very secretive, brought them an injured seagull, and they said we meet you at a petrol stationin Whitechurch Cork, young group of fat, dyed purple haired girls and guys , maybe 5 jumped out of a small car,I asked can I check how the bird would be getting along, they said no its a secret location, never answered my texts for progress reports, they seemed like a cult to be honest, I wouldnt do it again

This place is fantastic!!
I was taken here for my birthday (40th) and yes, I’m a huge kid at heart and love animals.
I love everything that wild Ireland does to protect and preserve wild animals once native to Ireland.
The staff were all fantastic from those in the coffee shop and those that feed/care for the animals. There were lots of talks about the animals and it was so clear that these wild animals are cared for so heavily whilst trying to facilitate their own wild environments.

I would highly recommend going and I will certainly go back there again! Thankfully, the weather was beautiful and we all had a fantastic day out!!

Enjoyed our experience, especially the lynx, and this is definitely a good day out. The talks were amazing. We listened to the same guy talk about four different animals for an hour. Neither us nor the kids got bored. He was so knowledgeable (even though he was a relatively new member of staff).
However, so many little things could make this 5-star.
Don't pay attention to talk-times or feeding times advertised on the website, nor on the map printouts, nor on the billboards at the park. The only person with the accurate talk and feeding times seems to be the person taking your money at reception! In my opinion, what is the point in advertising the times at all if they change daily! Just have everyone check at reception!
Cafe also had several different menus on the go - not all valid.
Toilets near the cafe closed at least 25 mins before closing time - sending a few of us into panic. (We found toilets at the entrance to still be open.)
I'd prefer if enclosures could be bigger to help stop the animals pacing, but I realise many came rescued from cages, and so their life now is far from their former lives.

I visited Wild Ireland expecting to find a sanctuary for rescued animals, as advertised. Instead, I was deeply distressed to see animals housed in conditions more reminiscent of a zoo, with inadequate enclosures, a lack of enrichment and clear signs of stress in some animals.
Many of the animal there are not endangered nor seem to fit the ‘sanctuary’s’ claim of being “rescued or rehabilitated.”
I believe this place may have its origins in genuine good intentions and certainly the young staff seem to love their jobs but along the way, the animals’ welfare got forgotten. There is nothing ‘wild’ about many of these poor animals’ living conditions.
Wild Ireland felt more exploitative than protective, which was profoundly disappointing and unsettling. For anyone who truly values animal welfare, this probably is not the place for you.

Fantastic amount of amazing animals that all looked very healthy & well kept. A great up close & personal experience to educate & increase our appreciation of nature & so many different species. I ve been to The Highland Wildlife Park in Aviemore, Scotland twice in the last year & Wild Ireland will be right up there with it, soon - I have no doubt. Lots of works & extending enclosures going on there at the moment but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Congrats Wild Ireland!
Little map booklets would really help -we very nearly missed seeing half of the enclosures & the gorgeous Wallabies in the woods! There was a lovely kids camp going on there also today.
Well worth the drive from Athlone!!!! We loved it!

20 euro to have a very underwhelming experience. The animals are housed in very small enclosures and we witnessed three or four of them pacing, a clear sign of distress..a small bird enclosure houses maybe twenty exotic birds..these animals have no freedom, it's a money making racket!!! 😡😡😡

Everything!! Tge animals the sensitive merging of habitat with existing nature the friendliness of all special mention of thanks to bronwyn so knowledgeable friendly what a gift to have such wonderful people with stunning animals tge cafe shop etc really good too
Wonderful energy from all we met a joy to see such a dedicated happy crowd
Plus tge sun shone always a bonus!!!

Recently I have contacted them about a hedgehog in danger, next to the highway, and they were unable to help. They have guided us to ISPCA, but we haven't received any replies.
