Disgusting customer service- Milked like cattle for money
An absolute vile demonstration on how to look after customers who have payed hundreds!!!
I had to go outside to take a call for 2 minutes as it was so loud inside. I’d left a few hours earlier for a different call and was let back in with no problem. On the second occasion I was so rudely dismissed by the doormen. I had just spent hundreds on dinner and drinks. When I showed them photographic proof of being at my table (where my coat was) moments earlier they couldn’t care less.
An absolutely disgraceful display on how to look after your guests who have proof of just being inside. This arrogant lack of professionalism by your door staff makes you feel like cattle that are just being milked for money…

Was due at a gig next door (Albert Hall); and was in a rush to eat and have a drink, for a Wednesday night, it was packed at 18:30hrs! No table available, so I said I was very happy to eat at the bar.
Bar staff were brilliant and told me I could sit as an empty 'beer drinking' table right behind me. So that was great as I have a dodgy knee!
The atmosphere was brilliant, food excellent and the Erdinger, well Prost!
Bullying Bouncer
What would’ve been a fun night in Manchester was swiftly ruined by the bouncer who took a grievance to a member of our party dancing on one particular table; who was simply following the behaviour of other Customers on adjacent tables.
Apparently, certain tables are permitted for enjoyment and others not, but this is not made clear to the clientele.
Despite the colleague being most agreeable and apologetic, they were singled out and given quite the dressing down which seemed most unnecessary considering their willingness to obtain their items and depart without resistance.
May we recommend some clear signage and more appropriate instruction from the staff, as opposed to this clear desire for inadequate men to be permitted to lord their authority over women and destroy the perfectly pleasant ambiance of a gathering of friends and coworkers.
We welcome your apology.
Great atmosphere, great lively place
Great atmosphere, very lively with excellent friendly and efficient staff in the heart of Liverpool's vibrant and now rather classy city centre. Afternoons are more sedate and relaxed - no music, more for drinking and dining in a large, open plan environment. I can't review the evenings as not been then but from the web site, I'd say it is more than a little lively so caters for everybody. Prices for food and drink are what you'd expect from a bar in a prime city centre location.
I responded to an advertisement seeking…
I responded to an advertisement seeking tech personnel for the new store in London. I had a phone interview with Kevin, the tech manager, who confirmed that everything was on track. On May 21st, he emailed me, promising an availability schedule by the next day. I organized my calendar accordingly for the soft launch week and subsequent opening weeks. Then, communication abruptly stopped. My phone calls, emails, and texts were all ignored. This behavior was not only discourteous but also unprofessional and disappointing.
I was manhandled and escorted…
I was manhandled and escorted aggressively in Birmingham just because of the way I reacted to someone pushing my coat on the floor and taking my stool. Apparently it is acceptable for someone to do that and not acceptable for me to question it. I tried to reason with them and gave them every chance to apologise but the level of arrogance was shocking. At the age of 52 I do not go out causing trouble but this establishment knows how to provoke trouble. I will never return.
AVOID UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF
If you wish to get ripped off and treated like a child in Liverpool go here - just looked at statement and double charged this place is one of the most expensive in Liverpool - i said to the bar tender it had tapped twice he said it hadn't -also the creepy arrogant door staff are very arrogant and rude no SIA license on display. Made my wife and I wait even though place was obviously empty and were openly staring at my wife. AVOID -GO THE IVY and get treated with respect. There are much better places to go in Lpool than this place.
London - Soho Brunch
Went for a Bottomless Brunch, would not rush back anytime soon. The only good thing was the entertainment. The food was OK but nothing special.
The drinks service was awful, we was having to chase our round of drinks after waiting a good 20 minutes each time, not really the bottomless experience you want. Take this into consideration when booking here as it did ruin the experience, especially as it was our friends 18th Birthday Brunch.
Comida y música genial.
La comida fue genial y el servicio excelente. Además la música en vivo en Birmingham estaba muy bien cuidada. Seguro repetiré.
Went to the Birmingham restaurant…
Went to the Birmingham restaurant 10/10/25 for my wifes' Birthday. Our server, Telma, was outstanding and made us feel special and welcome. She went out of her way to make my wife feel really special for her Birthday and I really appreciated that. We had the sharing platter and the food was outstanding. Perfectly cooked and really tasty. Telma was asking my wife what she like and on that basis recommended a cocktail which my wife really enjoyed. Would heartily recommend and we will be back.
Manchester Chaos
Birthday party celebrations at Albert Schloss Manchester, not a good experience.
What started out in good spirits with a great atmosphere and decent food it is somewhat tinged with real frustration in the end.
As a party of 12, We arrived at 7.15 as requested and waited to be seated and unfortunately (unknown to us at the time) it was terrible location to have a full meal setting, we were seated very close to the stage and at first was brilliant with everyone joining in. Our starters arrived around 8.30 and from there on it became increasingly more difficult, and could have easily got very serious.
Long queues outside lead to people getting in to the venue and rushing to the bars and stage area and were obviously wanting to be as close to the stage as possible, and I assume to them we were in the way. It got to the point where people were squeezing between us whilst we were eating to dance on the benches, and could have erupted at any time.
This was further impacted by our deserts not arriving until after 9.45 when it was impossible then to carry on. Whilst a couple of our party asked for takeaways the rest just left there's, as it was getting very uncomfortable, and on more than a couple of occasions had to get members of staff to assist as some of our party were starting to get concerned over the reaction of some people to us being "in the way".
It was a real shame it ended like it did for most of the party it was a first visit and left people not wanting to return, and was solely down to where we were located. No problems with waiting for the courses IF we had been sat in a different location, as trying to eat food and drinks we paid in excess of £700 for whilst everyone else around us was just wanting to party wasn't an overall good experience, beware the final bill included 10% service charge.
I spoke to the duty manager to try and get some reasoning as to why we were sat next to the stage and was asked to email may concerns.
Nearly a week later no reply not even a courtesy reply to say we will get back to you !!!
Obviously they are not interested they have their money, will not be visiting Albert Schloss Manchester anytime soon.
Made our Birmingham trip a pleasure
Visiting Birmingham for a live comedian at the nearby Town Hall, and popped in for a quick lunch while waiting to check-in at nearby hotel. Had recently been on holiday in Germany, so to continue the theme this place looked like a fair bet. Reasonably busy, but managed to get a nice little booth table near the entrance. I had the Cook Haus Burger, while wife had the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel. Both were sizeable portions, well presented, and tasted great. Burger was nicely cooked and while substantial I was still able to get my mouth around it; a lot of modern ‘stack’ burgers this isn’t the case. Truffle fries with the schnitzel were a nice variant, and the basic fries were good as well. The main highlight of the visit though, was not the food: it was our server Reece. He was friendly, professional and we felt well looked after. He was able to tell us a little about the history of the restaurant, as well as the Town Hall we would be visiting later. He was attentive, but not overbearing, and made us very welcome. He explained that the tone of the venue changed throughout the day, there would be live music later, and that they did breakfast as well. Stuffed as we were after lunch we couldn’t manage to fit in a desert, but said we’d try and make it back after the show (and before the second late show), to fit one in. So that’s what we did: we came back late evening, just as early rush finished, and managed to get in at the same table for a quick drink and desert. I had apple strudel and wife had sticky toffee pudding, though we did share. While the strudel was good, the toffee pudding was standout, so I finished off the bit she couldn’t manage. Reece had obviously finished for the day, but our second server, Sebastian—while too busy to chat in the same way—was equally as pleasant, as was every other member of staff we dealt with. Live band was really tight and sounded great. We couldn’t see, as our ‘regular’ booth was around the corner from the stage, but the crowd certainly seemed to enjoy it too. We resolved to come back for breakfast the next day, having had such a good service both times. Next morning, as the door opened, we were there for a Cook Haus and Veggie Cook Haus breakfast. We only just managed to eat both, as not small portions, and they set us up for the rest of the day. Server that morning was Reece again, who remembered us, asked how the gig was, and was as friendly and warm as the day before. Could not fault him, the rest of the staff, and the food. Great atmosphere, food and staff. Made the weekend.
Insensitive handling of large events
It pains me to write this as this had previously been one of my all-time favourite venues. However, I made the mistake of choosing this venue (Birmingham) for a large group booking, and had problem after problem.
Firstly, by making an enquiry on the website, your enquiry isn't responded to in words but by sending a an automated request for a deposit. You have 24 hours to make the payment, after which you lose your booking. I didn't realise this, as it doesn't say this is the expectation when you submit a simple enquiry- so I missed the payment window. I asked for a second chance to pay the deposit and this time was only given 3 hours to pay, from an email sent in the middle of the working day. It was only by luck that I caught it in time, and the general tone made me feel that they didn't really want my business - I wish I had acted on my gut at this point, and gone elsewhere. Once that was booked, I received confusing and drip-fed information about needing to make an £800 minimum spend, which turned into an £800 deposit, which turned into an £800 pre-order, but I sorted this in the end.
The party was for my sister, who is seriously ill. This 40th birthday party may, unfortunately, be her last 'big' birthday so I really wanted to make it special. I thus hired Ludwig's Tavern for a surprise party for her.
On the day, the staff would not let the guests into Ludwig's tavern a few minutes early to hide, despite there being no booking on in the area at the time. This ruined the surprise, as my sister saw all the guests milling about in the entrance, which was rather disappointing.
The one saving grace was the barman assigned to Ludwig's Tavern, who was absolutely lovely and worked hard in rather limited circumstances (e.g. he hadn't been provided enough champagne glasses for the toast, but he found ways around this). I am very glad he was there as he saved the day in many respects.
We had the space booked out until 6pm, but at 5pm the rope separating the area disappeared and random people started entering the space and I had to kick them out, which wasn't a very nice vibe when I'm trying to enjoy this poignant family party. Where were the staff? Why was I having to do this myself? Why were the staff so adamant about not letting us have the space 5 minutes early, but happy to let us lose the space an hour early?
Not only was I unimpressed by the above, but so were many of my guests - many of whom had never been here before and have now left with a very bad impression of Albert's Schloss.
I filled in feedback but got a pretty generic response that didn’t really give me the impression they cared all that much. I wish to note I am not just complaining for gain: I didn't once ask for freebies or refunds, even though I feel it would be appropriate in this circumstance and might have been a nice token gesture at least. I am just very disappointed by this shift as previously, the service has been excellent.
Over the years I have probably brought in thousands of pounds of business to this venue, both from my own spend and using it as the venue for work events. This experience has very much put me off doing so in the future. I would certainly not recommend this venue for anyone planning a large event.
Some very unpleasant customers
My husband and I were there last night. We were having a lovely time. A absolutely beautiful young lady served us. I was upset to see her being bullied by a customer. This person was saying she hadn’t prepared their drink when she had, and continued to abuse her. We believed that this was racial harassment because the girl serving looked young, and of Indian descent. I know it’s no one’s fault this happened, but this should be taken into account if customers just simply want to make trouble and imagine that this appalling behaviour will be either overlooked or minimised.
physically abusive towards women
Absolutely disgusting behavior from the staff here (pictures attached). The doormen physically attacked me, pushing me onto cars and into the road, all while targeting me for simply being a pretty ethnic woman. Attacked with such force my shoe broke. When I tried to report it, the managers defended their behavior and fabricated lies and excuses instead of holding them accountable. This place clearly has no respect for women’s safety. Avoid at all costs if you value your well-being. Very scatty and cheap and better places to go in this world.
AWFUL
AWFUL! I ordered the egg, bacon, and syrup pancakes, and they were terrible. The pancakes were cold and tasted like store-bought. They were definitely not freshly made. The egg was nice, but it only came with one slice of bacon. My friend ordered the berry pancakes, and hers was also cold. She also got the avocado and egg on toast, which was the size of my palm—more like a starter than a brunch. The bill took a long time to get to us, despite the restaurant not being busy, as it was early hours. Even though they were fully staffed, the service was slow and the server was chewing gum very unhygienic and not professional at all! I don't normally write reviews, but this has got to be the worst brunch I have ever had. Definitely do not recommend.
In A.S Manchester
In A.S. Manch aester on Christmas eve at 4.30pm with family for celebration. Bar service was poor no enjoyment showed by bar staff and it wasnt busy and no acknowledgment present at all for those waiting to be served. If this was my business I would have peoples who attended these venues and watched for themselves how their staff operated. Suffice to say will not go there again.
Crap service
Crap service, I would never ever recommend or use their event ever again
Terrible bouncer
Asked them to call police as my friend was SA but was laughed at!
Awful bouncer’s falsely accusing people…
Awful bouncer’s falsely accusing people of wrongdoing with no evidence. Shocking people throughout and especially the staff within the fomplex
