Awful.
My partner thought we should try to support a local shop as musicians, so we bought a Beat-Root heal and toe stomp box for our duo. He's a producer and has built many things for his studio, the man knows his stuff. The stomp box was £65 and offered snare and bass, so we went for this since we were trying to give our duo a bigger sound. From the off, the snare just didn't work properly and the bass would often clip and make horrible clicking sounds. We have tried different cables, different subs, speakers and even different stomp boxes with our usual sub (which have worked fine in comparison). This stomp box is not good. Finally, my partner had enough and opened it up to see if he could improve it. What we saw inside is laughable. The wires are held to the board with DUCT TAPE. IN AN INSTRUMENT THAT YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO STOMP ON. Not only that but upon removing the duct tape to see the wires underneath, they were all clammed together and not even soldered... It's honestly ridiculous. I would add the photos if I could on here but it doesn't give me the option. Unfortunately my partner didn't return it when he first got it, thinking over time he'd find the right combination to make this stomp box sound good, but I wish he'd opened it up to start with so we could see immediately what shoddy awful work this is. Our friend's 10 year old self made block of wood stomp box works better and cost about £7 to make. So much for supporting a small local business, what a shame!
