We returned from a week away to find our boiler not working early on a Sunday morning. I contacted BHC the same day as they installed and had last serviced the boiler. An engineer attended that afternoon and advised that a new PCB was required. I was also told the manufacturer’s warranty was not valid, and I was quoted over £500.

When the engineer returned a few days later, I was informed that additional parts were needed, increasing the quote by almost £300. At this point I contacted the manufacturer, Alpha, directly.

Alpha confirmed the boiler was still under warranty and sent an engineer within 24 hours. The issue was fully resolved free of charge. Their engineer also queried aspects of the earlier work and diagnosis.

I later tried several times to speak to someone at BHC to clarify the situation but did not receive a call back.

While I appreciate the initial attendance, the incorrect warranty advice, escalating quotes, and lack of follow-up left me without heating and hot water unnecessarily. Based on this experience, I would not choose to use BHC again.

After leaving a review on another site, I have been contacted by the company months later regarding payment for the parts and work carried out, even though the part fitted did not resolve the issue and the fault was ultimately fixed under the manufacturer’s warranty. My replies have never been responded to or acknowledged.

While the firm may perform well when everything goes smoothly, my experience showed that when things do not go according to plan, the service and accountability fall short. I feel it is important to include this as part of my overall experience

I can't say enough good things about the whole team. They gave the job 100% and were professional throughout. Everyday they arrived bright and early and just got on with the job. Apart from rescuing us from damage that was caused by a leak, they worked hard to restore the property to looking brand new.

I had boiler and radiator care for the first year then know one informed me the the cover did no roll over. Try to renew cover having spoken to a woman on the phone she informed me that I would have to pay by d/d which I agreed i have heard nothing since do customer care and service is very very poor.

Called for a plumber to attend an emergency at a care home, they could get there within an hour which is amazing!
The guy turned up on site and we advised he needed to do a lateral flow test which he wasn’t happy about but did one.

As we all know lateral flow tests need to be registered especially within care homes following the guidelines and the plumber turned around and said you’re not getting my details and walked away!

Getting vaccinated is certainly a personal choice and your human right if you do not wish to be, as it was an emergency he did not need to be but ensuring people are safe and registering a lateral flow shouldn’t be a problem! There is no need to be rude and impolite!
And disregarding the government and respect of others!

The engineers are really nice and efficient.

But the customer service staff on the phone are rude and don’t seem to care. The helper was blunt and rude and couldn’t care any less whether I called them out or not.

Won’t be using them again after this repair. I feel very let down seeing as I was a returning customer this year.

Our Gas boiler became troubled, at the end of the emergency callout from the Gas board our boiler needed work. The nearest service was this company. Service engineer arrived the same day. The engineers who then ordered the parts, returned to fit and flush the system which took a good few hours due to the system design. I heard no gruffs and grones, just knowledgeable, professional, quiet careful, clean working, gentle, caring service guys who knew their job.
No fuss. The bill was as fair cost too, seemed fair to me anyway. I have a local, old style company, doing what needed. Rare today.
