Our case was handled by Hannah, and unfortunately our experience has been extremely disappointing.

We instructed BBL for a remortgage with a deadline due next week. Last week, Hannah informed us that she had never received the lender’s mortgage offer, despite previously acknowledging in May that it had been received. This significant oversight has placed our remortgage at serious risk of missing the deadline, meaning we may have to restart the process and incur additional costs.

Communication throughout has been poor, with delayed responses and little sense of urgency despite the time-sensitive nature of the transaction. Requests for further information have often come late in the process, causing further delays, and our matter has frequently been left without progress.

We submitted a formal complaint, but the response lacked accountability and did not provide any reassurance that the matter would be prioritised to meet the deadline.

Overall, this has been an extremely stressful experience. Based on our experience, I would not recommend BBL at all.

I cannot recommend Ellen highly enough. She was incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and professional throughout the entire process. From the very beginning, she kept everything simple and explained things clearly, without making anything feel overwhelming or confusing.

i have used birchall black burn in the past and never had any issues. However this time around has been awful lack of communication dragging out my sale. failing to gather and relay correct information to my self and buyer . 8 months sale dragged on for and my buyer pulled out lacked confidence. Which i have not had happen to me before. Given no guidance. No accountability taken by Reda. Rang to complain spoke to receptionist who said she would relay it to a supervisor and no one has bothered to call . Avoid this firm at all cost

The process from the initial advice i received about Financial Consent Orders through to this being approved by the court as been brilliant, everything was explained in detail to me, in words i could understand. The consent order itself was done very quickly and professionally. All in all an excellent service thank you.

Very professional from the start. HMO mortgages are never easy, especially in multi occupancy properties, but my one was handled with due care and diligence throughout. Highly recommended Solicitors which I will use again.

Dealing with Catherine Whitworth and Anne Le Blanc. Neither respond to emails or phone calls. We've had a sale going through since November which is now going to fall through due to these two ladies ignoring the selling agent, their client and the firm that referred the business to them. Appalling poor service.

Hanna and Ellie were brilliant at keeping on top of the transaction, chasing the sellers solicitor and were very forthcoming with updates on the status of the purchase. We would definately use them again!

As a first time buyer who was comfortable online and with digital portals, it was excellent. If you're someone who needs or wants a more personable or face-to-face experience, then perhaps not for you.

I wouldn't know my case handler, Reda, if I walked past him in the street, but he was solid, professional and patient, as were the team around him. Thanks for your help guys.

Really good experience using Birchall Blackburn for the sale of my rental property. I was kept well informed the whole way through, which made everything a lot easier and less stressful.
The online forms and questions are very simple to use and easy to follow, which definitely helped speed things up. They were also quicker than most solicitors I’ve dealt with in the past, which was great.
Overall, a smooth and straightforward process, would happily use them again and recommend to others.
