I contacted Clerksroom Direct Barristers regarding a family matter with just 3 working days before the hearing.
I spoke to Charlie as my initial point of contact, who qualified my needs and gave clear qualification of what the quotes did, and did not include. He guided me though the booking process concisely, and answered every query I had.
Dee (Deirdre) was exceptional in every way. She gave far more than our contracted arrangement, rewriting the definition of "over and above". She spoke with me for over 3 hours on a bank holiday before the hearing. She was thorough, professional, and without a doubt the best ally I could have dreamt of, obtained a progression in the proceeding that I had almost lost hope for.
Nicky was a tremendous support, and was always there to answer any of those questions I had forgotten to ask, while ensuring I was kept informed.
Post hearing, with Nicky on leave, Adam was able to seamlessly continue her work with me.
The value I got from this service was completely unexpected, and I am humbled by the manner and generosity of everyone involved in my experience. My personal and heartfelt thanks to each and everyone I encountered.

After trying many other places I finally found Clerksroom, a much better service compared to big or small firms.

I agree with the others. Only one star. A lot of money lost and I ended up doing it myself. I followed the Professional Standards Complaints Procedure for Clerksroom Direct and Barrister Group, for the same reasons. Inevitably,it was not upheld. It is an internal investigation. Whilst they referred me to the Ombudsman this Company is not regulated by any Ombudsman at all. They are brokers. They sit on messages to the barristers then will hold you to ransom for more money, at the last minute. Go direct to Bar Council to find a genuine legal representative. I wish I had looked at the single star reviews first and would never have contacted them. Steer well clear.

I paid to Clerk Room Direct £1170 and was almost mislead by Clerk Rory Nunn .Please do NOT use this service as Legal ombudsman says Clerk Room is not registered there. I was also given the name of Nick Wright a Barrister whom I was allegedly paying for .Transpires he is part of this dodgy companies process. Please DO not use these scammers . I will contact with police soon about these mislead process. Please use the Bar standard councils own direct access barrister site . Other google reviews have pointed out dodgy experiences.

Having never used a barrister before I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, Samantha was very quick to contact me and get up to speed with a complex CMS tribunal appeal hearing, dating back 8 years. There was a huge amount of information to wade through and she managed to cut through it all and offer some really helpful advice to me as the ‘paying parent’. The outcome was a success and it was money well spent in my opinion. I would certainly recommend Samantha and Clerksroom to anyone who facing legal proceedings. The whole process was conducted by a professional team. Ian Skeate and his team delivered a professional and caring service. The opponent was a high powered KC but Mr Skeate equalled him and it was due to his attention to detail that produced a judgement in our favour. We cannot recommend them enough.

I have used Clerksroom twice and both times been completely satisfied with the service provided by Sam Morgan. He booked Andew McKie, who provided exactly what I needed the first time and, when I needed help again at short notice and Andrew was unavailable, Sam worked over the weekend to find someone for me. That someone was Barry Cawsey, who stepped in at the last moment and was marvellous. The pricing is clear and transparent and the service is excellent, so if you are litigating or thinking of doing so, I would say you can stop looking now and just call them.

I must have been the unlucky one here.
I paid £360, for a barrister to give advice. This person did not read any of the documentation I sent before the call, instead reading it off the cuff during the call. As a result, the barrister had no real grasp of the issues, prior to the call, as I expected. I didn’t appreciate this at all. The casual attitude to situations that are life and death to us ‘normal’ people does sometimes not penetrate the cold, clinical and often offhand attitude of barristers. They are like the surgeons of the legal system and sometimes extremely insensitive. They also seem to share a similar God complex.
I have experienced two, who have not given the best advice and have been entirely negative about everything. If they don’t know something, they will not spend time finding out, because time is money. What’s the point in having all these great laws if access to them is so limited?
I think it is very unprofessional and impolite to arrive on a call, not having read the material. I am on Universal Credit and this was an important call and an investment for me. For the barrister in question, it was a quick twenty minutes, some more cash in the bank, and a casual grasp of the law as it concerned my issues.
As I said, perhaps I was just unlucky.
