Excellent Building Control Service – Highly Recommended

We recently used Wilkinson Construction Consultants for the Building Control services on our first HMO development in Maidstone, involving a full refurbishment, rear extension and conversion to a 7-bedroom en-suite HMO.

Mike Chambers was our Building Control Manager throughout the project and was excellent to work with. From the initial stages right through to final completion and certification, Mike was professional, knowledgeable, approachable and always willing to provide clear guidance when we needed it.

As this was our first HMO development, there were inevitably a number of technical requirements and challenges to work through. Mike took a practical and solution-focused approach throughout, helping us understand what was required while ensuring the project achieved the necessary Building Regulations standards.

Communication was always good, inspections and documentation were dealt with professionally, and the final close-out process was handled efficiently.

A very positive experience with both Mike and the wider Wilkinson team. We would happily use them again for future developments and would have no hesitation recommending their services.

These clowns drove our client mad – wouldn’t answer questions, didn’t respond to emails, never picked up the phone. Apparently, the inspector was a subcontracted freelancer who’s reports they would ignore. Useless jobsworths – avoid at all costs.

Geoff’s knowledge, understanding, and explanations of the building regulations are well beyond those of a standard construction consultant.

We must be getting special treatment as Geoff seems intent on find issues after issues will little regard for customer service. The phone message states they will return our call BUT never do. Very slow to respond. Amazing i received a response within 1 hr of my review shame that does not happen when you call them. The reply is full of excuses and the issue is that we don't get any clear input just new issues introduced time, time and again for over one year. Why don't they do a plan check to resolve these issues.

I’ve been working with Mike for a few years and he is always professional and helpful. He’s very solution driven and uses his knowledge to make sure mistakes are avoided later down the line.
