over priced jewelry
The gentleman/ shop staff n gave me a price in AED I did not understand the price so i asked for a conversion in GBP (UK currency|) he tapped the calculator and told me 80 pounds so I agreed to buy it we were assured by the local guide and even on the boat that there was no crime in Dubai so I was confident to do use my card
I did not have internet so I could not check so I took his word for it When I got back to the UK I checked my bank balance and I noted that the shop had charged my account £360.66 without my consent I was so shocked that this can happen in Dubai I informed my bank and they said to file a criminal complaint to the police I googled and did a review check on the shop and I was surprised and shocked to see that this is not the first time this shop has misbehaved They are robbing tourist left and right they are hundreds of complaints of terrible experiences of theft by this shop I want this matter investigated I did not understand why 80 pounds can turn into 360 pounds . for a few items of tea dates and chocolate, they are the most expensive items ever bought even Harrods in the UK will not charge that amount
They used my misunderstanding of the currency to steal from me I want this matter addressed and a write of redress .
I had a nice time in |Dubai but the theft has left a very different view of how I view your country.
If you sell me an item and you give me a value. I’m not an expert in metals I took your word for it I had no reason not to.
But. On return to the uk repeated upraises of the same metal. We purchased. From you shows a significant gap in value. Which for me indicates one thing. We were tourist. In your country / city for 24 hours and you took advantage of us for that reason I will never purchase metals in any Arab country. Because. I have no faith in you or any. Outside shops in your country
