Google ranks problem and no refund unprofessional
My advice: If you run a business and need a website that ranks on Google, look elsewhere. If you already use Wegic, check your bank statement line by line — you may be surprised at what you find.
I built my business website on Wegic and it has been one of the most costly and frustrating experiences I've had with any online service. I'm writing this so other small business owners know what they're signing up for.
1. Sites aren't built for SEO — and Wegic confirmed it in writing
Wegic is marketed as a way to build a website that helps your business get found. In reality, every site is a client-side rendered single-page app (SPA) with no server-side rendering and no pre-rendering. That means search engines can struggle to read your content properly. Wegic confirmed in writing that the platform is SPA-only, and their own in-platform AI assistant also confirmed that SSR or static pre-rendering is not possible at all on Wegic. If you need your site to rank on Google, this is a fundamental problem — and it's not something you're told clearly before paying.
2. Serious platform limitations
Beyond the SEO problem, the platform simply couldn't handle what a growing business website needs. As I tried to build out my site, I kept running into Wegic's limitations, and work I'd put in didn't hold up. For anyone planning more than a basic few-page site, this platform isn't built for it.
3. 255 separate charges on my bank card
Between 12 May and 14 September 2026, my bank statement shows 255 separate WEGIC.AI charges totalling £1,306.37. This includes:
• 5 monthly charges of around £53–54
• 18 charges of about £22.83 each within just three days (16–18 June)
• 232 unexplained micro-charges of about £2.68 each — 98 of them on a single day (26 May)
I have never had a clear explanation for these charges.
4. Charges continued after I stopped using the service
After realising the platform couldn't do what I needed, I moved my website elsewhere. Wegic kept charging my card anyway.
5. Refund refused
I raised all of this with Wegic, sent evidence, and asked for a refund. On 14 September 2026 they refused. No refund, no compensation, no explanation of the billing. I've now had to take this up with my bank.
