I wanted to share my recent experience with Bed Bath & Beyond.
I ordered a 14 x 23 feather lumbar pillow insert for $20. Unfortunately, it did not have the fullness I expected. When I attempted to return it, I was told I needed to use their return label—and that the cost of that label would be over $23, which is more than the item itself.
This effectively makes the item non-returnable, despite being advertised as returnable.
I also paid for 2-day expedited shipping, which took 5 days to arrive (that charge was eventually refunded after I contacted them).
I later found return instructions and an address in my order details, but this was not clearly provided when I initially requested help.
I do not feel it is reasonable for a customer to be charged more to return an item than the item itself costs, and I would expect Bed Bath & Beyond to review this situation and provide a fair resolution.
What am I Supposed to Do?
I haven't used this app in a long time, but all I wanted to do was order 2 chaise lounge chairs. The ad said they were on sale and they came in 2's or 4's. I clicked on the 2. The price was $169, so I clicked on "Checkout". Suddenly the price was $469. What??? I tried several times with the same result. Then pop-ups would appear saying "only 7 left" or "only 2 left". What am I supposed to do?

Would give 0 stars. Placed an expensive order but made a mistake on shipping address. One and a half hours later I reached out to customer service to correct the address or cancel the order. And they couldn’t do either. The item is back ordered!!! It was not shipped, or processed, or label created, or anything.
So I have an expensive rug I paid for going halfway across the country to a house I sold six years ago. And Bed Bath will do nothing!!!
I will never spend a penny at this messed up company again.

I can see I am not alone
I can see I am not alone in my estimation of how BB&B has fallen. I bought a dresser in October with Angi to assemble. It was $425. ($340 dresser) Dresser arrived, Angi assembled and the man said there is a big crack down the center. Call them, get a new top and he showed me how to install. I called them from work. 1.5 hours on the phone to get someone who told me to send pictures which I did. I got an email response back that they could not ship one part and would give me $25 dollars off. I said its cracked in half. I need a new part. She said I could return it and once received they will ship out a new dresser. I said the guy you sent assembled it. its on the 2nd floor and I do not have a box. Its over $100 lbs. I would have to disassemble this myself and carry it down piece by piece, find a box, somehow get it to the Post office and it is going to cost a fortune. It's not worth it. She said we will give you $100 store credit. I said it is cracked! She said all you can do is return it and stopped speaking with me. I went to Amex and put in a dispute. After a month Amex said there is nothing they can do because BB&B sent them the return policy. I said they never sent it to me! They never mentioned it to me. Amex sent it and I read it. You have 30 days (that ship has sailed) and you can return it and if they deem it damaged they will refund the return. Meanwhile, I priced it out and the return was $470! As if they are going to refund me $470 and the cost of the dresser. Meanwhile, it said at our discretion we can mail the item to you before you return it. They NEVER offered that. The truth is, they know a piece of furniture will cost more to return then the actual cost of it and they know people are NEVER going to trust them to refund them more than the actual item. I wrote back to them after the dispute, but now they can't be bothered to even respond. So I have this piece of garbage in my bedroom because I cannot afford to buy another dresser. Eventually they will get what they deserve and go under because they have no integrity.

I’ll never buy anything from BB&B again!! My purchase is going in the trash, frickin’ SLEAZEBAGS. This stool has one end jutting out 3 inches beyond the base with no support, making it very unstable and easily tipping over. WOULD YOU SIT ON THIS “portable camping stool” PIECE OF CRAP?? 2,000 reviews on TrustPilot with a rating of 1.1 stars, so 91% of customers gave BB&B a one-star rating. I’d love to know how they came up with 62% recommending their greedy business practices. “Beyond requires the use of our provided return label for all product returns to ensure a refund or replacement. With many return warehouses nationwide, using a different label may result in your item being lost or unidentifiable, preventing return tracking and the completion of your return.” Despicable company.

False and misleading descriptions…
I ordered what was advertised as a 2 piece living room table set.
A coffee table and a side table.
Got the side table, waited for a week for 2nd table then started emailing texting and finally called.
They state that you have to b prefer each of the 2 pieces separately for over double the cost advertised. I finally got a free return label for the small table, but it cost 60 for ups to box it up. Terrible customer service and in my opinion false advertising.

I placed an order with Bed Bath & Beyond and received a package that was severely damaged upon arrival. The exterior box was visibly crushed, and upon opening it, the contents were completely disheveled -- directions were crumpled, screws were already opened, and pieces were thrown throughout the box. The product clearly was not packaged with reasonable care.
I contacted the company to request a refund due to the damaged condition of the shipment. I was told that in order to receive a refund, I would need to pay $122 in return shipping costs, which would be deducted from my refund. I was not offered a prepaid return label or any accommodation for the fact that the item arrived in an unacceptable condition through no fault of my own.
Requiring a customer to absorb return shipping costs for a damaged or defective shipment is unreasonable and poor business practice. I am requesting a full refund with a prepaid return label provided by the company, or a full refund without any deductions.
towels
I purchased towels. The description states espresso which is a dark brown. The photo showed a dark brown. The towels I received are dark grey. When I tried to return them they want to charge me return shipping. I have wasted almost an hour trying to get thru to them via chat and phone only for them to have the nerve to say these grey towels (they had me send them a photo) are correct and won’t pay for the shipping back to them. I use to shop in the BB&B stores frequently. The last 2 times I ordered online have been a disaster. I will not be purchasing from them anymore.
Also while in a chat online they disconnected me numerous times and when I called they did the same thing. They figure if you get frustrated enough you’ll go away.

am seriously upset with Bed Bath & Beyond. I have done some redoing of things and have ordered quite a bit from them. Most of which I was satisfied with. But I had to return some things twice. The first was for an amount of $49 and change the second was for $90 and change. When I hadn't seen either in my bank account I called them and I was told the first for $49 would be in my account Today which it wasn't. I even got an email from "Justin" stating they released the funds and would be in my account today. So I called again. I was told that since I ordered the item but cancelled it within minutes they just applied the charge then was able to reverse the charge so it was a wash. I totally get that. My question regarding that one though, is why did I get the email stating a refund went to my bank account. Now, for the $90. The woman I spoke with "Makenzie" stated that instead of a refund they applied it to a store credit which is something I never do. I wanted the refund sent by the same method it was paid but they did a store credit. Now, she stated that they can't turn that around and issue the refund to me. Which we all know is shear B.S. Anything can be done. She checked with the "manager" and the manager said they could not talk to me they were too busy. But when they got to it she or someone would call me. I asked about how long that would take and McKenzie said they have about 30 claims before mine so they are busy and it could take awhile. As far as I'm concerned they are holding my refund hostage instead of doing the right thing. So I am warning you all the BED BATH N BEYOND is very sketchy . When the order goes in they take the money immediately even before the item is sent. But try and get it back is another story.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I attempted to cancel an order less than 24 hours after I realized that I would not be able to use it. 3 days later I receive a notification that my order has already been processed & couldn't be canceled. Now I'm attempting to return the order & it's going to cost MORE to send it back!?! They trap customers into paying even if they aren't satisfied! I wish I could boast about the quality of the items but the lack of customer service overshadows my shopping experience.

UPDATE: I went through the Better Business Bureau. Beyond.com responded to them and finally issued me a refund. I would still give 0 stars.

Do NOT buy from Bed Bath & Beyond! They shipped a bed that did NOT have all the parts. I purchased the installation as well. Teh person came, could not put it together and they will NOT refund those services that were not used (at NO fault of mine!).
It's also taken me over two weeks just to get to a point to return the boxes...and I'm still not there! The product isn't non-refundable, so why am I having to jump through the hoops to return something that cannot even be put together!!

This company became a joke. I ordered end table. It was supposed to be delivered in a week. The day of delivery I received a message stating it was delayed. Then days passed.
I want to their website and shows still processing day after day. When I called she asked me if I want to cancel or wait for another 30 days. She couldn’t provide any explanation what is going on.
So disappointing and I cancelled.
