Great customer service!

Answered my questions quickly and effectively. They mentioned they’ve recently had a change in ownership and warehouses, which caused some delays, but I received prompt responses. My bike is absolutely brilliant 👍 Keep up the good work!

Don't deal with these cowboys. New ownership have failed to maintain any continuity of supply. Excuse after excuse. Plenty of alternative brands of bike

Very happy so far...

I chanced upon this bike in a clearance sale at my local bike shop. I've been looking for a while and knew these were good bikes. It took a week for the retailer to get it ready (which I thought was odd as it was built when I first saw it), but aside from that everything was fine. Bike is really fun to ride!

Avoid Wisper

Purchased a bike directly from Wisper last year, needs repairing under warranty. Local wisper dealer can't do it, and wisper doesn't answer emails, tickets or phone calls. Shockingly bad customer service. I'm now left with a 2 grand unusable bike. I've been told they've been sold and relocated, but they seem to have wound up entirely. Avoid this company, their warranty is worthless and they don't have any customer care anymore.

The company couldn't repair my bike's electronics, so it's now unusable

My Wisper Torque 806 folding e-bike (2018 model, but little used) developed a fault in its propulsion system after less than 500 miles of use, but it was then out of warranty. The company agreed to repair it at their HQ, as my local Wisper dealer had ceased trading.
It soon became apparent that the electronic parts required were no longer available for my discontinued model, so I was advised that a complete 'rewire' (new control module, motor, and handlebar controller) would be needed.
After having my bike in their workshop for 3 months, the company admitted defeat. As I was reluctant to buy a new bike from them, I requested they return the bike to me. I'm now considering selling the bike for spare parts online, or part-exchanging it for a purely mechanical bike at a local bike dealers

Buyers beware....E-bikes can be unrepairable!

And don't believe any glib response from David Niall, their company CEO, who will no doubt trot out platitudes in reply to any poor reviews with comments like 'we can usually rewire bikes out of warranty with new components'. In my case they had the bike in their workshop for over 3 months, and clearly could not source the electronic parts required, mainly from China.
I've been a lifelong cyclist, and could repair most parts of a purely mechanical bike myself, but the electronic parts of an e-bike can make them unrepairable by most owners.
In short, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, but if you must have an e-bike, do your research carefully, and buy elsewhere.
Despite the company's platitudes, the fact remains that they are effectively saying they are probably unable to repair an e-bike's electronic parts once out of its 2 year warranty period. I have a 20 year-old touring bike(purely mechanical)that is still working perfectly, is easily repairable, and cost a fraction of the £1700 I paid for my useless e-bike. I rest my case.

So the company continues to trot out platitudes about being able to repair their e-bikes out of warranty. In my case they had my bike for at least 3 months, during which time they intimated they may be able to 'upgrade' it with new parts, but at no point did they quote me a price for doing so. In the end they simply returned it to me, additionally with some parts 'broken in transit'. I'm simply not prepared to pay potentially hundreds of pounds to have an e-bike repared, when there's no guarantee that the problem won't occur again in future.

Unfortunately many consumer products, especially those using electronics, are effectively becoming 'throwaway items'. This would appear to be the case with Wispers' e-bikes.

I'm pleased for those buyers that have had good experiences with Wisper Bikes, but I would not be truthful if I didn't give this company a damning review in respect of my own experience.

Just waiting for their next reply, no doubt offering other excuses and blaming me for not doing this or that to maintain it....

Hi Martin,

That is completely unfair and untrue, you have an EIGHT year old electric bike that we have said we can get back on the road for you but it needs to be updated, we tried for 10 weeks to get the parts for you but the manufacturers have stopped making them. This is because after 8 years eBike technology has moved on massively so repairing old systems that are 6 years out of warranty simply is not possible as many parts are no longer produced.

The fact that in eight years you have only ridden the bike for 500 miles, that's just over 1 mile a week on average is most likely the reason you have had problems with the bike, how many times have you had the bike serviced in that time?

We are the ONLY ebike company in the UK that will happily replace the obsolete parts with completely up to date replacements and get customers back on the road.

Hi Martin, how old is your bike? Sorry to read that the shop you bought the bike from has gone out of business. If it's a recent model then we can fix it, however if it is an older model that is correct we may need to change the motor and wiring to more recent equipment, but we are well known for getting even older bikes back on the road.

You are absolutely correct, non electric bikes can easily be bought up to date with far cheaper parts. Much like a computer vs an adding machine or a smart watch vs a clockwork watch these were far more easily maintained and did not go out of date so quickly but did not have the advantages.

The fact remains that we are the only eBike brand that can bring your bike bang up to date at a fraction of the price to buy new.

Bought the 2025 version of 806 Tailwind…

Bought the 2025 version of 806 Tailwind folding e-bike with full throttle from a shop in Bury St Edmunds. After waiting the 8 weeks for inspection I collected the bike and brought it home.

The bike doesn’t work as it should, there is almost no electrical assist, no full throttle, only pedal assist and the LCD screen is not charging or reading correctly- it says I’m doing 60 mph!!!!!

The bike shop is seems to be uninterested, and so I contact Wisper a week ago and have heard nothing. I’m absolutely shocked by the dreadful after sales service and about to take legal advice.

Ivehad the 905 575w bike for 3 wks but…

Ive had the 905 575w bike for 3 wks but haven't used it much due to bad weather but the short rides ive done have been great fun,im a 58 Yr old chap and this makes light work of cycling ,hills are a breeze ,I had a gel seat offered from a pal tried it but went straight back to the original as its so comfortable, the ride position is perfect and I feel I could do a 50/60 mile ride using the bike properly and not worry about the battery running out even if it did its light enough to ride home,overall im extremely happy I chose the whisper 905 with a bigger 575w battery and cant wait to use it more

I recently purchased my third Whisper…

I recently purchased my third Whisper ebike and couldn't be more satisfied. No issues with my previous two, and the craftsmanship is exceptional, especially considering the price. They clearly communicate the 8-12 week delivery timeline, as the bike requires a DVLA inspection due to its full throttle capability. By following the care instructions provided, I've enjoyed a trouble-free experience. If I had to point out one small improvement, it would be to enhance the brightness of the lights. Thanks, Whisper, for consistently delivering an outstanding ebike experience!

Wisper full throttle is the solution

Wisper Wayfarer H7 hub-drive step-through with full throttle and DVSA L1e approval certificate.

I am now 84. All my life I have enjoyed cycling, as utility transport, leisure trips and exercise.
Due partly to age and a recent illness I now have some minor coordination problems.
It means that I cannot hill-start a bicycle, even a bottom bracket pedelec with torque sensors.
Most of the UK / EU pedelec ( or EAPC now ) regulations make perfect sense, i.e. restrictions to 250 W and 25kph (15.5 mph), in order to be able to use cycle tracks safely, but the puritanical need to pedal to get electric assistance never made sense. It meant that for some people with balance or coordination or fitness problems a pedelec was not the transport solution that it could have been.

The full throttle Wisper allows easy hillstarts, getting moving after a stop at uphill junctions, and better starting at any junction. Incidentally, it is also possible to travel for miles, up hill and down dale without pedalling at all and this might be useful to someone with bad knees; for most, however, it would be unnecessary as the bicycle is so easy to pedal with the normal electric assistance. Although the DVSA take weeks to issue an approval certificate (and charge a fee ), it is emphatically worth while as it provides a unique and totally legal transport solution.

I would recommend this bicycle to anyone who is not fully fit, both as a transport option and good fun. It seems that in the UK only Wisper offer the completely legal full throttle option. Other manufacturers still think cyclists need to be 'fit' people.

After sales is a shamble

After sales is a shamble. Been trying to buy touch up paint , but the Web site just won't let me . Why do I have to have a password anyway? I have no idea what the problem code is. Strange they don't give me any hassle spending 2.3 grand buying the bike!!!

excellent EBikes

i have just ordered a new whisper ebike . this will be my 3rd Whisper ebike never had a single problem . always been upfront saying will be 8-12 weeks for delivery as its full throttle as needs to get checked by dvla the bulid quality is fantastic for the price never had a problem with my last 2 ebikes as always follow the care guide provided. if i was being picky i would like the lights to be brighter . thanks Whisper for making my Ebike experience very enjoyable

great after sales support

My wisper 806 past warranty developed a very strange electrics fault Initial help diagnosing / trying spares did not work. The took the bike back to the factory . Sorted it out ( torque sense issue) and returned . Just cost of parts
Not many companies will stay with you llke that

Delighted!

I am so delighted with my new step through Wisper Wayfarer:
Solid, strong and reliable with many useful features
The service from Allens Ebikes was very good.
I was disappointed with the manual where the print is too small and the diagrams of the controls are indistinct.
I downloaded a copy snd had to enlarge it by 85%.

The bike ride however is brilliant. The control panel is clear and the power is evident straight away giving a much needed boost on the many hills in my area.

Truly Exceptional Service & Support! (E-bike Purchase)

​I had an absolutely amazing experience with this company, particularly with their aftercare and support.
​Everything was going well with my new e-bike until I encountered a minor issue. While a fault is frustrating, the team made the resolution process incredibly smashing and seamless. I simply returned the bike, and they quickly tested and confirmed the problem.
​The shop took complete ownership, handling the entire process of sending the bike back to the manufacturer for repair. I didn't have to lift a finger beyond the initial return. A few weeks later, my bike was returned, fully fixed, tested, and ready to ride again.
​Their commitment to customer support is top-tier. They turned a potentially negative experience into a massive positive by being efficient, proactive, and friendly throughout. I highly recommend them if you want a company that truly stands behind their product!

Excellent bikes and excellent customer support.

I have a folding electric bike – a Wisper 806. It is a great machine – well designed, comfortable and manoeuvrable. It’s also not too heavy for a 20” model. Great fun to ride. The bike is four years old and I had a minor electrical problem with it - which is apparently unusual. I contacted Wisper. They were extremely helpful. They guided me through diagnosing the issue and quickly supplied the necessary parts. I’m up and running again. I would thoroughly recommend the company.

Long delays for full throttle bikes, poor customer communication

Placed an order for a Tailwind full throttle version on 30th June, with estimated delivery date of 20th August.

Cancelled my order for the bike on Monday as Wisper could still not supply the bike.

I fully appreciate that full throttle bikes are dependent on DVSA approval, so the delay is out of Wisper’s hands but I feel they have fallen short in terms of managing expectations and communicating to customers.

It seems from other customer reviews that there have been similar issues. Wisper continues to quote 2 to 8 weeks lead time on their website for full throttle bikes, however despite waiting almost 16 weeks with no resolution that’s not appropriate and this information needs to be updated at point of purchase to allow customers to make an informed decision on whether they want to wait that long.

In terms of keeping customers updated, that’s another area that feels lacking. The estimated delivery date had come and gone and it required contacting Wisper directly to be told no date yet. There has never been proactive communication from the team, and only brief responses every 2 - 3 weeks when I have to chase up again.

It appears that this problem has been ongoing for a while, but this has never been communicated to me, and only by reading through David’s responses on Trustpilot have I comes to understand the extent of the issues with DVSA. Kudos to David for responding to reviews, but this could also have been done through direct contact with customers to keep them informed, as others have reviewed as well, as it’s increasingly frustrating to be met with continual silence.

Two stars because I’m sure their bikes are great and am sure I would have been very happy with the bike if I had received it, but ultimately it’s been too much of a drain on my own time and resources to wait any longer.

Hi, so sorry but we have been thrown into such turmoil by this issue with the DVLA. TBH I am just about to give up with offering full throttle bikes. After twenty years trying to build a brand that cares about people to receive so many bad reviews due to problems that are completely out of my control is utterly sole destroying.

After our meeting today with DVSA we are suddenly getting dates in November (when we tried yesterday it was December!) and responses from them in one day rather than two or three weeks. This was how the system should have worked and did work when we first started. We will try this new regime out for a few weeks, if it slips again, I will stop.

We have not been able to reply to most people as the bikes were mainly ordered through dealers.

Again please accept my sincere apologies.

Unacceptably delayed delivery.

I have been waiting for my order to be delivered for 4 months. I ordered a Full Throttle 24" SE 705 on 26/05/25 and have contacted the company every month for an update. They have never contacted me unless I contact them first. They keep saying they can't get the bike certificated by the Department of Transport.

Hi Bruce, sorry it's been such a long wait, as has been explained by email today we are having massive problems getting the bikes booked in to the DVSA, to the point that we are probably going to have stop providing throttle only bikes.

We have a meeting with the DVSA tomorrow to see if and when the situation will improve, we will then make a decision. I am personally very angry and upset about the current situation as there is no doubt that a full throttle makes cycling more inclusive. Even more annoying is that it was me personally that argued with the DfT, the BAGB and the MCIA in several meetings in Victoria, eventually persuading them to add FT bikes as a new class of ebikes, at the time they guaranteed to make the process easy in inexpensive!

Are cancelling your order Bruce? If so, please let us know as we have a huge waiting list and if we stop all together they will become a rarity.

Again sorry for the huge and understandably unacceptable delay, it's really out of your hands.
