almo nature HFC urinary help dry cat food production lot potentially with mold
i purchased 2 bags of almo nature HFC urinary help dry cat food from zooplus. EXP. 30/11/2027 LOTTO: 58858C9 AUT IT000007TR-ABP2159PETPR3 12:57
this is not the first time i buy this product, however my elder cat with urinary issues, for some reason did not particularly care for the food this time..when in the past she was very fond of it.. i had put some of contents into a class jar with hermetic closure, and the balance remained in the original bag, closed securely with the bags ziplock closure. after a couple of weeks, i started to notice many of the nuggets were turning white, both in the glass container as well as the bag. i immediately suspended use of the product, and contacted zooplus, with photos illustrating the problem. they refunded me immediately. i then in turn opened the second bag from the same production lot, and found the same white nuggets that appear to be mold, inside this package as well. once again zooplus immediately refunded me. i sent a message directly to almo nature through their portal to report this issue, which can result in grave damage to the health of my cat as well as anyone elses. i advised them that i had conserved both packages if they would like to retrieve them for their inspection, to have a better understanding of what occurred.. unfortunately, as with many large conglomerates, they have not replied.. this is most upsetting given the nature of the issue and the possible damages it could cause.. i would think they would be interested in recalling this production lot if the issue is indeed mold growth, especially in view of the fact that it is a product designed for cats with specific dietary needs...
