WPS have been appointed by the trustees of my company's defined benefit pension to provide financial advice. I had an introductory call and then a longer appointment during which I received advice specific to my circumstances. Before contacting them I thought I had a plan for retirement but they encouraged me to think about alternatives and I did actually change my plan. My employer has appointed WPS to provide pension advice to those nearing retirement, so I took them up on their offer. I had two introductory calls with WPS and provided all my pension and other relevant information, so they could get an idea of my expectations in retirement. I then had the Teams call with Andrew who was very knowledgeable about finance generally, very easy to talk to and knew everything there is to know about pensions. He prepared spreadsheets prior to our meeting and had a very good idea of what I needed to do, and gave excellent advice. So I'm in a much better position than if it had been left up to me to work it out and now know exactly what to do going forward with regards to my pension.
