everywhere. Most important one of the seat belts did not work. We had seven people including children and only six working seat belts. I was on the phone with customer service for more than an hour prior to leaving for my trip and maybe another hour while driving. Therefore, my trip was delayed by more than an hour because we were trying to get a confirmation on an available replacement. The call center indicated there were no more suburbans. I was then informed I could go to BWI ( more than an hour out of my way during rush hour) for a vehicle that may or may not be there. I could not get the call center to guarantee me a replacement. There was no way to reach BWI to confirm a replacement. The alternative was to drive towards my destination and try to exchange the vehicle. Reportedly no vehicles available. Made it to my destination. However, the vehicle would vibrate if you went over 65mph. Car had an oil leak and had to be exchanged for an expedition. All I can say is…. Frustrating!!!!!

AMANDA from SC inventory was absolutely sent down from heaven. I been trying all week to confirm truck reservation and nobody was giving me any answers. I needed a truck and found out 1 hour before my pick up time that the location didnt have it. I Was totally stressed out. She called me and apologized for me not being helped to my satisfaction. She heard my issue and quickly resolved it. It was amazing efficiently she did this when numerous other customer care and inventory couldnt get it fix. Amanda is absolutely a godsend. Budget is very lucky to have her on their team. The rental went fine today and all is well. Thanks to her. So i say thank you Amanda. Good job. God bless and thank you again. You are absolutely, 100% amazing person and the same goes for job that you do. True definition of customer service

THE WORST! RACIAL PROFILING! They were looking at me like I was going to steal their raggedy truck and take it to Mexico to get chopped up for parts. Also the beat up truck had mechanical problems it was pulling to one side the whole trip. Glad I made it without breaking down. Never again!

This company is complete trash!!! I get a call from Budget not even a day and a half before we're supposed to move from Minnesota to Wisconsin to tell me that the truck I reserved 2 weeks prior isn't available!! What?!? I asked the guy who called me to help me find another truck and he told me to call customer service. Really?! I called customer service and they said all they could do is make a request to the Inventory Manager. Seriously?! The inventory manager named Sergio was beyond unprofessional and insulting and when I asked for his employee number he canceled my reservation without my authorization and pretty much told me to go figure it out. Called numerous times before being connected to a supervisor who justified the actions of the inventory manager!!! Not one person I spoke to even tried to help me with the issue. I was forced to stop working for the day just so I could find another truck rental that cost me a lot more because of last-minute reservations. Disgusting people that work for Budget. Disgusting customer service!!! Disgusting company!!!
