Books That Matter Arvostelua 

When the package arrived I felt like it's not really very good value for money. You get one book, maybe a product or 2 and lots of printed material like book marks or just... cardboard flyers. This makes the box look like you get more than you actually do. I have no issue with them making profit on the boxes but I think that the profit margin is probably much higher than the other subscriptions I buy.

I decided to keep on with the subscription anyway as I read a lot and it was fun being part of the community and supporting a female owned business. But then the customer service people were quite rude, and I felt like my business does not mean as much to them as I hoped it did. They just seemed annoyed with me and made me feel like my request was stupid and wasting their time. They even pointed out to me how many other subscribers they have. I'm half expecting them to point out how many other positive reviews they have on their reply to this or even point out how it's actually my fault like they have on other peoples reviews.

I think the business should listen to their support requests and complaints more closely as 90% they're probably from people like me who are happy to subscribe long term but want their problem solved. But they're quite happy for me to go 👋 all because I asked them to pause a box.

I love love LOVE the boxes, it’s a like present to myself every month! The books are always incredibly interesting, some are not necessarily books I’d have picked out myself, which is why I love it so much. It’s definitely broadened the kind of books I pick up now.
The gifts that come with each box are wonderful. I’ve found some lovely businesses through them that I’ve bought from since.

Great boxes with interesting books and lovely presents! I definitly recommend it, this way i get to know also fewer known books.

Absolutely love the boxes. They are bringing a little bit of joy and excitement to my miserable lockdown life! Really enjoyed the December theme, it made me buy the DVD for Shanghai Express which I am eagerly waiting for it to come through the post 🤗 well done team for creating a refreshingly original product. Cannot recommend enough and looking forward to 2021 📚

Great Company, any Issues I had have been dealt with quickly & with no quibbles!
Very interesting books and great treats to go with it.
All the boxes have arrived promptly (I'm UK Based) but they regularly keep their social media updated so you know if there is likely to be any delays, they are a new company experiencing extreme growth!
Boxes are easy to fold down and recycle, which is great, and you don't end up with a bunch of boxes you can't throw away!

Excellent subscription. A lot of thought goes into every box and I enjoy reading something I might not pick up myself.

I bought this for a friend originally as a pick-me-up and then decided to buy a 3 months subscription for myself at the start of Lockdown in March. It was the absolute perfect lockdown treat to myself and the unboxings on Instagram always filled me with excitement for my parcel. My box always arrived quickly and I've never had any problems. I've loved it so much that 3 other friends have since bought subscriptions and they all have said how lovely it was. Would 100% recommend for the book lover in your life!

The actual products are great quality for the price. The customer service lags. My December box was held up by Hermes from the 19th December and I only got a resolution from Books That Matter on the 14th Jan after keeping at them.

The contents of the box is pretty good for what you pay and the book is always well chosen, relevant and enjoyable read (in my option) but the customer service is not good when things go wrong. I ordered a box as a one off to see what it was like. When I decided I was happy with it I ordered a 6 month subscription. As I’d already had the box for that month I asked the subscription to start the following month, which it did. The problem came at the ‘end’ of the subscription, I’d received 5 boxes as part of the subscription and because of the delay I requested in it starting their system said the subscription had ended. I emailed to ask about the 6th box in my subscription and was told my subscription was up to date and had ended. When I explained the delay I requested in it starting they simply said I would have gotten the first box twice, once for the one off purchase and once for the start of the subscription. Which I didn’t and to be quite honest I just gave up at that point.

A few friends at work have been subscribed to this website for some time and I finally gave in and bought a box myself. It is beautifully packaged and presented with a fabulous book and other small, luxurious treats. For £17 a month, I'm hooked!

I heard a representative of the company interviewed on R4, and really wanted to support them. However the website doesn't work - I tried several times and always freezes.
Whilst waiting to see if the problem cleared, I noticed that they had spelling mistakes on the site - stationary instead of stationery. On a "literary" website? With standards like that combined with a non-functioning website, it's back to Amazon.

Subscription boxes are a thing I have really got into this year.
2020 The year we all started changing the way we shopped and thought about things.
I’m disabled so don’t get out much but my disabilities are not visible so people don’t realise and I spend a good 4-6 months every year in partial to total lockdown- I’ve not had anything to ease this torment before but due to the country being locked down so many companies have emerged on my insta' feed adverts or changed their business models to survive and become accessible to me.
I do get so many adverts for things quite similar to products I use.
However in about May I came across this company - Books that matter.
As a self confessed book addict I thought "Go on then I will give this a whirl"
What drew me in, in all honesty was the fact I loved the idea of books I had never heard of, from authors that do not get the air time they deserve!
I was not disappointed
Books that Matter you guys are amazing for what you do both for us readers and the authors and creatives you work with.
I love your history, it inspires me and I hope you grow and grow.
If you subscribe to any book/s and goodies box this year- Make it Books that Matter!

It isn't a monthly sub as you may typically understand it, unless you order on the 15th. So, if you order your box on say 9th Sept (like me)..you'll also be charged for October's on the 15th - so twice in one month initially. I didn't expect this and there was some miscommunication with customer support, but it was quickly resolved.

I've been getting BTM boxes for a year now and I love them! The boxes are always wonderfully crafted and I enjoy being introduced to feminist titles I might not necessarily pick up on my own. Everytime I've had a question customer service has been amazing. I recommend this book box subscription service to everyone!

I've had this subscription box for about 3 months now and I have been pleased every month! The books are always excellent choices and I've looked forward to reading them all. I also love all of the little independent items in the boxes too! Would highly recommend. Also comes beautifully wrapped each month :)

I was lucky enough to get a subscription for Books that matter for Christmas last year, and signed myself up for more once that subscription had finished. It's absolutely one of the highlights of my month!
The books have been excellent choices, the themes have been interesting and I've loved the bits and bobs in the box.
It's been a joy to receive them and it's widened my horizons with feminist literature and writers to seek out more from.
I've found the customer service to be friendly and excellent, even through the very pressured time during lockdown.
Can't recommend it enough!
