Great Experience Start to Finish
Ordered a Seiko mod Daytona a few weeks ago from Wristmodding. The experience was great from start to finish. I texted a couple of times via WhatsApp and got fast responses (even during the weekend). The watch was prepared over a couple of days and shipped. It took about two and a half weeks to arrive. The watch looks even better in person! It was packaged safely. I am looking through their great choices to order another. 🙂

Good looking, quality and nice customer service
Ordered 3 modified watches. They were shipped real quick and I receieved them as ordered. The watches are really good looking and seems of excellent build quality. One of the straps (in leather) are a bit too short for my wrist, but customer service rapidly replied sending me another strap. Looking forward to receive it. Will definitely consider buying another watch here later.

Lack of quality control and terrible costumer service
Vary bad experience with the costumer service after I posted them privately this review.
Few lines as a feedback regarding my order, a seiko mod of the Explorer II.
The dial: it is quite good. The « O » of the SEIKO lettering is less bold than the other letters of « SEIKO » but it’s not that bothering. The main reason for me to buy this mod was to check if I’m OK to wear a white dial watch (and that I’m a huge fan of the explorer II). The cyclops lens is well executed with good magnifying ratio. The lume is green and if it’s not the brightest nor the most long lasting one, it does the job correctly.
The movement : nothing to say, it’s the well known NH34. I’m wondering when SEIKO will update it especially to make the date change quickly instead of the slow sweep that begin around 23h and finish after 01 the next day. But we know it when we buy NH34 based watch.
The bracelet : I chose the Oyster type. I’ve got to say that the bracelet is extremely bad. Links are poorly adjusted, some of links screws are just floating around (one of them felt down). Hopefully I had to adjust the bracelet to my wrist size so I removed some links including the one with the bad screw. Due to the poor link adjustment, the bracelet is noisy when your hand moves. I mean it’s really noisy, like an old grandma covered with jewelry. My next move will be to buy a nato bracelet to replace this (terrible) oyster bracelet.
The finishing : none of the edges are polished or have a small bezel to make them a bit smoother. Considering the price, it makes sense. I mean I did not expect that level of finishing. That being said, I expected the polishing of the case to be uniform. That is not the case. The polishing of the lugs is really bad and looks more like rough scratches than a polish.
The shipping : I chose the express shipping with FEDEX (+30€). It was fast indeed. BUT, I had to pay import fees as the watch has been shipped from Hong Kong. I chose WristModding.com because it was based in Spain, so 1- I would not have to pay import fees or VAT and 2- it was a garantee to me that the watch was assembled (at least) in Spain… Now I’m a bit upset.
What about the import fees and what it means about the value of the watch ?
I had to pay 10€ as import fee which means to me considering import taxes in France (20%) the value of the watch as declared by the sender is about 50€ which is consistent with the price of some other Chinese watch brands such as Addiesdive watch. It taste a bit like a drop shipping process.
Overall experience : This watch is my first Seiko-mod and if the design and the dial are good I’m a bit disappointed by the global quality. Given the price I did not expect a premium product but the bracelet quality and the polishing are below my expectations. I’m a bit of a watch enthusiast and I own few watches including Breitling, Omega, Yema, Seiko... but also from micro brands such as Lorier or Steinhart. Most of the time the price will give you an idea of the finishing but in my opinion the price tag here is not justified considering the dropshipping-like process and the overall quality of the watch.
I hope you’ll use this comment to improve your processes as I’m sure SEIKO-mod could be a very cool way to bring some of the coolest design to a lot of people and contribute to the watch market in many ways.

I am writing to address the concerns you raised as I was the one handling your case.
1 Firstly, I must express my dismay at the patronizing and offensive tone of your emails. In my three years with the company, I have never encountered such behavior.
2 We would have replaced your entire watch without hesitation if it indeed had finishing issues, as we have done for all customers who experience any sort of problem with our watches.
However, we will not accept abusive and offensive communication, and reserve the right to serve only customers who treat us with respect.
3 We clearly state that we ship and make watches from our team of watchmakers in Singapore, Barcelona, and Hong Kong. We have never claimed to ship exclusively from Spain. In fact, we always refund import fees, as we offered to do in your case, which you conveniently omitted.
4 We under-declare the value of our packages for European customers to help avoid excessive charges. You are always free to correct the customs clearance process with your own payment confirmation and be charged the full amount if you prefer.
5 Your claim that it cost us 50 Euros to make our watches is both offensive and ignorant. Comparing us to a Chinese brand factory with unknown components is random, unjust, and racist.
Our watches are handmade by our individual watchmaker in Hong Kong, which is just a different country, with different labor costs, rather than some brand factory in China which you mention. The xenophobic undertones in your review and the emails you sent us are deeply concerning, and your insistance with mixing anyhting made in a Chinese factory, with a product hand-made and delivered from HK, another country, just despicable.
6 If you had any issues with Hong Kong, you could have requested to have your watch shipped from Singapore or Barcelona. However, you chose not to be informed about where we manufacture our watches and then blamed us for it, and you try to make it appear as if we in some way hide this.
We're very proud of having such a wide network of watchmakers as it has allowed us to grow exponentially, to deliver to literally all continents, and imrpove the quality of our products, and it is stated in THE FIRST lines of our about us page.
7 You have misused the term "drop-shipping," showing a purposeful lack of understanding of our company. Wristmodding started as two watchmakers in Barcelona four years ago (selling only on wallapop, a local marketplace), and I joined three years ago, always in Barcelona. Labeling our company with a random term meant to diminish and discredit us is both arrogant and careless.
I serve hundreds of people each month, and I regret to say that your behavior has been the most unpleasant, offensive, and patronizing I have encountered.
We are a passion-driven project, and my superiors gave me the permission to respond personally, which I am greatful for, because I want to take the chance to say that EVERY Wristmodding customer deserves respect and care, and will receive a watch crafted with mastery and passion, that will be replaced and repaired ALWAYS, if issues occur (in fact, we have the longest warranty of the modding market).
We only expect to be treated with dignity and respect in return, which was not the case here.
As always, we remain available for an amicable and respectful resolution.

Incredible company with great parts for sale
recently they had a lottery that i won and got a free watch, and i am amazed by the quality of the watch. My dad who is an expert in watches said that this is the best seiko he has gotten in terms of the movement. He has also built many watches using their products and they look amazing. A very pleasant experience on a purchase made in May 2024. I was looking for a Seiko mod that resembles the Rolex Submariner with blue dial on a gold bracelet. This was the only website that had it. I selected the expedited shipping. I received the package within a week. The watch is a work of art and the time is accurate. It is a good build quality. Would highly recommend this business.

Lacking quality control
Nice prices and decent quality watches. But the quality controll seems to me lacking, I unfortunately have quite a noticible dirt patch on my white dial seiko which is very annoying, there also was a screw on the bracelet that was totally loose.
Something to note is that the watches are shipped from China, so expect a long shipping time and to pay some import tax!

Customer told us, after contacting him on whatsapp that he's "Very happy with a beutiful watch" I think that would be nice to say in a review that portrays our company pretty negatively, customer does not want us to fix or replace their watch, doesn't seem to want to get the import taxes refunded, nor any other issue addressed, he says that 3/5 is not a bad review but we think the phrasing of the content in this review does not make us justice and is incorrect.
Hello there Tom, not all our watches are shipped form HK as that is only one of our shipment locations, including Barcelona and Singapore, as we state on our site. Had you requested shipment specifically from anoher location, if you had any problems with HK, and selected Express delivery, you would have receievd it from Singapore in a week, for example.
And as we say we refund import costs for European customers who have to deal with this, when customers sends us proof of payment.
And as of your quality issues, had you reported these to support with pictures and videos, your watch would have clearly been repaired or replaced, as we have always done, having the longest warranry of the modding industry at 2-years long.
I doubled check and can confirm that you have not contacted us to this day, on our live chat nor via email / whatsapp.
And for the shipping time, you did select free 20/30 days delivery, and received the package within that timeframe, and it takes that time whether it ships from HK, Singapore or Barcelona.
You could have selected express FedEx delivery which takes 7/10 days and was available as it is for all our customers at an additional charge.
Hence we would have appreciated you reached out to us in regards to all this, we do remain available clearly via email at wristmodding@gmail.com and via our live chat or whatsapp support!

The Daytona with champagne dial and steel bezel is a looker. Nice weight, lays well on the wrist. This won’t be my last Daytona.
The Nautilus with a green dial is a bright green just so you know. The watch is heavier than expected. Very well made timepiece. Love everything about both watches.

Nightmare and stressful experience
Ordering a watch with them was a total nightmare. I ordered a batman Seiko mod. Received the item with a wrong back case. First time of use to try on, it fell down and broke because of loose screw on the bracelet. Informed them and took weeks to get their reply. After so many hassle, getting the watch to a watchmaker to check the damage, sending them photos and videos repeatedly, (take note that communicating with them takes days if not weeks), they finally agree to send me a replacement, now it's been a month and I am still waiting, despite requests to send it by express shipping. They never care to make up for the disappointment of their customers. Buying from them is a nightmare and a stressful process. I would probably will not get the watch anymore as I am leaving the country in few days.

You dropped the watch and broke it, and yes we sent you a brand new watch (and we even offered for you to get it fixed at your local watchmaker and to refund fully the costs, even though in this case we didn't have to), if adjusting a bracelet you don't screw tightly the watch's links and the watch drops it's not our responsibility, and yet we sent you a whole new watch. This review is absolutely unfair, check your tracking and treat people fairly, you could have simply texted us in regards to this instead of immidiately bashing us online, a minimum of respect and patience would be appreciated.
