Tom's customer service was first class. He was helpful and informative about the construction of mattresses and suggested I try the demonstration bed to find which type of mattress was the most appropriate. He was also thorough about bed frames and headboards, material and price-range. It was all in all a fun experience. Looking forward to delivery.

Great service from the staff in the shop in Basingstoke through to the delivery. A great 5* experience which is hard to find in this day and age.

Stuart was amazing. I walked in and out within 30 minutes. He understood exactly what I was asking for, and helped me find the perfect mattress within a budget I was comfortable with. I asked about pillows and advised id just bought a tempur one. Instead of up selling me, he explained how to use it properly. I bought that at dreams and they didn't explain it.

Very helpful salesman (Tom) assisted us to find a mattress & bed that met our needs. Very relaxed without the feeling of being pushed into a sale. Prices were very reasonable and helped further with promotional discounts.

Having someone as knowledgeable about the vast range of beds as Stuart of Basingstoke Branch had, was invaluable. The store was well laid out and also having a large range of pillows is as important. We were given the time and all the queries we had were answered. Stuart was patient and knew when to offer up suggestions. A very valuable member of your staff.

A great experience. The salesperson, Maria, was exceedingly helpful with figuring out exactly what was wanted and offering solutions.

After divulging all relevant information and answering any questions, the sale was made expediently and with surprisingly fast delivery.

Would definitely recommend attending the store if your looking for a comfortable experience as you look for a new comfortable sleeping solution.

WARNING…. DO NOT PARK OUTSIDE, Benson Bed show room, as you will get a £60 fine if you stay over 30 minutes. Park in large car park.

A lovely young lady, (I have the name Maria on my receipt) served me in the Basingstoke branch, and was so helpful when I was trying to find my perfect pillow!! It arrives this week and I’m sure it will be just what I’m after.

I booked delivery and paid £95 for assembly from Bensons for Beds expecting a smooth process, but what I received was a stressful, drawn-out nightmare that caused damage to my home and put my health at risk.

The installers damaged my property in multiple ways:
* They made a deep hole in our sloped bedroom ceiling — right above the bed — which exposed asbestos. We had to leave this exposed for weeks while they dragged their feet on resolving the issue.
* They left dozens of scratches and paint damage all over my hallway, stairwell, and bedroom walls — despite the area being large and completely clear for them to work in.
* They also damaged my expensive dehumidifier.

The bed itself was poorly assembled — screws were left loose or not even halfway in, and the front bar was installed upside down, making the safety label unreadable. I had to spend over an hour fixing it, which is extremely difficult for me due to disability. Worse still, the ottoman bed handles were missing, and while they promised to send someone to fix it, they only sent the handles through the post — without the screws! I had to wait again for those and install them myself, which was painful due to the weak and shaky joints in my hands. This is exactly why I paid £95 for professional assembly, yet Bensons refused to refund the fee, claiming the bed was technically “assembled.”

They also removed the mattress packaging, leaving dirty marks on it, despite being told in-store that the plastic would be left on for hygiene reasons. I paid a premium because I wanted a new clean mattress, not a dirty one.

In-store, we were sold a full encasement mattress protector, which turned out to be a standard fitted one. We didn’t open it, but the branch still refused a return, blaming a lack of hygiene seal — even though they don’t supply one!

Customer service has been appalling. The store ignored my emails (which they opened but never replied to), and were dismissive on the phone. Bensons' central helpline was no better — they told me I had to sort things out myself with the delivery company. As a business owner myself, I’d never treat customers this way.

In the end, I had to spend 20+ hours chasing down a partial reimbursement for the damage, which only covered a fraction of the cost. The entire experience has been stressful, exhausting, and absolutely not worth the money.

On top of the customer care being appalling, the £849 mattress started forming horrible lumps within 3 months, I resent sleeping on it.

Avoid this company unless you want damage to your home, poor assembly, poor sleep and zero accountability.

We visited the store on 2 occasions within 2 days of each other. We are trying to move house and wanted to ensure what we bought would fit in. On both occasions we dealt with Tom, who was courteous and talked us through the options available to us. We can certainly recommend Bensons For Beds.
