Alpaca Expeditions Arvostelua 

I went on the Alpaca Tours Salkantay Trek.

Having visited over 50 countries and taken at least as many tours, I can say that this is one of the best. The tour lives up to every expectation. While it is admittedly a bit more expensive than those offered by competitors, it is well worth the cost. With Alpaca Tours, your money goes to a Peruvian company that helps strengthen impoverished areas around Cusco. The food on the tour was also excellent; very few participants fell ill. In contrast, we heard that in some of the competing groups, everyone suffered from stomach issues during the trip. I also want to give special recognition to our guides, Cesar and Wilbert, who did a phenomenal job!

Cesar and Wilber were the most amazing guides! I have never done a guided experience before and wasn’t sure how I would like it, but after doing the Salkantay Trek with Alpaca Expeditions, I wouldn’t have done it any other way. There is so much history, culture, and context about Peru and the Incas that I would have missed out on if I did this trek on my own. By the end of 4 days, I developed such a bond with Cesar, Wilber, and the other people in our group. I am so grateful for this experience, it was a very rewarding way to experience Peru and Machu Picchu, and I would recommend Alpaca Expeditions to anyone visiting Cusco!

Cesar, Wilbur, Segundo, Noemi, German, and the entire team were phenomenal! Cesar & Wilbur were our guides and they were both very friendly and very funny. We chose Alpaca because they prioritize working with the local indigenous community and families and we could see this was evident on a personal level. If we ever come back to Peru, we will only trek with Alpaca Expeditions!

The Inca trail was an incredible experience. It is a challenging hike and the team made the experience world class. Our guides Saul G and Humberto were very knowledgeable about the sites and local flora and fauna, organised and helpful - definitely recommend a tour with them

We had such a great Salkantay trek! Yes, it was exhausting but that’s to expect on such a hiking trip! Our kids (10 & 13) enjoyed it too!
Ceasar and Hans were great guides! Always in excellent mood, funny and helpful. Their English is really good! The cooks were fabulous, exceeding expectations every night! Not an easy thing out there!
The porters carried our luggage reliably to every spot!
And Javier gave us very interesting information on Machu Pichu!

This Trek was incredible, thanks to Alpaca Expeditions, the tour guides, the entire team of cooks, and porters. What a wonderful experience, with memories that will last a lifetime! The guides of our trip- Cesar and Hans - were phenomenal. They were experienced, professional and very helpful in every possible way. They were the ones we were with the whole time and they were the ones that make or break the trip. Everything offered by alpaca was amazing- they were very accommodating and we felt safe the whole time. Would recommend updating the map on the website to accurately depict the hike hours / miles as we didn’t find it accurate.

Guides Cesar and Hans were incredible! Super helpful and knowledgeable about the culture, flora, and fauna. Went above and beyond to make our trek as smooth and fun as possible!

We had the most fantastic Machu Picchu trek with Alpaca Expeditions 7th.-10th. of July. Everything was well planned and organised - very professionel. Saul G and Humberto, our guides got an extraordinary overview, and we felt safe and was highly informed of the Inka history. A very good match! Eventhough we couldn’t eat much, Alpaca Expeditions chef team treated us 3 times daily with local delicious food. It’s amazing what they can produce under these circumstances. All this could not happen without the strong porter team. All in all - our best trek and we can highly recommend it.

Javier was an amazing guide. He made sure the group was safe every step of the way. He gave context to all the Inca sites and made our trek very interesting. His English is perfect. Walter our second guide wa shush as helpful. I run group adventure tours and I will book again next year for salkantay and will request Javier and Walter 100%! Thank you alpaca!

The chef made the best food we had in Peru, our guide Elisban was a welcoming, experienced and entertaining guide and Yadina a lovely support! Thanks to all the sturdy and always smiling porter of the green machine we had a memorable experience at the 4D3N Inka Trail Trek!

10/10!!! Wow. The food, the porters, the chef, the tour guides. Everyone is incredible. I cannot recommend Juan Carlos huillca sayritupa & jhojan enough. They are so kind and led us through and incredible tour. So educational and phenomenal experience. !!!!

We had a really great trek together with Alpaca. Our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and organised and gave us the best experience. The route of the Salkantay trek had many exciting parts to it and cool accommodation spots. A nice part about Alpaca is that they have local guides and workers, and support the local communities. I highly recommend to book tours through them.

The whole trek was well organized. Our main guide, Cesar was fantastico. He was funny. And he was also very helpful and informative. The chefs cooked some really good meals each day, especially day 4 lunch. The assistant guide Joel was also great and very nice. Both Cesar and Joel spoke good English. The trek was difficult and challenging but the views and the experience were worth it. And Cesar and Joel kept us motivated!

It was a great experience. The guides Casar and Joel were great. They were very knowledgable and I always felt safe. Food was delicious and very organized and always on time.
